Whole article- http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dime-090106

Part about us-
Another thought: with Larry Brown seeking some size, and with Brown being a big Thomas fan from their time together in Philadelphia, might it make sense for Charlotte to send Adam Morrison (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=3016) and a spare part to Sacramento for Thomas and John Salmons (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=1726), the latter of whom is none too happy about his lack of touches since Kevin Martin (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2394) returned from an ankle injury.

That works, and leaves us a roster spot for maybe playing the D-League revolving door game.

I like it. Despite the fact that many people dont believe we will be able to compete in the 2010 FA extravaganza it will be nice to see that 8 mil come of then. Not to mention your gaining a good player and trading Nazr's 3 year for a more expensive contract of 2 years. Which makes more PT for lexi and twiggy.
Only question is- Can Salmons play the 2?

Hell yes I'd take on Thomas' deal + crap for Salmons. He's been playing great (and not just this year...last year as well) and he's on a sweet 2 year, below MLE deal.

They both expire before '10 as well.

The reporter brings up "size" yet Thomas is only 6'7"...so that seems a reach tho. Plus the guy hasn't played in a year...so he'd be pretty much worthless.

I also doubt they'd take Nazr as they also want to play in '10. How about this?

Felton/Ammo/May/Brown

for

Salmons/Thomas/Brown

I think we'd seriously suck depth wise at PG, but in overall talent we'd be ahead.

but can Salmons play the two?

Good question. I looked thru of a couple of their games and it looks like they've been playing him at the 3 beside Garcia.

But it doesn't matter so much to me...we do still have Raja. This would up our overall talent and would at least take the bite out somewhat if the rumors have been true and management has been shopping Crash.

I've been shuddering at the thought of Ammo being our starting 3.

I think with the point production he brings, Salmons is definitely worth it.

Can you (or anyone) come up with a 3 way where we send Felton to GSW and we get Randolph too?

Hey...might as well give the FO as many good ideas as we can!

So the main players are us, GSW and Sac and we end up with Salmons and Randolph?

What are you trying to say...I'm in LaLa Land?

Yeah...basically we'd get KT, Salmons & Randolph, send Felton to GSW and expirings to SAC. I doubt we can unload any of Hammer or Nazr either. GSW isn't totally stupid and SAC wants to play in '10.

Would Maggette work in SAC, or would he have the same problem Salmons has now?

I like both for us Muttley, but I'd be amazed if GSW gave up those guys for what they'd get in return. I also think that SAC will really balk at taking on Nazr's deal unless something sweet is coming back in return.

Who the hell knows tho with Nellie running the show.

How about this deal?

We get a SG who is on the downside of his career and is injury prone but may do good with a change of scenery. Also, he's a HUGE expiring for 2010. A SF who plays the "right" way, i.e. the LB way, and a PF project.

McGrady/Battier/Dorsey

for

Felton/Morrison/Carroll/GW

Of course, I hate to give up GW, but this is also a 4 for 3 deal so we could sign possibly Demarcus Nelson or Shaun Livingston

I'm working on it. It's hard with just these three teams. Might have to include a 4th team.

Good trade there, but who'd we waive (and have to pay still) to make it work? Unless we give away May for a 2nd round pick to someone who just wants expirings, and maybe we give similar treatment to Juwan or Shannon (twiggy stays damnit!)

I've got a three team trade for Charlotte, Sacramento, and Golden State.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=2753~568~3016~575~1726~849~497 ~3455~3277&teams=9~23~23~30~30~9~23~30~30&te=&cash=

Why for Charlotte: We bring in a very talented, but raw, player in Randolph who could be the future at SF for us. I don't like bringing in Moore but I think it is necessary if Sacramento is going to take Nazr. Salmons can play some SG I think and he would be great on our team IMO. Watson brings us depth at the PG, and is aonly a one year deal.

Why for Sacramento: They get a SF to go along with Kevin Martin, and that could be a dangerous duo for years to come along with Spencer Hawes at the C. Morrison is just a backup for them, although he brings needed depth at the SF for them. Nazr is a stong big in the middle, unlike what they have now in Miller and Hawes. He'd come of the bench but could provide toughness that they need. This team is the most unlikely to do this deal.

Why for Golden State: They get rid of Maggette, and they bring in a player that is more of a PG than any other on player their team. I think they would take Thomas' 2 year deal over Maggette's any day.

I like this trade, and I think it's kinda realistic.

I would do that deal, but I don't think Sac would. They get back two bad contracts that last beyond 2010. Also, I think Mikki Moore would be a good addition to our team. I could see him thriving under LB and playing very well

I like that one coordinator, but I don't know that SAC would take all that salary. Wouldn't this pretty much kill '10 for them? I think the odds are long that they'd net a bigtime FA, but just like us teams & fans want to "hope" they can pull LBJ.

IMO Kenny Thomas will have to go with Salmons if they're not getting value back in talent.

Slam, is Thompson their pick from the previous draft? I don't know that they'd give him and Salmons up for just BWright & Felton, esp. after they've payed that Euro guy that fat deal. Maybe they'd do it if he was gone; then Hammer's years might not be so hard for them to take.

jstar...I won't be a good judge for your trade because I just flat do not want Tracy McGrady. I like the guy and I love to watch him play...but his injury history is brutal.

Heh. what jstar said!

BTW, I think Moore's 2nd year isn't guaranteed (or at least only partially guaranteed). If that's the case then they're going to look at him as an expiring.

I like it, and again to make it work with the roster we'd need to waive may or possibly cheaper shannon or juwan....but they have more talent so that has to be evaluated by the FO.

Yeah, that's my problem with that trade too. I don't know how much more they would need though, they would be solid at the 2,3,4, and 5 with Martin, Maggette, Thompson, and Hawes. They are all under 30 i believe, and if Beno Udrih can play like he did at the end of last year it could be a really good team in the west. Add Donte' Greene to that off the bench at the 3/4 and Garcia they could challenge Portland as the great rising youngs teams in the West.
