SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. Phoenix Suns guard Jason Richardson was arrested in Scottsdale after police said he was driving 55 mph above the limit with his unrestrained 3-year-old son in the car.

A Scottsdale police officer first saw Richardson driving 67 mph in a 40 mph zone Sunday night and followed him, police said Monday. That's when the officer clocked him at 90 mph in a 35 mph zone and pulled him over.

Police said Richardson admitted to speeding and identified himself as a Suns player. The officer saw Richardson's son in the back seat of the car and that he was not in a child seat.

Dude, that's Irresponsible parenting! What the heck is wrong with him!?

This makes me even more happy that he is not on our team anymore!

When I saw this I didn't know what to do...Be happy that we got rid of him, sad of what Phoenix has made JRich become as of late....or thrilled that it happened to him while not being a Bobcat...

But glad we got rid of him when we did...we don't need a disgrace on the team...JRich use to be one of my favorite Bobcats, but now he just disgust me...A DUI one month and less than 2 months later reckless driving WITH A CHILD!

Such as disgrace!

Maybe since he makes a bunch of money he can hire a driver?

I find it disturbing for someone we all loved on our team just a couple months ago. This is his 2nd offense since the trade. He was known before as a very solid citizen and I'm not aware of any real issues. Now 2 in a couple months? I fear something is troubling J-Rich on a deep level and he's not handling it well. Maybe the moving from city to city, maybe marital issues, who knows. But I hope he gets himself together. He was a solid citizen and everyone loved him in GS and in Charlotte. No reason to believe he cant get back to that man. Rather than us condemning him, he needs our well wishes, thoughts and prayers. I only want the best for him.

That was very well put and totally put into a different perspective.

I see people driving 100 around Charlotte all the time bud. Its the overzealous Pheonix area police - they catch a lot of people. It was documented in the other thread (his DUI) of how many celebrities got caught in Pheonix relative to the rest of the nation, and how many of them were upstanding citizens. J-Rich is probably fine, although I could see how playing for Terry Porter could drive a man to drinking, and thats no joke.

Yeah, Arizona police dont play. If they were as lackluster as the rest of the world's cops, Charles Barkley would be entertaining me on Thursday nights and getting BJ's on Friday's.

Well, the Suns suspended him a game without pay. That hits him for $111,000.00. That's a very expensive lesson.

That's an expensive traffic ticket :) 2 things though...

1. Make him give that 111k to MADD (and make him personally present the check at some kind of public event) That would atone for the DUI and give him a better look from the public.

2. If I were going 90 in a 70 on I77 let alone 90 in a 35 (which typically is a business street, so for those familiar I'd say Park Road south of Tyvola that kind of area) CMPD would own my car in their impound lot, I'd have no license that moment, and I'd be given a shit load of tickets ranging from speeding and wreckless driving to maybe something like posession of a deadly weapon (i.e. they'd find something beyond traffic, if not a felony, to pin). If i did that, then added my 3 year old child, not belted or in a child seat, I'd be in Family court within 24 hours saying why I shouldn't go to jail for a VERY VERY long time for wreckless endangerment of a child, child abuse etc etc etc.. you get the point... Star treatment, even by the most crazed PD in the nation...

All of that aside, I hope whatever is going on with J-Rich he can find a way past it. He didn't like that he got traded here, and I figured he'd be happy there (contender etc) but obviously that's not totally true...

I've been 90 on I-77 and I've only driven it twice.

As far as J-Rich being on a contender, that woulda been more true had he been traded here
