View Full Version : Justice? Bynum injured vs Memphis

Was looking at scores and notice in LA game that Bynum played only 3 minutes. Went to read their Boards over at RGM and there is a Thread besides the Game Thread for "Bynum Injured Again". Apparently his injured his right knee. From what the fans were writing, it is not pretty and they expect the worst. X-rays negative but MRI tomorrow. The fans were saying that reading Kobe's expression seemed to tell them the worst news was coming after the MRI. They expect ligament damage. If bad, likely surgery and gone for the year.

I am no proponent of cheering for injuries to anyone. But I wonder if this is not cosmic justice we are seeing tonight. No Bynum means no title in LA. And the injury to him of all people is very ironic - or as I mentioned. something like cosmic justice. See what the MRI shows tomorrow.

Apparently he collided with Kobe. Depending upon the angle, it may just be a sprain. Have to see what the MRI shows. But the fact it was a collision with Kobe makes this all the more something wreaking of karma.

I really don't like to see any player injured.

Unless that player is Richard Jefferson.

You mean that RJ autographed sweatshirt I was going to mail you would never be worn? Well, I guess you could always keep it in case you ever ran out of toilet paper and an emergency arose!

Mate - with a 2 1/2 year old and a 6 month old at my place it would be worn alright - just as a diaper!!

Neither do I, and that includes Dick Head (besides, him getting traded to Milwaukee was MUCH better! ).

Regardless of "intent" he did take out our best player and probably killed our playoff chances. It just seems fitting (and cosmic justice is a fine term) it's repaid in kind.

That's hilarious!!

On Bynum: Might have been more fitting if Marc Gasol SMOKED Kobe last night on a hard foul causing mass internal injury. We lose our best player - they lose theirs.

Plus, if it was on a hard foul, we'd get to see the Lakers fans up in arms insisting a suspension and crying "why oh why, the world is so unfair".

Karma is a bitch. Oh yeah, baby! I dind't expect it to be so early.

I just realized that, it made my day. I just hope for a nice discussion of Lakers fans on the page Ziggy provided the link from on the other thread. What a momment! Kobe, Kobe, Kobe!

Yea i may be about to piss off some people here but...
i heard people talking about that foul on the forum and the way people were talking about it i thought maybe bynum elbow dropped wallace or did one of those MMA moves where they basically punch someone with their elbow. I mean yall made it sound pretty malicious but..
I watched it and it kinda looked like he went for the ball initially but realized Gerald was too quick for him and tried to just slow him down.
All in all- a dumb play by a young kid
doesnt make me think any worse of bynum

So what would it mean if you fell down the steps tonight?

I fell nothing about Bynum's injury. I do believe he intended to hurt Wallace. So now thats he is hurt is that Karma? Call it whatever you want, does seem strange that a week later Bynum get's knocked out a game though doesn't it?

Just goes to show how delecate the human body is. May be it was fate or karma shows us that weather its on purpose or just a accident, players get injured in the NBA....

Boy, what to say? Well, there's no use denying I deived some pleasure from watching numbnuts writhing on the ground moaning and cussing and then having to be carried off the floor by a couple unfortunate teammates. Still, it doesn't negate the vendetta, and I still look for a "statement" by us on one of theirs come March.

But yes, in terms of the universal scheme, justice was served when Kobe flew back into Bynum's knee and sent him down like a little bitch.

NEW YORK (AP) - Los Angeles Lakers spokesman John Black has announced that Lakers center Andrew Bynum will be out the rest of the season with a partial tear of his MCL. Dr. David Altchek, Bynum's physician, confirmed the results of yesterday's MRI this morning.

Poor guy.

Edit: I can't confirm that by a link...so this might be bogus.

MRI results are due monday, so I guess all that's left for Lakers fans is to play the wait&hope game.

For the record: I did not fall and hope nobody actually did.

You can believe whatever you want, each has their own set of beliefs, but i dont think what Bynum did was as evil as it was reckless. I am not expecting anybody to feel sad and go all 'boo-hoo a elite center is gone' but at the same time people saying 'oh this is great! Karma karma karma' pushes my buttons. If Bynum was really trying to kill Gerald, he is big enough to have done it their, in my eyes he was just trying to play the part of 'enforcer' without knowing the consequnces. Is it bad? Yes. Does it merit 1-2 games off? Yes. But am i playing with a Andrew Bynum vodo doll poking its knees? No, but some members here are (or making it seem like it) and i find that NOT ok.

On YahooSports, they are saying the MRI results are still pending, but cited Laker officials as saying he will be out 8-12 weeks. I'm glad he wont need surgery. And I'm glad he will be out at least as long as Crash or even longer. To me, justice is served and I have no hard feelings towards Bynum or the Lakers. It is finished - at least as far as I'm concerned. Others will no doubt differ.

Actually its a knee ligament tear, not the same one as Ammo (ACL for Ammo MCL for Bynum) but the result is still the same, a long time out, probable knee surgery and a player who will never be the same...

As a human being I feel bad for anyone who is in pain that doesnt need to be...BUT...justice is a dish best served cold and this time it was served on ice... Thing is too, he's got a HUGE extension for the next 4 years at 12.5,14,15,16 mil respectively...so they had better pray his knee heals or that insurance covers his salary :) (Oh and with the Poison Pill his "trade worth" salary is 12.5 mil so he'd be impossible to give up on this year, not that they would).

playoffs...PLAYOFFS?

the only justice i seek is that we make it to the playoffs without wallace and he returns for themWould be nice playoffs...PLAYOFFS?, but the way our favorite team has performed without him so far this year it doesn't look good. Plus Larry Browns insistence on not utilizing or getting quality burn from the teams bench when it is obvious the starters aren't doing well puzzles me. Against the Jazz Cartier came in and hit a quick three and then Larry pulls him out for AmMo who scores one time and disappears. I don't get Larry Brown sometimes. I know he won a championship in Detroit but it seems sometimes that unless he takes on a current playoff caliber team he does not always know how to utilize all the teams players. I know our Bobcats are not real deep but maybe they get better if Larry plays them in the right situations. Playing a guy for ten minutes one game and then not playing him again for several games makes no sense. How in the hell can players grow and become a part of the team if they aren't used adequately.

As far as Bynum is concerned, he cried and made all kinds of excuses why his team lost to our lowly Bobcats. He knew Gerald was eating their lunch in LA and it pissed him off. I do believe he threw a knowing vicious elbow at Crash. I don't want him to suffer a career ending type injury but it will be good to see him miss some serious time. His team is a top tier team and will probably do well without him but our guys are not as cohesive a unit and losing Crash probably eliminates our Bobcats from playoff contention. I hope Bynum heals just fine but I also hope he is out as long or longer than Crash.
