I love to listen to Santana. When you watch Carlos play a guitar, it is like he is undergoing a spiritual experience. Or like he is making love to his guitar and it is the last guitar on earth. Few musicians can match him for his passion for music.
By the way, I was listening to Ray Charles and Willie Nelson "Seven Spanish Angels"

Not so much, our city (I'm North of it) has pretty much been devoid of musical talent for as long as I can remember. I mean really only Petey Pablo and Ryan Adams, Ben Folds (are all I can think of, unless I forgot any other talent)? But they're all from around the area...

I spent many a day wandering around Brighton hoping to run into him since he lives there, but no luck. One of my friend's has met him though and apparently he's just very tall and menacing and my friend was afraid to say anything to him hehe

Is it just me, or is asking what music you are listening to like asking how many people you have slept with?
Don't get me wrong - it's a great question, but it's so personal.
Eg: Would you think less of me if I had slept with over 120 chicks.............or if I listen to ABBA?

and you arent required to post and if you do but dont want to say you listen to Abba, find something else you like, put it on, post, then change back :)

I'm not necessarily a 90's rap fan. I'm not necessarily a "rap" fan at all. It just so happens that since the 90's, most of the real "hip-hop" has died out and become commercialized to a degree where its not about what you say but about the records you sell.
That the Lord for Immortal Technique and a few others. Current age hip-hop would be abysmal if not for this select few

Whether you dig it or not, you can't dispute the genius of the composition of the song: Three distinct sections, the first two of which serve as the prologue, with the first being a mellow R&B refrain, with the second being a darker-toned rock. Then a slight orchestral intro followed by the song proper which is vintage McCartney rock...brilliant stuff.

I'm taking a slight break from all the heaviness, atm I'm enjoying Sap by Alice in Chains (beagle's post sort of gave me the idea). :) Good choice! I don't know if it's because it's a 4-song EP or what, but this is the forgotten AIC album by most, which is a shame because, like you say, it is a more mellow, but nonetheless powerful production from Cantrell, Staley, and Co.
Ha, I'm feeling my grunge roots with this talk of AIC and have to hit the time machine to the glorious summer of '94 with two of my all-time faves, then as an adolescent and now!!!

Good stuff, teej. They're damn good. As far as the Foo, being the old fogey here, it was summer between sophomore and junior in HS when the self-titled debut came out, so I obviously have a soft spot for that one, plus I was graduating HS when Colour came out, so I have a soft spot for that. They kind of lost me with their third and fourth, and I've been a casual listener since.
Lots of faves, but the top are: Big Me, Floaty, Oh, George, For All the Cows, Exhausted, Poor Brain (think that's the name) and of course, Everlong.
After yesterday's classical selections, for a complete one-eighty, here's another AIC classic that was playing in the car earlier tonight:

Ziggy, have you ever checked out Thievery Corporation? That DC go-go video vaguely reminded me of them.
1. They're from DC.
2. They play a mixture of jazz, soul, worldbeats, and hip-hip.

There music is much more laid back than that video, but quite nice. Kruder and Dorfmeister is on the same tip.

I don't know how many people are interested in heavy metal here, but the best heavy metal band ever Iron Maiden has released their latest album, The Final Frontier. It's not a masterpiece according to Maiden standards, but still very good, worths listening. They are becoming less aggressive and more melodic as they get older like so many other bands, but they're losing their legendary status by no means.
This is one of the fine songs in the album, Starblind.

I've been into metal (prog, thrash, death, power... whatever) since my early high-school years and have never been able (I wouldn't know how to describe it another way than to mention 'abilitY' (slight 'Fringe' reference)) to pick up Iron Maiden. Maybe it was their broad appeal that kept me from liking them, since a whole lot of folks listen to it, whether they're metal-heads or not. Dunno, might give it a listen, there are at least a dozen people who've been pestering me because of my dislike for the alpha & omega of the brit heavy metal scene.
I'm sticking to Baroness as of late. Not much else that I need. :)

Over "Pusherman"? Don't get me wrong: that groove is phenomenal. But, "Pusherman" just makes you feel like you are the coolest person in the world-- the guy sitting behind the door that is guarded by the guy who is feeling "Freddie's Dead."

Wow, you like none of the British heavy metal bands? Iron Maiden? Judas Priest? Really surprised. Maybe you don't like mainstream bands. But I think you should give it a try to the following song:

Don't get me wrong, I like those bands in a way that I appreciate their contribution to the development of the metal scene in general, what I don't like is their cookie-cutter riffs and choruses that appeal to anyone, regardless of their tastes in music (Sounds of Muzak by Porcupine Tree comes to mind). In other words, they're great at what they're doing, it's just that I don't fancy their endeavors.
I've always let the broad appeal I've mentioned earlier distort the way I experience content and it might sound pathetic... nah, it is pathetic, but it's something I can't shake and it actually helps me better appreciate the bands I manage to dig up, in a sense.
As an aside, here's a short song that'll let you bask in the prog-sludge domain mastery of Baroness... :)

I respect your choices. After some time with them, people might search for something different, I can't blame anybody for that. I don't know, to me if something is good, it's not so easy to give up on that even if it is ordinary. Probably I tend to settle with what I already have :)
Also I must say that the song you've suggested sounded extremely experimental to me :) apparently I won't leave the mainstream styles that easily. But I should mention that my favorite metal band in general is Opeth, a progressive death band, you know.

Thanks, zig! It's an easy admission, as we both know; Curtis was a genius, and I admit I throw that word around a little loosely, but his genius is fact, not opinion! I'll take the easy way out and say my fave is the one I'm listening to at the time.
Might take some hell for this one (not being a hip hop buff at all, I don't know how it's viewed by hardcores) but I remember the first time I heard this song and was just mesmerized and love it to this day, guilty pleasure as it is (plus, it taught me the alternate definition for, well, the last p):

I'm not a fan of metal/heavymetal/deathrock/screamo. Don't like 99% of it. Only stuff to get me to like it the melodical singing in the chorus. Of the few metal/etc.etc.etc songs I listen to (on rare occasions):

Those bands are simply too cool to be labeled as 'metal'. :D
Now, you may wonder why I'd make a statement like that, well, you could simply google 'florida death metal' and/or 'bay area thrash' and that'd be as good as any answer, in addition, you'll learn to loathe the cheesy-melodic aspect those bands so often incorporate in their music. I'm gonna step away from the pulpit now...

That's the thing. I don't like death metal or bay area thrash, or metal/heavymetal etc. It's why I prefer the taste of the melodical singing opposed to 100% screaming or w.e. It's why I also like Silverstein, although there's screamo, I enjoy their choruses and melodic singing. Some people love metal, I simply only enjoy the melodical singing of it.
It also flows through into my EDM. I hate just pure drum and bass, but trance/hardstyle/psytrance with a great melody I'll enjoy.
Also when I get time I'll check out the band you linked.
