Thats not good. I've left early once in my time as a fan... Last year second matchup versus the Celtics when they didn't even bring half their starters with them. Their bench put us away and it was painful, especially after the heart break game earlier that season.

Your calling me a fair weather fan? Then why have I gone to or watched every game that I could since there existince? I'm probly one of the only true bobcat fans out there. So after watching them get smacked by a team they should of beat I'm allowed to be pissed.

I swear some of you guys sound like you belong on the charlotte observer forum... just argue and call each other names... This forum is better than that and all of us should respect each other and each others opinions. I love this team and I watched the game on tv until I just couldnt stand watching it no more so I flipped over to the hockey game that was a very good game. Am I a bad fan? No Im not I was a pissed off fan because our team played worse than a expansion team....

So you think Crash...a guy who's averaged 42 minutes for each of the 5 games he's played in the last 8 days...the same guy who took a nasty spill and got a bone bruise (remember that's what's kept fat ass out for months) yet still didn't miss a game, indeed was our best player through most of that stretch...deserved to be booed?

He could have EASILY took the rest of the week off and no one would have faulted him even a little bit.

There's much more to it than just getting into foul trouble and having a bad game...but hey, it's not just Bobcats' fans who live by the mantra "what have you done for me lately".

Hey guys,

Stumbled upon BCP while looking for G-Force wallpaper for my computer. Probably the biggest Cats fan here in the DC Metro area. Anyone else live up here? If so I'm gonna be at the game Wednesday sitting right behind the Cats bench proudly wearing my Felton Digs.

Haven't met any Cats fans since moving here recently so shout at me if you see me. I'll be one of the only people in a Charlotte jersey!

Let's go Cats!

I, myself, wasn't peeved about the score, I was merely reveling in disbelief, it was fun. Still, no advantage gained -> no gain lost, it's better than being labeled with lottery-bound tag.

We played really badly and deserved to get beat. Simple as that.

If we had played to the best of our ability and got beat that would be a real concern. We just had an off night - sure, a costly one, but an off night.

It happens.

Just means we have to work twice as hard to try and steal a couple of wins that, on paper, we shouldn't win over the next few weeks to make up for it (I'm looking at you Lakers, Sixers, Celts, Heat)

.... people who boo at a home team piss me off.
Nothing more disgusting that hearing the Raps fans at the ACC turn on the team. No wonder Stoudemire, T-Mac, Vince, Zo all wanted out of there. Bosh will be next. Those fans drive quality players away.

We don't want to be one of "those" teams.

If the Playoffs started today....we'd be left out. And you know what? I've kind of come around that I really don't care one way or the other. If we make it GREAT; but if not, no big deal. If we make it we'll face the Cavs; and other than coming out for the LeBron show, it could be ugly. A quick series will be quickly forgotten anyway I'm afraid. Still, its progress.

But I think I'm seeing a team now that is struggling with EXHAUSTION. I don't really mean the kind that comes up because so-and-so played too many minutes Friday before the Saturday game; maybe its partly the kind that comes with playing 6 games in 9 days.....

Mostly I think its deeper than that. I think its both mental and physical. I think its playing and adjusting to LB ball, physical and in-the-paint, every game all year. It's adjusting to 24 different players on the roster. Its playing through pain and injuries. Its not having Sean May all year. Its Emeka alone under the glass unless Gerald comes "crashing" through to help. Its Felton under way-too-big a load until DJ gets his pro legs (next year?). It's an overall lack of high-quality depth.

That's why I didn't get the LEAST bit angry with the Indy game; not the least. If anything I just felt sorry that the guys had to deal with fricking Jarrett Jack going OFF on them. No way you anticipate that. Granger? Troy Murphy? Sure. I think they were likely prepared for those guys. But Jarrett Jack NBA Career Night?! Come on.

I think the road from here out is going to be a tough one; and no matter the final result I'm DAMN proud of this team; and the leagues best coaching staff.

Well i think any true fan has a right to be upset, that just comes with the territory. It isn't the fact that people do not like the team, they just simply had higher expectations and knew it should have been a win. Me i was just like Damn, we got beat by Indy by 25pts. Sent a few emails , couple IM's to some other bobcat fans and thats about it. yeah it sucked we got smoked at home, no doubt. But Bulls are being played hard by the Wizards so that is a plus, if the bulls lose we are tied for 8th will win in the tie breaker. we have 8 of 12 on the road, just need to finish out over 500% and get the starters some rest. Go deeper in the bench and let the bench players contribute a little. Bench will be key in the playoffs.

