Well, we all know Portland if loaded with young talent. They need a talented PG, and we have 2. Would you make a deal? Tempted? Can you part with a player(s) to bring in someone who can help? Dont cry for whomever we would trade as they would be going to a really good young team out West. Good team, good city, etc... Bottom line is, can we help ourselves, or do we hold with what we have with Raja and Crash returning.

Here's a trade I would do:

I we are going to sign Ray i think we hold. You can't sit DJ for long as he is just too good at hitting shots and moving the ball. I used to hate Felton but man the guy hustles and is VERY durable and i am not convinced DJ is yet as he is very small.

It's a real dilemma as Raymond brings things to the court you only see in person that don't show up on a stat sheet, the guy is diving, scraping, taking hits and just keeps coming. At the same time his shot is very inconsistent and he is not money from the Foul line either. DJ is lights out, hits pretty much every open look he gets and nails FT's and passes well but can't scrap like Raymond.

If this team is serious about becoming a true championship contender in 2-3 years then I think we should keep our core. Raymond, Bell, Diaw, Crash, Okafor, DJ, Vlad. Howard is also helping us a lot but i dont think he has multiple seasons left in him but he is cheap and plays very well.

The rest of the roster could go as far as i see it. But this 7-8 needs to gel and just win

I would if the price was right. And only Felts. DJ has been AMAZING since coming back.
I would like to see us get Blake in a trade with Portland because he is a perfect backup pg. I would also like to see a good off the bench player such as Fernandez and/or Outlaw. And then since he isnt playing AT ALL i would take Frye to make salaries work.

So something like this?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/traderesult?players=2753~2776~568~3416~1994~3204~2 015&teams=22~22~22~30~30~30~30&te=&cash=

Why would they do this? Because of the Darius Miles fiasco they are desperate for cap space and May provides that. Im not sure how much Nazr is worth but at least he can teach their bigs something. And well they need a young point and Felts is good. real good.

I'd love to have Fernandez and Outlaw on our team!

i loved ray's pre-game interview. in retrospect, i wish we would have drafted lopez (at the time I hated him) and just resigned ray. he is the perfect professional. loves the game, won't get in trouble, asset to the community, LOYAL to the franchise.

I wouldn't trade DJ for anything...his 24 points really helped us out with that win last night.

You trade with anyone if it actually makes your team better...problem trading with Portland is Pritchard likes to "win" trades...anyone dealing with them just has to be careful!

Let's be realistic guys. There's a very slim chance that they would trade Fernandez, especially for 2 guys that might not be back next year. I wouldn't do it if I were the Blazers.

I dont see him getting traded. I think he has imroved too much this year, and we just cant get good value back for him. We got a good thing going, and we are only getting better with wallace and bell coming back after the break.

I too would be reluctant to trade either Ray or DJ. Especially DJ as we dont yet know his ceiling and he is on a Rookie contract. Regarding Ray, I have one major scare. If we keep him this season and then try to resign him, but he walks, we are doubly screwed. We did not get him back and we did not get anything for him. That would be a very stupid move if it happened. Losing his salary pales in comparison to losing him as a player and getting absolutely nothing back. I hope the FO has some clue as to what is going to happen with Ray and any new contract talks. If they know ahead of time that he is going to be too pricey, they have no real option but to make the best deal they can. If they already know his price and can meet it, great. But that would tell me that Ray's agent is pretty crappy as he should be trying to maximize Ray's value. At least, that is how I see it.

Im sick of all this trade talk, I want to keep Felton and DJ, if we trade anyone I'd "only" trade May and Nazr.....

yeah, DEATH TO ALL TRADE TALKS.

I am satisfied with our current team when it all returns from injuries.

Agreed.

I'd also be happy without a trade, just with less injured players.

Dead on... We've gotten a little trade happy this year...most teams don't trade like this, and we probably wont after this season. Larry had to do what he had to do to get rid of stuff he couldn't work with.

May of a 2nd round pick or an "okay" late first early second rounder from last draft or two who can play the 2.

Nazr is a tough egg to crack, He isnt worth his contract, so no one is going to take him without giving us something even worse, be it attitude/injury or poor play over paid longer contract. Tinsley is what he is, but its a bargaining chip, Nazr for Tinsley and an unprotected 1st pick from Indiana would be good, maybe use a trade exception to pick up one of their lower paid guys like Rush or Graham.

It works on paper but depending on how much value Felton has I would love to see something like this:

Felton
May

for

Bayless
Outlaw

I know it might be a pipe dream but Bayless could back up DJ as well as Bell. Outlaw is a beast in the making plus they have Channing.

Same here, I'd like to dump Singletary, May, Nazr but other than that we should leave the team intact and pay up for Felton. I just don't know how to manage the minutes as DJ is a scoring machine but Felton brings a lot of intangibles we need

We should keep Singletary as he needs time to develop and Larry Brown is the man to do it and make Singletary a great player in the future.
