He's projecting around 10 or so right now (even though it's WAY early.)

Is he worth a look as an athletic PF who can finish around the rim?

He's been the best player on Kentucky since he's been there. But in the 5 or so Kentucky games I've seen, I haven't seen a WOW factor from him.

Funny - I was just reading about him during the week!! I've never seen him play though.

Pity he's not 3 inches taller. If he was he sounds like he would be a wonderful replacement to EO50 (if we looked to trade him).

Dnb/Swedd - he reads like a more aggressive/powerful Al Jefferson. Does that sound about right?

In a way...

He's more forceful and brutish like a poor man's Amare. He's not as smooth to me as Al is. So it really depends on what you're looking for

Interesting. With reading that he can finish with both hands and can play with his back to the basket etc, I thought he was more of a finesse player with the ability to throw down. From what you are saying, he is more a raw power type?

I'd personally like a big who can create his own offense - ala Big Al.

I'm not calling him Amare lol I'm just saying the way he looks to me is a guy who depends on athleticism. He's NOT as good as Amare.

I really don't pay much attention to him to be honest, I just watch them for Jodie Meeks. I see Patterson go out and work hard and use his athleticism to score

I'm watching him now as UK play Vandy (flicking over to Harden as A-State play Oregon).

Will post my thoughts on Patterson later.

Sweet.

Would it be better to start a "Collegiate Bigs" thread? Or, just keep going with individual players

HAHA! Nevermind. I just saw all of your "Official" player threads. Nice work.

Ok, so I'm thinking I picked a bad 1st game to watch Patterson!! He was in foul trouble so he wasn't a huge factor.

1st impressions:

Works really, really hard to establishing position on the block. Very mindful of where his man is when the ball is in the air. GREAT passing out of the double. In fact, if the NCAA had hockey type assists, he'd rack up a heap of them!! Mid range J seems to be pretty sweet.

Only question would be: He has really long arms, but other than that, is he undersized?

I'm thinking, at this very early stage (need to see him another 4 or 5 times), that he reminds me of Elton Brand?

I only started watching college ball a couple of years ago dnb. You have no idea how much I enjoy talking about prospects with you, ohara, Swedd and the rest of the gang!!

That seems to happen to him a lot in the games I've seen