I'm not saying your not allowed to be pissed...and I'm certainly not saying the team put forth a stellar performance but booing them at home after the tremendous run they have been on? You can choose to support the team however you see fit but I have to say that I completely disagree with booing of the team (especially in this situation). It just doesn't make sense to me.

Richard Hamilton, who was targeting a return from a groin injury for Tuesday's game at Chicago, is now doubtful to play in that game.
"With Rip it's a matter of feel," said coach Michael Curry. "It's not likely (Hamilton will play), but I don't want to rule him out. Sheed's out." And so is Allen Iverson. Hamilton, who has missed four straight, is a very risky play at this point, and would be limited to a maximum of three games this week if out on Tuesday. Mar. 23 - 2:04 pm et

I agree with you and i am one of the most critical fans out there. I would even go further as to say there were players who just were not trying and i don't buy the exhaustion crap either. It's the NBA they need to man up as professional athletes.

I would buy into exhausiton if we faded down the stretch of the game and were really trying but lost our legs and thus our FG% but the fact is the game was garbage from mid Q1 thru the finish. We did not even run plays, it was just garbage basketball

Having said all of that i did not boo the team once, nor would i. I think the team has given us more in the past 3-4 months than most anyone expected. When i first started going to the games i expected them to lose. Now i expect a win against any non top tier team and i still expect us to be competitive against the league's elite and give us a chance to win. I think that shows real progress

Well, the game is not over yet officially, but Detroit is getting whipped by Chicago. In moments Chicago will be 2 games ahead of Charlotte.

I have to say, it pains me to admit it, but my hat is off to Chicago. They have won the last 2 very important games. When the chips were down, they won when they needed. And Charlotte laid an egg vs Minny a few games ago and against the Pacers the last game. Chicago is earning the Playoff spot, while Charlotte is not. It hurts to say it, but it is the truth. Still, we got better this season, and I am proud of the Cats and their overall season and effort. Next season should bring us much better results.

So frustrating!

Should be an easy win tonight, and hopefully Friday too. With that, and with a little help from above, I think we can definitely do this.

And hell, if Detroit continues to tailspin, it may be the Pistons we are fighting with at the very end. They're not out of reach and seem to be playing at a much lower level than the Chi-Town Bullies.

Everybody calm down,

I was at tonight's game against the Wizards.(You might have seen me if you were watching. The only guy in the lower level in a Bobcats jersey. Behind the bench)

We played fantastic in the first quarter. Gerald seemed strong and we couldn't miss.

In the second quarter we flattened out a little bit. DJ made some shots, Gerald made a few free throws, control was still remaining.

They made a nice run right before the half. (Thanks Jamison for being unable to miss there for a handfull of minutes)

I still felt confident at the break. We came out cold. We missed every open shot, and Gerald got a look in his eye. I commented to my friend, "GWall looks in pain". It was not minutes later that GWall came out and stayed out until the 2:30 mark of the 4th quarter. He looked miserable on the bench. He cringed. He jeered. I knew it was an uphill battle.

Still we came back. And so did Gerald. He then missed both free throws on a drive to the hoop. He looked in pain after.

We proceeded to have a few referee non-calls (which, from sitting right there, looked like shooting fouls. I swear to it)

And that was it. Just another loss. But I refuse to let this ruin me. I do not believe we're out of the race because of this loss. We just killed our room for error, sure, but our guys have the talent to do it. I am not giving up.

DC: I appreciate your optimism and for sure the Cats aren't out of the playoff race yet; anything can happen.

But! I've watched every game this team has played this year I can see the distress the guys are under as clearly as I can see the monitor in front of my nose.

I'll watch the rest of the games this season, because its what I do; but it'll take a serious redirection and a lot of luck for this to end with a playoff berth.

They started off to badly to recover from this. The fact is: In 2009, the Bobcats have played over .500 basketball and that is something to raise your head up and be excited about. We need a superstar at either C, PF, or SG to make a step towards the playoffs.

Opportunites abound; the team just has to win games. Sure, things aren't looking good, but things were dismal right before we ran off 6 in a row, albeit against subpar teams than what is in front of us now, but screw it, there are more than enough games left to do something.......

But don't get me wrong, I was cussing up a storm after Boris choked the putback gamewinner against the Wiz, and was declaring to those who would listen to me that it was over for the season, and received quick affirmations, but really, as far as the team has come, it's silly to count us out with this much time left in the race.

