Kristic has reportedly agreed to a three-year deal to return to the NBA with the Thunder. This, to me, is crazy. I don't know why we hadn't reached out to him either over the summer or even now. He can play both Center and Power Forward, and from what I remember, before he had injured his knee again, he was playing lights out with the Nets. I feel like if we would've addressed a lot of these needs in the off-season we may have been at least a .500 team right now. Kristic is still considered a restricted free agent, so the Nets have a right to match any offers, but they obviously weren't very interested in doing so, as they had allowed him to go overseas in the first place. The article on Espn said a source has already said the Nets aren't going to match the Thunders offer. I wish we would've went after him.
In other possibilities, Antoine Walker was released by the Grizzlies today. Anybody think he can help us? I do. I mean, we just signed old man Howard and he played pretty well the other night. I think another veteran big man presence will help this team out. Plus, Walker can step out and hit shots and is a pretty good ball handler and passer as well... Not sure whose spot he would take though (*think Sean May...)

Walker=no thank you.
Krstic.....should have made a better effort for him. Do we have the cap space to have tried to sign him? I'm sure he can still play-12 points a game overseas is pretty good....the defense is allowed to be much more physical without fouls in Europe. He could have helped.

Walker: never in a million years
Krstic: could be nice potentially, but as bellringer mentions, we have to be aware of cap implications (would signing him prevent us from signing Gordon in the offseason, for example?). If he was signed, it probably would be the sign thay another trade is coming because our frontcourt would then be too deep, not enough minutes to go around.

Walker + LB = another buyout
Krstic may have ended up being a nice pickup, but he would've eaten up most of the team's remaining cap space for this upcoming offseason.

I felt pretty same about these guys just as all you do.
Definitely "no thanks" to Walker. But even if we offer Walker, he'd probably say to us "no thanks" too :) He'll be headed to a contender since it's been said that he's received 95% of his remaining salary in order to be waived.

I dont think we need any more FA, thats why we didnt go hard for kristic. I mean we just got howard, hollins is coming into a nice complementary role as a big man, and diaw/ mek tandem is starting work very smoothly. I think walker is a joke, and there is a reason why he didnt play in memphis.....mainly cuz he sucks and is only good for coming in with less then 10 secs when your team needs a three or a stupid shimee dance. Haha i did like that dance when he was in boston, it brought me joy. im thinkin if raja ever hits a shot, he can do the "fuck you whitey" dance to a ref
