If it involves Mek then we can only take back half of his salary in trade...which would fall in with your "blockbuster" description. The trades would have to be at the least inside of the 12-15 million (that's at Mek's salary X 1/2 plus players).

I assume one is Raymond. I'd think it's gotta be Mek before it's DJ, but those types of trades would typically hurt us unless it was players on rookie contracts, and quite a few people invloved (blockbuster, as you said).

Listen guys, the dude was right on the last one. He broke the news before it came out and it happened; that's straight fact.

Another fact is that time will only tell whether this guy goes 2 for 2 on breaking Bobcats trade news. I wouldn't be shocked to see them pull the trigger on a major deal involving top players on our roster minus Augustin.

Honestly, I could see Okafor and Felton leaving in a package. Many NBA people are talking about how the Bobcats overpaid for Okafor; so it's not out of the way to think that Okafor wouldn't be traded if the right deal happened to show up for the Bobcats' future.

To be fair, Okafor deserves to find himself on a contender because i'm not sure the Bobcats are ever going to win with this lineup or any combination of a majority of the players on this team.

I'll give this dude his due, but you better be right or this board is going to flame you to death. I just hope, if you're right, that the Bobcats get a deal that'll benefit them in the future.

My thing is if you know something give up the opposing team. Hints no names are out there but you still get the credit because if you get the team, you must have know. All this talking trash accounts for nothing. Sure you got the first but if you sleep someone else will get the credit you deserve. ILBIT I can see giving up Felts but not Okafor. If felts leaves we need a solid backup for DJ. I think it has to be between twoo or three teams. They need a strong defensive presence and a pg. I see Portland, Memphis and maybe the Lakers but I can't see how you could package something that works with the Lakers unless there is a third team.

I have to say I kinda like what FREAK21/ballwhore is doing here. I gave FREAK21 his due for breaking the news on the PHX trade, so I have no reason to doubt what he says this time. Talking to MT last night, there's going to be more roster-shifting, which lends some credence to the timing of ballwhore's pronouncement. That said, if none of what he is telling us is true, he should be put either on probation or be kicked off alltogether: it's one thing to be breaking actual news/rumours, it's another to just be dicking around for shits 'n giggles.

That one's tough to buy. Why would GSW want Mek when they have a better (arguably) and cheaper version in Biedrens?

I can get Felton/Mek for Randolph/Wright/Jackson to work but in no way shape or form can I imagine Larry Brown wanting SJax...not to mention this would make Nazr our best big ( :hypo: ). So I did some playing around and came up with this.

The trade chatter surrounding Brad Miller continues, as well it should. He's atop the list of most likely Kings next to go, and league sources continue to indicate that the Kings are officially engaged and somewhat motivated on the trade front. The latest Miller report to pop up comes from ESPN's Marc Stein, who says Charlotte is offering former King Gerald Wallace in return for Miller. While Wallace is available for the right player in return, I'm told from a source close to the Bobcats that Miller does not fit that bill if it's up to Larry Brown.

I just got back from a family Chrismas gathering in Charlotte and haven't been on for about 48 hours. I was amazed to see 44 people online when I checked back for the first time a little while ago and figured something big happened.

Well, I read all the posts in this thread and I'll give you guys my 2 cents worth of analysis...

First off, Freak or Whore or BAN or whoever: He has been successful in completely getting everyone all worked up. The way he represents himself, whether he has inside info or not, is in a very, very immature fashion. I can't believe he is older than a teenager (and an immature one at that). That begs the next question...How did he know about the J-Rich trade? Well, I don't have an answer. Maybe his dad is with the franchise or with the NBA front office or something like that. Who knows and who really cares.

We all care about the Bobcats here. We will find out soon enough if he actually knows what he is talking about. BUT, even if he has inside info, I refuse to kiss his ass to find out about it. Time will tell if he is right but ironically, time is also the only thing which might mature the young dude (hopefully).

As far as the trade goes, if we trade Emeka AND Felton, we better be getting an all-star type player back. Jefferson from Minnesota is a maybe. Monta Ellis as the primary guy wouldn't make me happy at all. As much as I personally like Brad Miller, I would rather have Emeka anyday of the week. This thread makes me more nervous than anything...

Warriors want Felton.

Could Raymond Felton end up a Golden State Warrior, in a trade that might acquire Anthony Randolph or Brandan Wright?

The Warriors and Bobcats have had discussions about Felton, an NBA source told the Observer, and the Warriors appear open to giving up either Randolph or Wright to make a deal work.

Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins would neither confirm, nor deny, talks with the Warriors involving Felton. Higgins came to the Bobcats two years ago from a similar role with the Warriors.

There's considerable incentive for both teams to consider such a trade:

The Bobcats face the possibility of losing Felton without compensation after this season, when he becomes a restricted free agent. They chose not to sign him to a contract extension last summer, after drafting another point guard, D.J. Augustin, with the ninth overall pick.

Augustin has blossomed of late, scoring 29 points and totaling seven assists in an overtime victory Tuesday against the Chicago Bulls. Augustin outplayed Bulls point guard Derrick Rose, the No.1 overall pick.

That could leave the Bobcats with a dilemma in July, should another NBA team offer Felton a lucrative offer sheet.

At that point, the Bobcats would either match that contract and possibly overpay a player who could end up a reserve or potentially lose a player chosen fifth overall in 2005, without compensation.

