this team is a train wreck. They will be vacating their playoff spot, along with the Bucks. That frees up 2 spots! Will we take one? Who knows.

But anyway, i think this team failed because Billups was very important to the team. And you look at Denver in the West (#2), this guy might be getting some MVP consideration. I dont think Iverson ruined the team, i just think they didnt have a role to utilize him.

What do yall think? Why did a team that was a dynasty like 4 minutes ago fail?

Billups should be the MVP......hands down

It's going to LeBron.

I don't think the Detroit trainwreck has as much to do with Iverson not fitting in as it does with Billups leaving. He was the heart and soul of that team and they look completely lost out there and the offense doesn't move anywhere near as well.

The defensive letdown is ALL Iverson's fault though ;)

Billups should be the MVP though, LeBron has Mo, Z, and Ben (for whatever hes still worth)

Billups has Melo and Nene...I think LeBron has more.

Billups has an Olympic champion and one of the best NBA players on his team. Nene is also having a career year. Kenyon and Smith aren't doing too shabby either. Big Z is old and isn't as good as he used to be. Mo is kinda overrated and doesn't really do much more than score (remember, he's the guy that said he doesn't have to have that many assists because LeBron has the ball so much). Ben Wallace... are you serious? lol

But either way, you of all people should agree that there IS a serious "conspiracy" about the MVP trophy in the NBA. Kobe won last year because " he deserved it".

This is most likely LeBron's year.

Oh theres no way Billups will win, just like theres no way Spoelstra will win COTY. Kobe deserved what he got in the finals, not the MVP. But anyway, Cleveland would go farther without LeBron than Denver sans Billups

Haha take away James, Cleveland still can make the playoffs by doing more of a Shaq-Hardaway style sytem, and take away Billups, Melo can't lead them that far. Denver is stilla better team, but they can't get as far. The conference they are in has something to do with it, too ;)

Take LeBron away and Mo and Boobie don't get open shots. Take LeBron away and Big Z doesn't get 1 on 1 plays. Take LeBron away and The Cavs are a lottery team

Billups was a very good asset to the Pistons but all the better for the Nuggets for having him on their team now. I really like Billups. It's a wet dream to have him here :)..I'd take him over Felton on our team any day

Detroit looked better today without AI than it has in quite awhile. Michael Curry said once AI comes back he will be coming off the bench. That works out real nice because it puts Rip back where he feels most comfortable and allows AI to take as many shots as he wants while he runs with the two's. But for real, if they make it through this year with the team intact, they will be in good shape going into next year with presumably some FA moves this offseason to go along with a still very solid core.

Thatll be a big IF on making it through the year. The could miss the playoffs, and that means heads will roll

I highly doubt they miss the playoffs, but heads may roll nonetheless.

agreed.

This is my BETradumus prediction:

They will get the 7th seed, eliminate Orlando (the one team they always poo-poo on) which will be called a 'upset' and save Iverson's legacy. Then they will let Iverson/Sheed walk this summer and sign Boozer/J-Creezy and win the whole damm thing again. Joe Dumars is really a genius.