Well we have a chance still. But we have to play like we want it and Brown needs to get his head out of his ass and go to the bench to give the starters some rest, not all at once , but leave 3 on and 2 bench or 2 on and 3 bench,, even for only 2-3mins a quarter ,, Hell even 3 mins a half. We have to get out of this damn virgin tight rotation.

Friday the Bucks play Orlando = Magic Win
Cats play the Sixers = We can win this one
Lakers play the Nets = Lakers Win
Hornets play the Knicks= Hornets Win
===

Saturday Indy vs Chicago = Bulls Win
Detroit at Washington = Wizards win ( detroit is playing like shit, possibly looking forward to the lottery)
Miani beats the Bucks

Saturday means if we win Friday and detroit loses we Gain on them
=====

Sunday Nets play Twolves = nets lose
Bulls at Toronto = Bulls Lose
Philly at Detroit = Detroit Loss

Sunday we could be 1 game back from 8th

--------------

Tueday Detroit Loses to the Cavs
Bulls play Indy again
Hawks at Philly
Knicks at Denver
And I think that we can beat the Lakers again

So all in all the cats are playing Lakers and Sixers which we beat Lakers in their house, and we are as good as the injured Sixers. We can go 2-0. While detroit goes 1-2. Chicago can win out for all I care as we can still get the 8th if they go on a tear. But I think possibly we can grab the 7th or 8th at this point. I think April fools day we will know if we are for the lottery or Playoffs. We play Boston at the Garden. Doable. I know it is a tough stretch but we can beat these teams, we just need Detroit to continue its run to the lottery and us to keep our heads down and go to the fukn bench and get some guys a little rest. If Diaw comes out 1-19 put howard or mays ass in and keep hustling. The wizards game really irked me, as there was no reason to let someone who cant hit the broadside of a barn burn up minutes. Hell Juggle the whole damn bench. Someone on the bench will be productive.

Last 10 games we are .500, Like another person already said ( sorry didnt look at the posters name) but we are an above 500 team in 2009. We are missing 2 pieces I think to be playoff bound year in and year out. Although I do agree with the fact of looking for a new Center, I can't say yet I want to see DJ take over for Felton. Felton and Wallace are the two guys that hustle and play with heart.

If Felton could shoot better Id love him to death same with Raja, on defense they are both good and I am happy with that part. I agree dav

We have to get to the bench, wearing our starters out and then when we do try to bring in a bench player they take a few mins to get in rhythm due to the fact that the bench does not get any pt. I think it would be huge get howard, may , cartier to relieve the starters for a few mins here and there, and I agree WHY sign jefferson if we do not even know if he can play. Hell let the fans see if they guy can play. This tight rotation BS irritates me, How many of these close games would we have won if the bench gave the starters a few mins rest so they could have more energy to finish the game? Redunkulous

man guess you can never count on philly to do you any good right? we have must win games vs chi and detroit that will decide our playoff fate ultimately.

They still have to lose somewhere else...but they have the refs on their side, ifyou havent seen.

Oh and BigMike, I like the quote in your siggy, just thought I'd toss that out there, no clue what genius said it :p

i think by sunday night after the detroit game we will have a more concrete idea of our post season destiny. obviously we have to win the detroit game on sunday and the miami home game is as close to a must win as possible. if we can at least split btwn l.a. and boston and win against miami and detroit, i feel like we will be at least 1 game out if not in that 8th spot.

chicago has a light week coming up -- tues @ indiana and saturday vs. nj
detroit has a rougher schedule than chicago and we need to pounce. 2 back to back games, 3 straight on the road and us on the back end of a b2b. ---
tues @ cleveland, wed @ nj, sat @ philly and sun versus us in d-town.

(7) detroit ---
(8) chicago 1
(9) 'CATS 3

Nah... If we dont make it , we will be in 9th.

So where u had Detroit 7, Bulls 8th and us 9th. I think it will be
Bulls 6th, Philly 7th, Detroit 8th.

Chicago lost to Toronto yesterday, philly has lost 2 , detroit and the cats have won 2.... but I dont feel it will stay like that.... I think it will be like this
6 philly
7 det
8 chic or bobs (depends on the next 2 games)
9 same as above

Bulls are hot right now, they have the easiest closing schedule from all the others. So thats why i felt they would go 6th, pushing philly down to 7th and I think we could have taken the 8th from detroit.

But now the pistons have Rip and AI semi back, so that may change things again. I feel it is a tad to early to see anything definite yet. We face the lakers next trying to avoid their sixth loss in seven games against the Bobcats!

