Its going to be pretty difficult tonight to give a healthy amount of attention to the Bobcats with The Panthers just hours away from demolishing the Cardinals in a home playoff game.
This HAS to be a win for us because after this game we'll be facing the Pistons, Blazers & Spurs... Good Times.
I'm curious, how many folks will be watching this game instead of the Panthers, and how many will be flipping back and forth?

Ill be watching the Cats start to finish, and check up on the black cats via internet...and of course watch them after the Orange cats are done :)

Bobcats 1st always...Panthers after.
Best test of if the trade was worth it tonight because Jamison usually gives our bigs fits and we need Boris to stop that type of big from abusing us.
Ammo in the game already........................and checking in for Crash??

Why was Gerald benched 4 minutes into the game ??
Nick Young had a very, very good game against the Bulls last night - especially in the 4th.
I watched it after our game and Young looked to be everything I thought he would be coming out of USC.

I'm really, really not sure. It's a head scratcher. He didn't seem to be hurt?
How the hell does any player in the NBA air ball a FT?

TWO rebounds for the starters in the 1st quarter? Is that right?
I didn't realize Raja was 5th in the NBA for 3ptrs (% I assume).

I think Diaw is worth the difference between 2nd and 5th.
;)
They are shooting over 70% from the field. Jesus.
Really good D by Felts getting in front of Blatche for the charge then.

Raymond is 203rd
Adam is 157th
Matt is 233rd
D.J. is 77th
Boris is 57th
That's it for our shooters.
DJ is done for the night. Ab strain.
Great.
Time to really see what "Lil Sean" is made of.
TattoodCats4life
01-10-2009, 07:53 PM
Something totally wrong with us, not getting it done inside...
DJ has an abdominal strain, will not return to the game this evening. Will get checked out further when they return to Charlotte... Add that to Matt not dressed, bad luck...
BTW DJ's strain occurred during the Boston game, just tweaked it and hurts too much to play.

I foresee Lil Sean shining for us tonight...Okay i digress, I pray he shines.

A quick five from Bell.
They are shooting 9,000,000% from the floor and we are only down 7 - so it's not looking that bad.
Man we are taking a LOT of 3pt shots though. Be nice to get the ball inside.

There is a MAJOR differential on points in the paint, last I saw it was 16 them 4 us but that was about 4 min ago.

Crap, we could have gotten within 4 twice.
Agreed Slam...amazing we're within 10 with the way they're shooting.
This seems like a very pivotal stretch coming up. If we continue to play like we have the last 2 games LB might start pushing hard for some type of trade. We could end up losing like 5 straight.
With Songaila guarding EO50 we should be getting the ball to EO50 in the low post every time down the floor.

Hah! Raja with the 3 to get us to 4 down! Good way to end with some MO.
Jamison went to the locker room to be "examined"...don't know anything else yet.

And Raja puts us within 4. This game is winnable, their shooting streak will cool off in the 3rd, it has to, it's Wizards we're talking about here.

Very nice one by Raja! 4 down on the half, not bad considering their %FG.
I'm satisfied by Diaw and Raja, make good points at good moments. And our bench seems to be good this night!
Let's go Cats!

The Carolinas cannot take too much sadness on one evening. We need some joy for the Carolinas. How about a dominating performance by the Panthers and a come from behind win by the Bobcats? Oh yeah, it can happen!

Panthers are NFL team? I wish you all a victory for them but I'll be happy if just Bobcats win ^^.
Fuck me. Now Felts is down.
When it rains it pours.
Looks like his right ankle. Team mates carrying him off. Doesn't look like he'll be back.
Come get yours "Lil Sean".

Nice look from Singletary to Mek.
Did you guys just see Crash pull up on the semi fast break just then? He NEVER does that.

I thing he's done for the night. He doesn't usually show pain, and he looked like he was hurting.
At least Shannon is on the active list tonight.

Raymond Felton is a fucking warrior.
I have tremendous respect for the kid.
Ammo with the bail out!! His shot has looked good tonight. He's moving well (and a lot) without the ball to create space for himself.

I like this iso'ing Boris on Antawn. So far it's worked 3 out of 4 times.
Nick Young is a stud in the making.
He has a beautiful midrange jumper...very silky smooth.
See, that's the stuff you have to love about Ammo. He waited and waited for Boris to get in the right position before making the pass.
Then when Boris rubbed off his defender, Ammo put the pass on the money.
Ammo really is a very smart player.

3 pt lead and the ball with 1:22 left. You know the Wiz are thinking "Oh no, not again". Just keep our poise and take good shots and we'll have this game.
EO50 just got freaking shoved on that offensive rebound.

I saw that too. It also looked like Blatche stepped on the baseline right before that shot, but I didn't see the replay.
We can do this...good D on this possession (they only have 10 seconds left on the shot clock) then they have to foul.
Fuck. WAS with the home call. They have it with 11 seconds left.

Way to rally Cats! Way to rally!
YES!!!!!
Let me tell ya...I was worried when they went with Young.
No kidding. As soon as he took that step back (his bread and butter) and created separation, I thought we were screwed.
Did the ball really come off EO50 with the out of bounds? Looked to me that it came off Blatche's left hand?

I saw that replay twice. At first I thought we got screwed...2nd replay I thought they both pushed it out...then the 3rd I could see that it looked like Mek had the last "push" on the ball. Probably the right call but it was damn close.
But we won anyway! With Crash not taking a shot, DJ out with injury and Felton limping thru most of the 2nd half that's pretty darn remarkable!
And like Ohara said...great rally. Actually, rallies...because we made 2 huge runs at the end of the 2nd & 3rd quarters to get back into the game.
Great win, and it should give our guys some good feelings going on.

