This was worth making a new thread as we love this guy so darn much :)

Charlotte Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace has been released from a Los Angeles hospital, but will stay in the L.A. area at least until Monday, after suffering a collapsed lung and broken rib in a collision with Lakers center Andrew Bynum Tuesday.
Wallace’s lung injury has healed, the Bobcats say, but he still must get clearance from a cardio-thoracic surgeon before flying. The earliest that could happen is during a Monday examination.
The Bobcats haven’t set a timeline for when Wallace might play again, although coach Larry Brown said Wednesday he doesn’t anticipate Wallace returning “anytime soon.’’

From the observer...Rick is actually doing a decent job with this particular situation...kudos to him.

Good to hear he is out of the hospital and I wish him the best of luck healing so he can return to the team again someday just wont be no time soon....Its just ashame that someone can half kill a guy on the court and the NBA wont do nothing about it.... I was watching the highlites of the cleveland orlando game and the magic were all over lebron all night long with no calls, even saw a play where the guy was hugging lebron before during and after he shot the ball and he didnt even get called for a foul... The NBA seriously needs to get it together with the bad calls and lack of punishment going on this season.... Its becoming almost laughable at the lack of calls the bad calls when they do call something.... I mean lets make sure certain teams win and certain teams dont.... Its totally ridiculis whats going on and if our fellow NBA fans dont see it we are becoming blind to it....

A few additional details on Gerald's release:

Gerald Wallace was released from Centinela Hospital in Los Angeles Thursday night after having a chest tube removed that supported the lung, which is now fully healed. Wallace remains in the Los Angeles area and will meet with a cardiothoracic surgeon on Monday, at which time it will be determined when he will be able to travel back to Charlotte.

Wallace had the tube inserted into his left chest Tuesday night after being diagnosed with having 30-40 percent of his lung collapsed and a non-displaced fracture of the fifth rib.

I told ya'll....I think he'll be out for at least a month - 6 weeks. 30 % of a lung that gets used alot as Crash flies up and down the court. I want him to just heal up and come back whenever. He's been doing good all year with no real injuries, Just to have a cheap shot knock him out. First he lost his Grandmother, Then his dad. This just isn't a good year for Wallace.

Best wishes Crash, we sure do miss you! What an awful season it's been for Wallace, he probably has to wonder what else can happen. Hate it for him.

What I mean is Lebron being a star would have gotten calls in his favor last year and in a way it is good to see him the recipient of no calls. Michael Jordan is the greatest NBA player of all time but lets face it, his reputation afforded him special treatment. It is about time the refs overlook some of the penalties committed against the likes of Lebron and Kobe imho.

Prayers and best wishes to Gerald in this difficult time (seems like this has been repeated too much for him this year). This situation is than anything going on on the court. Get better!
