Nice article about Diaw, how/why he's fitting in so quickly and his new team mates' thoughts about him.
I really like this part:
"I think I'm here for the long-term. I think it was just rumors and people talking about trades and more trades right after we got here. I think they really brought us here to help the team and that's what we're trying to do on a daily basis."

I hope he's here for a long time. He's showing he's a terrific player who makes those around him better. And that is a quality we need on this team!

Yeah, I have been totally impressed by him since he came here. I was really excited about Bell in the beginning and was iffy about Diaw but Diaw has totally shown he can play. I am guessing all he needed was minutes that he was getting from Phoenix. Was really skeptical too since Suns fans called him Boris Meow.

I expect Diaw and Bell to have great games tomorrow. They got something to prove their former employer.
If he can play with aggression then he is going to be the perfect 4 we have been longing for.
But the start of next season is going to be the big test when it comes to him IMO.

Right now Raja and Diaw are both important to our teams good play as of late, weather it be their defense or their scoring. I too think they will both be here for a long time....

if he is here for the long term that is wonderful. And him happy about the prospects of that is exactly why we should keep him.
How many high caliber players would enjoy being traded from a playoff team to a young team on the rise? And that team has a coach that demands 110%? Most players wouldn't respond with making personal improvements to themselves/feeling good about it. But Boris is not most players and i hope we keep him till he retires.

Good find, spectre! As good as his game is, he's an even better person. I've been fortunate enough to meet him a couple times, and he's as friendly and personable as they come...plus he gets bonus points for remembering meeting me the first time!
As the days go by, The Trade continues to be so good for us it's becoming laughable.

The only problem i have with Diaw is he's letting his scoring drop. Last few games he's been looking to pass way to often, especially late in the shot clock. He has good low post foot work, He should be just as good in the post as Okafor, expect Diaw isn't going to dunk on anyone. Diaw is a better rebounder then i thought he would be. He's letting Wallace and Okafor be the low post threats. Diaw and Wallace really work well together. Wallace is defense and hustle. Diaw is court awareness and a nice outside jumper. Either could guard the others man on defense. I really like this line up.
good find spectre
I really really hope we keep at least Diaw for a long time to come, but Bell would be nice too
He is just a selfless, fan-oriented guy, and we need more of those in the league, but we have many in Charlotte, which is always good

Thing is with the lineup we start we've got the entire front court playing off position. Yes on paper it looks right, but if you watch who plays how it really looks like this
PG - Felton.
SG/SF - Raja Bell
PF/SF - Wallace
PF/SF - Diaw
PF/C - Meka
Now I'm cool with it, because its working, but I don't know how its going to pan out against a big team with a fast SF, BIG PF, and HUGE C (like the Suns actually).
The one game I'm looking forward to is Cats/Orlando... I want to see if the "new" Emeka can finally stand up to Howard and show that we got the steal at 2, and that Howard is just media hype ;)

PF/SF - Wallace

I have to disagree.. Wallace is a SF, we tried him at PF and that didn't work out at all. SF is him. Raja is a natural SG because he's a tough perimeter defender and knocks down the long ball. Diaw seems like he doesn't have a natural position; he can play anywhere but C but I like him as a PF.
There's a lot of debate about Mek's position but I personally see him as more of a Center than anything else

I don't disagree, I just mean Wallace does a good bit of PF work, like posting up at both ends etc. I'm happy to see EO getting a bit more PF in his play, his low post play is getting much better and he's shooting for more than a foot out now and hitting them. Diaw is a true chameleon he can do it all save the center... I'd love to see us run a big line with him as PG, meka 4 and diop 5, that'd confuse the opponent ;)
I like Diaw at the 4 because he is able to post up, kick it out, or hang out at the 3 line and sink them
I just wish he was about an inch taller and 15 pounds heavier

Maybe he can borrow the 15 pounds from May :)

Well, a surgeon could find 15 pounds of muscle on may, but if you took that away he'd probably never walk again.

haha yea
How much does Diaw play at anyway?

Diaw is listed as 6-8 235...which seems about as accurate as your going to get in the NBA.
yea on ea's games the have him listed at that but the announcers say 69 230...im going with 68 tho
