Looking at his game logs, he can definitely fill up the scoreboard...

With the way the bench is not scoring, is it possible he could see some PT?

He's also used to playing huge minutes, some games (clearly OT) 50 min +

Check out that box score... Playing 7 guys for a 2OT game, I don't think that'd be even legal to have 7 playable in the NBA!

That'd be crazy if he played tonight.
"Hi Martin, a NBA team just signed you".
"Yes! Finally! When do I play"?
"ohhh...in about 3 hours".

We have full practice tomorrow in DEN, DJ is set to get in a full practice before his return, so I'd say they'll give this guy a full practice to get up to speed and he'll play with DJ in Denver.
Oh yeah +1 on the humor

i'm surprised, i didn't think that we would sign someone on a 10-day contract. makes me worry that they know GW might not be back for a while...who knows if even be back for the season

I honestly would fall on the floor if I heard he was to be back before the break... I'm thinking he's out until the last few weeks of the season (and the playoffs)... I'd rather see us not seed in the playoffs than play wallace too early and have him aggravate the condition and be less than healthy...
Personally I would have liked to have signed Arizona's Marcus Williams to a day he as at least he had the summer with us so he might fit in a little quicker. Alan Anderson would have been another option for me.
It will be good to see what this kid has under the hood though. Maybe we find a diamond?
I've never heard of him and don't know a thing about him.

Just think his reaction if he is here for his first home game...
"Oh yeah, I get to play in front of a live NBA crowd for the first time!"
(Running out of the tunnel)
(Stares at the empty seats...)
"Um... Are you sure that I'm not back in Iowa?"

interesting..
the good news: this makes me feel better about it, this kid might have some potential. we worked him out for the 07 draft.
the bad news: fine ham did the workout...i hope to god that we didn't bring him based on any opinion fine ham might have had at that time

The name sounds familiar but I personally don't know too much about him..
On January 28, 2009, he was reportedly called up by the Charlotte Bobcats after he signed a 10-day contract. He was averaging 20.6 points after 21 games with the Energy.
damn Wikipedia's quick these days! 20.6 is pretty solid even for the NBDL and he has pretty good size so maybe he works out
I hope he is what we need, at least give AmMo a reason to try?

Larry said something about him in the pregame show that he knows him some, seen him play at KU and knows this coach and that coach who say he's the one for larry's system... ILBIT with a smile on my face...

I definitely remember the name but forgot he played at K State. I loved the FT shooting and was impressed enough with the scoring and 3pt shooting. Not expecting anything at all, but hoping we get more out of him than say Linton Johnson

Actually I created Martin's page :D After I heard that we will call him up, and noticed that his page hadn't been constructed yet, I started his page with basic templates.
Anyway, last year he was in Turkey but I've never seen him playing live. All I can say is, his team was a little over average, his stats are good but not great comparing with his minutes as well as his shooting percentages. Last year he didn't catch so much attention by authorities here. As I said in other thread, he was cut because of using marijuana and it seems like he had difficulties in adaptation Turkish lifestyle.
His D-League stats are great and hopefully he can contribute in Gerald's absence.

Here here.... Honestly if a player did weed in the offseason thats fine, if he did it the first night of a long break is fine too... Doing it the morning of a game, thats another thing...

When I was in high school long long long time ago (10yrs), I had white team mates that drank before every game and black team mates that smoked weed. Native Americans did both. Not that their race has anything to do with it, Just some people like different things. Never made sense to me to drink or smoke right before a game. They both make me sleepy and lazy

This board gets better and better every day. I'm obviously a stoner but there's no way I wake up and smoke before going to work or something you know? Plus I'd rather have a player smoke pot than drink, I don't know if I'm just speaking for myself but drinking makes horrible things happen if I guess improperly supervised by reliable friends. Now before you post on a message board, I think, is quite a proper time to "toke up" if you will. Which is why my posts are so sporadic, rambling, and handsome.

Not making excuses but..
i had a kid on my soccer team who took bong hits before every practice and game. When he didnt he honestly didnt play as well. It put him in such a good mood he would play better. I know some people will say its all in his head but it wasnt. He didnt even notice it.
just a side note there pertaining to shrimpy since i agree with him

Well seeing what I did last night I saw the following:
2 Threes in 3 or 4 (not looking at the box score) attempts.
3-4 times was open/able to shoot but passed (I think its "Larry likes passing" syndrome).
Some good D, especially towards the end of the game...
One more game I'll let ya know if I think we should keep him, but I'm feeling good about this one... Just want to see how he does above the rim, which his D-league play says he can do it, and well. I honestly think its just the fact that he'd rather do what he thinks larry wants and be "safe" instead of rocking the rim and having larry tell him "that wasnt want I need, here's your plane ticket home" We must never forget that a 10 day contract is akin to standing in front of the judges on American Idol, if your good you shine, if you stink they'll be quick to send you packing.
Lets hope for another 10 then a "rest of season" deal...becasue we need him to be good, we're running out of time to really play d-league revolving door.

Yeah, I was busy with school stuff lately, I couldn't log in here. Since the team is going well, we have enough people here I guess :)
Actually "Turkey the country" was not named after a bird. It means something like "land of Turks" in Turkish. But these kind of stuff is not unique. For example, the country Egypt's name is "corn" in Turkish. There is not insult, but I have to admit that it's not so nice to me either.

Not to be a smarty pants, but i thought corn was discovered in the America's. How would the turks have a word for corn if it hadn't been discovered?

Well, you are right. However, us calling Egypt "corn" is purely coincidental. Such as:
Egypt's original name in Arabic is "Miṣr" and means "the two straits", and we call Egypt as "Mısır", which means "corn". Similarity is purely accidental, something related with spelling probably.
I'd have liked to be a linguist, just like Noam Chomsky. I'm always charmed with the relations between languages.