Well a night of adversity, but good play by many of our players pulled together for the W... Ray, while I'm fully on the trade bandwagon, really showed what he was made of tonight, 1 point shy of a dub/dub...

Seriously, I'm 100% off the "trade ammo" wagon.. He needed some time, and he clearly needs more than 5 min/game, but I think he could and SHOULD live up to his third pick status by the end of this season. I'd like to see 17 pts in 30 min with 6 reb and 2 ast, allowing 1-2 TO and 3-4PF based on going inside on occasion...

Honestly have no idea...just pulled that from the boxscore. Really, my biggest beef will always be defensively with him, just like with Hammer. I can't stand having players who can't keep their guy in front of them and will just reach out and grab the guy as they go past.
I give DJ hell about that too, so it's not like I'm zeroing in on just the white guys.
But enough of that. We won!

Oh it did look nice! Like I said I was very happy to see him on. When someone like Crash is AWOL we have such little margin for error everyone has to step up. He did that tonight.
Without our bench we'd have taken another lickin'. Didn't you post that LB said this was his most satisfying win to date? I'll betcha that had a lot with those guys stepping up.

Rag on me if you like, but Ammo has the potential...He's not dead and he's not 300 pounds... I think we've got a good set of guys playing to their max potential, but there are 3 standouts that i feel if developed (and that's Larry's specialty) will become 7-8/10 players, that is Ammo at the 3, Lil Sean playing as undersized 2 (al la AI) and Lexy playing as a role player insanly oversized 3. I could talk forever about my thoughts on Lexy as a 4/5 but this isnt the place...
Needless to say give ammo the props for putting up 1 point ever 2 min of play on a night when alot of others were a bit ragged for some reason..
Didn't you post that LB said this was his most satisfying win to date? I'll betcha that had a lot with those guys stepping up.

and to think some people can't wait to get him out of here.
WASHINGTON -- The Charlotte Bobcats (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=cha) appeared to be in big trouble when point guard Raymond Felton (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2753) was carried off the court with 10:17 left in the third quarter after stepping on a cameraman along the baseline.
But right after Washington took its largest lead of 13 points with 4½ minutes left in the third quarter, Felton returned despite a sprained right ankle, and sparked a 16-2 run in the Bobcats' 92-89 victory Saturday night.
"I felt like when they saw me come back, they were like, 'OK, if he's going to come back and play like this, he's hurt, so we've got to do the same for him,'" Felton said of his teammates. "It gave everybody an extra boost, it gave them motivation."
McGee's boost could not compare to the lift Felton gave the Bobcats.
"I didn't expect him to come back. I was really worried about it," Bobcats coach Larry Brown said. "Raymond's a special person, and we had no chance if he didn't play."
Although the injury looked bad as Felton was carried off the court, he said there was no doubt in his mind he would be able to come back, given the opportunity.
MY HERO!
"Did I think they were going to let me come back and play? I didn't think so," Felton said. "But the Doc looked at it and said it was a mild sprain and he said, 'It's really up to you.' Once he said that, it was a wrap. I was going back out there."
Pathetic fucks. This is why I would NEVER agree that "tanking" is justified. It just wreaks of being worthless.
Taken from a Wiz board after we BEAT them:
All in all, great tank loss.
Yup. Picture perfect. We played a good game for 3-1/2 quarters. Nick, Blatche, McGee and McGuire all played well. Jamison and Butler played less than 35 minutes each. And we lost by 3. Couldn't have planned it better.
I'd like to do this every night, with the occasional win against a top team on national TV just to keep everybody's confidence up and to demonstrate to the league that we have plenty of talent (in case we need it as trade bait).
You call it "tank loss"? I call it "we are a BETTER team than you and we beat you fair and square you piss ants".
I fucking hate tank talk. It's a desperate cry for pathetic justification.

Man Slam I dunno....I kept thinking in the 4th Quarter that the Wiz had just quit playing. Yup I was thinking "tank job". But then they seemed to try at the end? Not sure.
Honestly, I'm REALLY worried about the Cats right now. They've just played terribly and with little will against two average-to-poor teams. Diaw and Crash sucked last night; and Wallace is MIA tonight? WTH is this?! Nazr sucks, Howard sucks; we're still too small in the paint...and I've said this at the Arena and I'll say it here; AMMO runs like he has a load in his pants. Enough.
Where the hell is Ryan Hollins?
Keetch - the Wiz tried all night. Heck, they were shooting 70% for the first two!! We just tightened it up, had a deeper bench and got it done when it needed to be done.
Agreed that there is a lot to be worried about (and I too miss Twiggy out there!!), but we were the better team tonight and if it happened to be a best of 7 playoff series pitting out current roster against theirs, we'd be the better team then too.
Using tanking as an excuse, as they did, is pathetic IMO.

I'm happy AMMO had a few nice stats. Kudos to Ammo. I know what I see; and I've seen plenty.
Slam I agree we're a better team than the Wizards. I guess that's why I was so upset through most of this game. By the time it was over; winning it didn't even matter to me. I saw too much to be sick over.
Sorry about the Howard comments. I just don't like him because he has a nasty habit of standing up at the bench and blocking my view of the game. And I'm just in a pissy enough mood that that's enough. Howard is a stop-gap guy at PF. We need much much better to be successful. Same with Nazr.
Really I'm mostly pissed about Jake Delhomme throwing a freaking playoff game, but that's another thread.

I've understood why people get frustrated with him at times. But for reasons such as those printed in your post, I have never understood the outright vitrol that some posters have had for him. Furthermore, in a franchise where marquee players have ALWAYS missed at least 15% of the season, his toughness and durability have often been taken for granted.
All that said, great win for the Cats under the circumstances. The Panthers......