Meanwhile, the Warriors have an abundance of forwards and a need for Felton's toughness and playmaking. The Warriors lost Baron Davis to the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency, and are still searching for help at the point.

Felton might not be a pure point guard, but he would free up Monta Ellis (once Ellis recovers from an offseason scooter accident), to be a scorer at shooting guard.

Randolph, a multi-skilled but spindly forward out of Louisiana State, auditioned well enough that he was at least in the discussion when the Bobcats made the ninth selection.

Wright was the player the Bobcats chose on the Warriors' behalf, after working out a deal to acquire shooting guard Jason Richardson on draft day 2007

Felton makes enough this season ($4.15million) that the Bobcats could acquire Randolph and Wright, and the salaries would match within NBA rules.

But since Randolph and Wright are similar, it would make sense for the Bobcats to take one, plus something else that would offer them salary-cap relief.

This guy did break the richardson trade before it came out anywhere else, but i believe it was on the same day. Whatever his source, i could see knowing about it the day of or day before the trade went down. But this is already working on several days since he claimed to know about the trade and who was involved. Trades seem to change back and forth with new pieces being added and subtracted to make it work all the time. So how does he know for sure, without a doubt who exactly is going to be traded for whom? And if it is a sure bet, then why are they waiting and holding off? I dont necessarily doubt his source, but is it possible that it was close to a done deal and then fell through?

Either it would happen or it wouldn't. Players that might be traded if close to the deal, wouldn't play, due to injury potential. Nothing seems imminent right now specifically. yeah, I thought of that... But i think that it is more likely that the other team is holding it up because they want more. The reason? Because as I mentioned, it's obvious we are desperate to make a move and we're already offering our best players besides DJ. So, I assume after seeing us trade away J-Rich and dangling GDub, Felton, and Okafor that the other team wants to see how much they can gouge us for. I don't see us holding a trade up because we continuously dangle all of our players out there (except for us reportedly asking any take to take Nazr as well).

There's a guy on RGM that said he has a source that works in the organization, and confirmed that we are putting out a trade that includes Felton as the center piece. He also said the other team, who is currently unknown to the poster on RGM, tried to get D.J. I think it would take a mega deal to acquire him from us, and I highly doubt we would trade our 2 PG's. He also made a reference to ballwhore and how he's just annoying everybody with keping the info. I am interested to see who posts the infromation first if something does go down...

I have not given any input on this entire issue. I always believe in giving someone the benefit of the doubt until they lose it. So far, from what I've read, I'd say he has not lost that right, so I still give Ballwhore the benefit of the doubt. I just wish the language was a little less corrosive all the way around. Freedom of speech is a great thing, but trying to act and speak with respect towards each other can only make this Board an even better place. I like it better than some of the others i have seen. But not sold on getting rid of Oak. Felton, i dont really have a problem with losing. But if we are going to trade Oak, Jefferson would be a good replacement i think.

I for one would love that trade for Charlotte, although I don't think GS would bite. They'd be giving up Randolph, Nelson, and Williams (although probably not a big deal) for Felton. Maybe if there were picks involved it would be possible. I like this trade for the bobcats because I absolutely love Jefferson, and he may be better suited to playing the 5 like he did in BOS. We'd be losing a little bit of defense but Jefferson is no slouch at that end of the floor, and I really like Randolph's potential.

Someone posted earlier that we worked out Demarcus prior to the draft and I think he's the type of player that would really flourish under LB's tutelage. He could be a good player for us in spot minutes and be a nice defensive presence. And all this is coming from a Tarheel fan!

As usual, if Larry's signing off on any trade, I'm down with it all the way....as long as it's not Lexy, Boris, Raja or DJ. I'd miss Gerald like all hell, but I don't think it would screw up too bad the foundation Larry's building up here. As for Mek, it's hard to believe he would be involved in any trades the way Larry was talking postgame, thanking God for him, but we'll see.

Does anyone think there is any possibility to the trade I posted? And would we as Bobcats fans be happy if it went down? I don't feel like Minny would want to give up Jefferson, but if Love progresses like he's supposed to then a defensive force like Oak would compliment him well.

I don't think there's anyway that the T-Wolves trade Jefferson. He's now their franchise player for the foreseeable future. If he was on a good team, he'd be a no-brainer all-star.

So, no, I don't see them making that trade. They'd have to see Love be an absolute beast to trade Jefferson. I just don't see any remote chance of that happening.

Hey I doubt this is the trade scenario but I can't seem to work out Okafor in a trade direct with GS. Felton is good for some big time potential yet potential won't win games for us now. BAN said the trade was for some big time contributors but that would leave my trade out of it. None of the guys in my trade have contributed much of anything YET!

That's a pretty good trade for us. I just don't see it happening. Plus, we're locked into Maggette for a long time. Ultimately, we'd have to hope that Wright blossoms into a strong enough PF that the above lineup makes us a champion. I'm not sure it does.

This trade works out financially but I don't know if GS would go for it. It would be fair but I am not sure GS wants to lose Biedrins. There are a few players mentioned that GS would like to part with but Biedrins has not been mentioned as such.

That's only true if the change is for the better. Vincent brought the Bobcats change, but I'm pretty sure we all know what kind of change it was.
