Ohara brought him up, so I thought I would kick a thread off.

I've only seen the one game (against UNC) and I saw it on replay so I knew there was a buzz about him so I watched him closely knowing he was going to go off - which probably made me biased?

There were stretches of the game that made him look untouchable. He was fearless when going to the rack using an amazing 1st step and athletic ability to hang in the air and finish with touch. It was like he was double, triple and quadruple clutching at times!! He just attacked the rim at a lightning quick pace and UNC couldn't do a damn thing about it!!

He's obviously a confidence player and when his confidence is up he just rolls. Be interested to see how he reacts and what his body language is like if he misses 4 or 5 shots in a row.

From the little I saw, he reminded me of Monta Ellis.

Slam: Monte Ellis would be a very good example of the type of game I saw from Teague. Very good point you made.

Did you see the game ohara? How did he score his points?

i dont know if i would draft him, but i am not GM for a reason.

This guy can ball, but i think we should get a more established shooting guard as a free agent pick up this summer, have Raja come off the bench, and trade until we can have a Player to be Named-Raja Bell-Shannon Brown rotation. Out of Morrison and Carrol we should only keep one.

Anyway, thats just me.

I did not. But I do know he is getting a lot of talk for ACC Player of the Year already. And only a Soph. I'll try to find a more descriptive breakdown of his game if I can find one.

7. Jeff Teague (http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2008&playerId=19334), Wake Forest
Teague is the fastest riser on the board. He has been on a tear lately and has led Wake Forest to an undefeated record, with huge wins over BYU and North Carolina. He's averaging over 30 points a game in his past three outings and has shown he can score from anywhere. One minute he's nailing a 3; the next he's taking it to the basket for the bucket or a foul.

While scouts fear he's more of a scorer than a distributor, it hasn't affected his stock with the way he's been playing. He has moved up to No. 18 on our big board and could continue to rise into the lottery if he keeps this up.

Today Teague scored 24 pts. Led undefeated #3 Wake forest into undefeated #9 Clemson. Wake wins by 10 in a very close game. Teague plays the game with such poise, and he doesn't seem to get rattled. Leading the way for ACC POY and will certainly start to enter talk for National POY. Only 6-2, but loves to go to the rim, and possesses a nice outside shot as well. Good a taking it to the hole and finding the open man as he did today against a solid team like Clemson. He's a player.

I flicked between the ASU Vs UCLA game and Wake Vs Clemson (mainly watched the ASU game) but man, Teauge really is impressive.

Unlike other PG/SG's with questionable size, Teague is VERY athletic - which will really help him out in the NBA. He had a thrown down put back dunk today that didn't count because there was a foul called on the play, but he got up high and quick.

Impressive - and fearless.

I'm starting to like this kid a lot.

How frigging good has this kids last week - two weeks been?

Averaging close to 30ppg on awesome shooting, getting boards and assists.

He's starting to look like a real stud!

He has risen to #9 on Chad Ford's Top 100 on ESPN. When you do the ESPN Draft Lottery, he goes off the board as high as #6 or as low as #11. Still, he has worked his way into the Lottery, no doubt. Barring injury, this Super Soph is NBA bound.

I think he'll be a top 5 pick reguardless of size dude has a Arenas killer instinct, attacks the rim like Monta/Russell Westbrook with a CP3 heart thrown in for good measures. Right now it's Griffin, Harden, Evans & Teague on my want list. I'd take him over Curry since he plays bigger.

Agreed eb. Teague looks like a legit top 10 pick where as Curry looks more like a mid-late 1st to me.

Huge game for Wake tomorrow. Be interesting to see how Teauge responds.

I think Arenas is a god comparison for him, although he's a little smaller. I don't think I would mind too much if we got him, but he's not really big enough for a 2.

Yeah I have seen Teague twice in person this season (Indiana and VT) and both times I was extremely impressed with him. He is a baller and will mos def be a good NBA player. He just seems a little small (weight) to be a legit 2 in the NBA. He needs to get on some steroids or something. Here is a good article about him in the Winson-Salem Journal.

Teague has been in a pretty big shooting slump over the past month -- his 3-point shot hasn't been falling. He has also been forcing the ball more and more and his seven turnovers versus Cleveland State really hurt Wake in the opening round of the tournament. It was clear from watching the game that Teague still needs a lot of work before he's ready for the NBA.
His coach is imploring him to come back for his junior year to work on his ballhandling and playmaking abilities. He'll get no argument from NBA executives.
Teague's stock has cooled over the past few weeks and everyone I've spoken with thinks he really needs another year at school. The same could also be said about Al-Farouq Aminu (http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2009&playerId=19268) and James Johnson (http://insider.espn.go.com/nbadraft/draft/tracker/player?draftyear=2009&playerId=19309) -- though both are in better shape with their draft stocks at the moment.

James Johnson is the one guy nobody ever talks about that I've been watching. I told y'all about Brackins, but I wanted to keep Johnson a secret. You guys need to check him out though, dude is a HOSS. He's a lot like how Timmy D was in (the same) college

Before the year, the consensus was that Teague was a talented, young PG with great promise who just needed time to figure out the position.

After leading Wake Forest to a torrid start with wins over both North Carolina and Duke and an 18-1 record including a #1 ranking, Teague was riding a wave of momentum. It appeared as though he was playing too well NOT to declare for the NBA draft this year. But after Wake Forest's colossal collapse, Teague's stock has taken a dramatic hit.

Scouts seem to be all over the board with him as some still see him as a lottery pick while others aren't convinced he's even a lock for the first round anymore, going so far as to say he's been "exposed as a fraud".

He's a smart kid, so although he's still got miles to go in learning how to direct an offense, he has shown the ability to take over games and should improve in his point guard abilities. All three Wake Forest players are said to be likely gone, although Teague appears to be the one still wavering on his decision.asdadasdadas

I'm hearing he will test the waters but will go back to school if he isn't a lock to go top 10.

Which makes me think he's going back to school.

His stock really took a dive with Wake's overall play in the latter half of conference play and the tournament. I'd slide him in 3rd behind Farouq-Aminu and James Johnson on my big board

too many question marks for me. He's small like Lawson but not built anywhere near as powerful. He has a nice shot, but he trailed off way too much at the end of the year for me to put him that high.

P.S. Check ESPN's mock draft. They don't even have Tyreke in the lottery. It does need to be updated though because some of those guys are staying in school. But maybe we'll get lucky?;)
