I just wanted to take a moment to show some overall love to the bobcats and their fans and what is shaping up to be our best season ever.

Lets take a look at where we we've been, 18, 26, 33 and 32 win seasons...
Where we are 15-24, so in less than half the season we're right on par for the 32/33 wins give her take. But that's misleading. Since the trade we are 50%, including some big wins that some <haters> would say we shouldn't have won.

Needless to say there are 43 games left, which at 50% gives us 21 or 22 wins, so that would be a 36 or 37 win season, and right around 44-45% for the overall season, WAY better than the 33% we're so used to.

Where does that put us in the end? Its hard to say because injuries can happen to any team, including ours, as well as trades and all sorts of other things. What I can deduct from looking at the current standings is that if we continue at 50% and other teams play on par with their whole seasons we'd <sob> miss the playoffs by something like 0.5-1.5 games. (Currently the Bucks if they continue would be a 38-39 win team). We're already leaps and bounds above most teams in the west that will likely miss the playoffs (Dallas in 9th has 22 wins, Minn in 10th has 11, so that's a cut and dry race). If we slot 9th in the east we'll probably slot up with the 13th or 14th pick, which I'm not sure how high we protected our pick to Denver but I think we keep any lottery picks this year.

The above not withstanding, if we start playing even better as our unit gels and some of the bench players get on board, we could go 60%, which puts us at 40-41 wins, and in the east that will give us 8th, or maybe even 7th depending on how things work out.

So we do have some definite hope of doing VERY well this year and we should all support our Bobcats all the way...

LETS....GO.....CATS!

Love the optimism don't disagree w/ the logic. Heck, you could argue that we typically have our run in late March/April and the outlook could get better.

That being said, I am going to maintain my expectations at a low level. Things look good so I'm not going to jinx it.

Out of top 10 pick. There are six worse teams in western conference and one will be better tham. We are already better than Wizards and Pacers which makes us 9th worst team. Add +1 for any eastern team we will overcome and you get our pre-darf lottery position. As long as we are not making play offs we are keeping our pick this year. Using that .500 approach we are on pace to be 10th team i eastern conference getting pick No.12 baring lottery changes. Assuming every team will keep the pace the have from the start of the season and not regarding schedule specifics.

here's something i just noticed...we haven't won 3 games in a row this season so far.

our three games after saturdays are tough...san antonio/memphis/phoenix

we play all of them at home...but that shouldn't make a differene when facing SAC or PHO...i expect a big game from Diaw against phoenix

After Saturday? What about Portland being a tough game? One could argue that Portland is the toughest game of the bunch. I'd say SA is tougher, but Portland is the second toughest. I'd love to go 3-1 given that the games are at home.

well, i'm hoping that the three day break will help us.

portland has back to back games on today/tomorrow and then our game on friday. they also had a game monday.

definitely a tough matchup, i feel that we could handle this game

Also Portland's games are all away, so they are doing the "Play, plane, Play, plane" thing and will hopefully be in less than tip top shape.

I think the cats are going to play extra hard, especially our new ones, against the Suns so that game is probably the one I'm more comfortable with...If i remember hearing correctly last season I think the spurs are a team we've yet to beat, if Im wrong let me know, but I'm sure we haven't beaten them many times.

Nope we've never beat Dallas or Phoenix. SA we beat once in SA, never have beat them here, 95-92 in OT in the 06-07 season 8th game. I think we could very possibly reach 22-30 by the allstar break. Thats 7-6 over the next 13 games.....

U don't think J-Rich will try and show out on his old team? I'm looking forward to seeing Bell guard him. I can't really say Diaw will go off cuz since the first couple games Diaw only scores 15pts or so a game. Atleast some of the Bigs from the bench will get some pt... gotta bring back the "hack a shaq"
