Henry Williams is no longer the Bobcats' television analyst, and you must respect the hard choice he made. Williams is pastor of New Zion Missionary Church in Charlotte, and was struggling to juggle his duties there with the team's travel schedule. So Wednesday he resigned from the TV job to devote himself to his ministry.

He was a very good commentator and he will definitely be missed.

He has a lot going on with his church and I have to respect someone putting something that probably doesn't pay all that well above being on TV. I kinda hope they can get Mugsy to replace him, but they are mentioning some guy who does duke games.

Stephanie Ready I think does a great job..I'll be happy with her until she leaves on maternity...if we land Gminski that will be great

I have no problem with this. Stephanie Ready is twice the commentator Henry was.

well duh, this explains it: (she has a pretty good background)
Stephanie Ready became the first female coach of a men's professional league in 2001 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_in_sports). [1] (http://www.nba.com/news/nbdl_ready_greenville_010815.html?nav=ArticleList)[2] (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1077/is_6_57/ai_84344863). From 2001 to 2003, she was an assistant coach for the now defunct Greenville Groove (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenville_Groove) of the National Basketball Development League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Basketball_Development_League) (the minor league of the National Basketball Association).

During one of the telecasts she said used to be a coach...I'd assume she play'd college ball too

I am a big fan of Ready as an announcer.
She comes across a lot more like a fan, often she says what i am yelling at the TV. Like last night when one of the other teams players took what looked to be 4 - 6 steps with the ball she called him out on it. And when Gerald went over the back to slap the ball into the defenders leg and out of bounds I looked at my wife and said "Hes lucky he didn't get called for that" And not 2 seconds later on the replay she said the same thing.
I feel like she is rooting for us.

I hope she stays as an announcer. I really enjoy her.

I think she will, she just has to deal with maternity leave and all that but I feel that after she has the baby she will definitely be back

more than likely..i think too that she will stay, i think she does a great job and i feel a lot of people have said so as well.
gminski would be nice if he stayed along, being a former charlotte hornets.. but he is tied up with college basketball so i don't think he would give that up.
I liked Henry but I very much respect the choice he has made, good for him. Is that the same church as Mike Minter?? It sounds ver familiar?
Anyway, I hadn't heard much about Stephanie before last night but once I got into the game I loved it, she and Steve work well together (at least from what I can tell) and I hope they keep them together. Be cool for us having the only major woman announcer too. (Unless I'm missing someone)

I never much cared for Henry as an announcer (I preferred Adrian Branch from the ol' C-SET and Matt Devlin days), but it's awesome the decision he made, and as a human being my estimation of him couldn't be any higher. God Bless, Henry.
Stephanie and Steve have a really good repore so I think that will work well for the interim.
For nostalgic reasons, I'd like to have the G-Man back too, but I can't see him leaving the ACC deal he's got with Raycom.

G-man would be a great choice. With him and Steve doing the games I'd feel like I'm back in 94'.

You really should take your picture of May's nipple down, this is a family forum and there shouldn't be pictures of large breasts on here :D

In regards to Henry Williams, he was ok but I wasn't too big on him. I'm usually not high on female sports announcers but I think Stephanie Ready does an excellent job when she sits in with Steve. Probably would be best if she remained the sideline person and they got someone good to sit in with Steve though.

You're out of your element. The '90s were most excellent. The music was way better than the crap they put out today. Also, music videos may be a thing of the past, but they sure beat all this reality tv.
Back on topic:
I prefer Stephenie to Henry, and echo Big Mike's sentiments. You listen to every other team's broadcasters and they usually always blinded by their allegiance to that team when making comments. I've always liked that our announcers didn't really do that, but part of me also appreciates the homerism because I'm tuning in to FS Carolinas to see my team and cheer for them. With Steph, you kinda get the feeling you're watching it with a buddy who also knows a TON about basketball and is a fan of the same team. It's cool.

The bad thing about her becoming an analyst would mean no more sideline interviews. I always thought she did a good job of not asking the same old tired questions every sideline reporter asks.