With a 5-4 all-time record against the Lakers, the Bobcats are one of only two teams - alongside Boston - with a winning record against them since they moved to Los Angeles in 1960.

Nice Stat there. Would love to see us bust out a win against the Lakers on our Homecourt. That would be a win that nobody was expecting besides us diehard fans. We can do this.

Would love to fall into 7th and Face Boston in the first round.

Kobe is battling a stomach bug, so we should be able to capitalize on that with Raja's kick ass defense. We just really, really need for the Pistons and Bulls to lose...I'm still hopeful, but it'll take a miracle.

I talked to Leon Powe today, and he is definatley out and KG is almost certainley out for the Celtics game, Big Baby might be out too.

Great night for us, Bulls choked in crunch time (we've seen that before, haven't we?), Pistons lost to a far superior opponent (not that its hard for them to lose), and we BEAT LA! 6 out of 7! Bring on the Celtics, and after that its clear sailing!

Tonight was special for another reason. 19,568 people in the arena. A record for the Bobcats. I know it being LA had something to do with it, but also it must be that people are seeing that we are actually playing meaningful games at the end of March and first 2 weeks of April. Games which impact our shot at the Playoffs. This is a very good sign for the team. Fans are getting more interested.

Its funny because the standard seating capacity is under 19,100. They must have been selling the standing room tickets or have expanded some other way. I am excited that we got to put on a great show for local basketball fans that might not have been that into the Bobcats yet.

The ACTUAL column updates in real time, the possible columns wont update until the program runs tonight. This late in the season most of the teams in the middle of the field have a chance to both win out and lose out, so tomorrow im sure it will have our worst case at 34 – 48… but more fun it will have best case still at 42-40!

Pour out a little of that Kool-Aid for this guy!

We're right there! The Bulls have an easier schedule over the next few games, but if you're paying attention, then you'll notice that the "easier" teams are not going down without a fight. There's not as much tanking as in the past, probably due to the weaker draft class. More teams than Indiana have the ability to beat the Bulls, just as we have the ability to beat teams like the Celtics.

The Bobcats will meet the Pistons and the Bulls later this season (in several days).

Beat them.

As far as I'm concerned we're in the playoffs right now. We have the same number of losses as the Bulls, and have the tiebreaker, thus, as long as we win, we're in. Can't possibly get any more black and white than that.

I have to agree with the masses here. The playoffs are basically ours to lose. One out of 8th and 2 our of 7th and we have the tiebreaker with the Bulls. All we have to do is continue to take care of our own business.

I also have to say that last night's game was one of the best performances I have ever seen from this team. They may have actually played better in the past but not ever with this much on the line against such a great team. We showed we can certainly play with ANYONE in the NBA right now.

From a franchise viability perspective as well, it was a huge stepping stone to having this team accepted by the community and I'm sure plenty of that almost 20,000 fans from last night jumped right on the bandwagon. There are still some seats left, but less and less everyday!

I truly believe we will make the playoffs but either way, this franchise is 100% going in the right direction both on and off the court!

The Detroit game is pretty big eh? If we can beat the Pistons, we're only one game behind them, but they have the tiebreaker, so we'd essentially have to make up two. Far from impossible with 5 games left after that and the Pistons in free-fall. We'll see! But thanks to the Pistons 3 game losing streak (let's make it 4), this is not over.

Not looking forward to playing the Cavs, but getting to the playoffs is still worthwhile in itself for this team. Having LeBron in the house for a few playoff games wouldn't be such a hardship. Beats watching Pistons-Cavs, which I wouldn't.

Just think of what it would do for the city, we'd have a playoff atmosphere similar to the Hornets. And we all know how that works as long as you dont screw it up.

The fact that we've had 3 straight sellouts says something about what Charlotte is willing to o for this team, plus you know they'd come watch LeBron, so I'm willing to be slaughtered for that.

this city and franchise needs the playoffs way more than a draft pick. our team is young and as nice as a draft pick is, it's still a gamble. a slot in the playoffs, even if it's against LBJ gets this team some respect and fans something to cheer about. todays game is pivotal and the door on the 8th spot is still slightly open. let's hope we come out and leave motown with a W

I agree. At least this is looking like a team that could contend for a P.O. spot next year, as opposed to what it looked like in the beginning of the season. And hey, we will probably get another SG (via draft or trade), and maybe even Ajinca gets in on some action next year. The future is bright my friends.
