Kinda torn on this. Wife and i just moved here and have been to every home game since Christmas and have loved it. Have a weekend ticket package in the upper deck and have got comped a couple of times in the lower bowl and have a friend that occasionally gets me in down there as well.

I am seriously considering just anteing up for season tickets. They have a play now pay later going on where you put 500 down per seat and they comp you the rest of this season ( I already have tickets for 5/10 games left though) but there are some decent seats in the lowerbowl for 40 a game so it is around $3700 for a pair of tickets down there for next season and i'd get 5 free games this season. Also my account exec said prices are likely to lower for next year and maybe they will throw in free parking too

That all sounds good and all but there are so many deals right now that i can sit front row mid court of the upper deck for 5 bucks a game just buying tickets a game at a time and there are the comped games or situations to get tot he lower bowl anyway every few games

Part of me wants to go all in and get the tickets, the other part says the smart bet is to just go game by game and have 90% of the fun at 20% of the cost. Also we have our forst child coming 4/4 and i would think i can take him to all the games on my lap but i dont really know what to expect.

What do you all think, pay up or just play it by ear game to game like i have this year

I've seen some ppl I know with children in the arena (baby on lap age) and trust me one person isnt going to have fun the whole night, or you switch off baby duties and each have an okay night... The player intros scare most the babies I've seen at the arena too (dark and loud). I've been doing game by game all season and got a boat instead of season tix last season, so I'm pretty happy with it, have something to do in the summer when im pining for games too.

LOL sounds like we have a lot in common, my life here in NC is basically live ont he lake boating all summer and live at TWC arena in the winter

I guess life is good

You need to tell me how you really get the upgrade hook ups all the time. I have my own secrets too now but they pale in comparison to what you guys seemt o be able to pull off

Honestly I'm just in the right place at the right time. Last night we went from 218 A which isnt bad, to 113 K. Mainly almost everyone knows me at the arena and they see the tattoo and its great. I got on the video screen during the VIC card wave yesterday which was totally exciting, win or not. I'm still hoping they give me free run of the arena like that guy Michael (the guy with the monkey and the wig) but i doubt it ;) Wish you the best in your pursuit of good seats.

Which lake do you fish btw?

I live right off of Lake Norman in Denver. I fish in the spring and fall but do more bar hopping and cruising in the summer months

I wear a jersey to every game but never get approached. With the upper bowl empty most nights i suually will just go watch in 224-226. I got a couple of calls from the ticket office trying to get me to upgrade and they comped me seats int he club section twice but i doubt that will happen many more times. I have away to sit there every night that i'll keep quiet LOL really i dont abuse it as its not really ethical and i only would do it at a dead weeknight game. Other than that i rely on a friend who is a trainer and has a couple of rich clients who dont use their seats and every couple of fridays we get their tickets for free (I am hoping that happens tomorrow)

I enjoy the game wherever i am , actually it can be more fun up top. They are really trying to get people to buy full season passes but with a baby on the way maybe i should play it by ear

The VIC card thing is fun, i was ont he screen last weekend, I'll look for you up there tomorrow. If you see a 6'5" white guy with dark hair a home jersey and slacks (Okafor or Felton) and a pregnant wife, thats me LOL

There were no deals for tomorrow's game that put me where I'd be willing to sit, considering there wont be upgrades when the magic are here ;) Enjoy the game tho.
