Just saw he may slip to the second round. Are you kidding me? We should package our second round picks for a late first rounder so we can pick him up on the cheap.

I personally call him the David Lee Jr., but others know him as Tyler Hansbrough. I don't want him.

How many nicknames does one man need?
I don't want him either.

I'm one of the biggest tar heel nuts you ever meet but while psycho t is a college BALLER, he won't have much of an impact in the NBA

Hate to say it... But he won't be that good and we don't want him for our team

I think if we get a LATE 1st round pick, we get him. I think He who has 70000 nick names will be a decent NBA player. He will struggle at first, but this guy has a high Basketball IQ. As long as he understands he wont be getting 'shit-points' as i like to call them, like he did in college and he adjusts his game, we will indeed have David Lee Jr. Or we might be looking at Adam Morrison Tall Version and end up with a limited player with 0 confidence.

I don't expect him to be the type of player that will be the go to guy on his team or make multiple all star trips but it cannot be denied he brings quite a bit to the table. He is has played 4 years as the go to guy at unc and while he has mostly played center/pf he is clearly skilled with the ball and can dribble and pass on the break. I am not sure he can't play either pf or sf in the nba. He may not be able to get as many rebounds because there are more guys that can jump out of the gym but he can still box out his man and he still has extremly strong hands. I think his biggest assest will be his scoring. He will have much more room to opperate than he had in college (unless he comands the double team right off which is a success in itself) and he will be hard to guard for many nba pf/sf type players. On D I am not sure if he can stay in front of a sf but pf should be no problem. We know he is a hard worker and will fight the whole game and that would help a lot of NBA players. I really don't get the whole undersized thing 6'9'' or 6'8'' is really not that small to play pf in the nba. I see more of a problem with Gerald Henderson who is only 6'4'' (short for an nba 2) who plays like a forward. Tyler is going to be a lot better than people give him credit for and which ever team drafts him will be getting a very polished player. A lot of teams are usually looking to get rid of a late first round pick if they don't think any players can help them b/c it is guaranteed salry for three years so it should be easy to pick one up.

If DE is right we have the 42nd and the 56th picks in the upcoming draft. They currently have Hansbrough 29th. Hell yeah I'd package those two and take on the guaranteed salary of 723k, 777k & 831k.

A PF who has a nose for the goal and at one time (last year?) he was leading college with "and 1s".

Unless there was better potential why wouldn't we?

I don't think he's going to get as many "and 1s" in the pros as he has in college. If he's the best player available when we pick, then okay, but I'm gonna reserve the right to be grumpy about it for a while. I really like the idea of packaging 2 round picks to get into the late 1st round, though.

If we were talking a lottery pick I'm totally with you, and normally I'm all against American white guys in general (esp. those short at their natural position), but in the last few years I've seen undersized guys like Maxiell prove that they do have a place in the league. From what little I've seen of Hansbrough he seems to have multiple ways of getting off a good shot.

The money is so piddling I think it's very little risk for potentially good reward.

He has the attitude of a killer. He is ferocious and a hard worker. He's a grunt guy.

He's like Jake V - if Jake V had skills.

I think there would totally be a place for him on the roster if we could get him early in the 2nd.

He'd be good to have back up Boris at the 2 when Howard hangs them up.

Stacy (Dallas): Is Tyler Hansborough ever gonna enter the draft? I feel like that guy has been in college forever.

http://a.espncdn.com/i/sn2.gif Chad Ford: He's delaying the inevitable. He's THE MAN in college. He'll be waiving towels in the NBA. Would you really want college to end if you were him? The NBA will get him paid, but his glory days as a basketball player are now. It will never get as good for him as it is now. Ask Adam Morrison.

Yikes! I think I wanna revise my remarks!

Difference is that Hansborough will be drafted where he should be drafted, so who ever drafts him will be getting correct value for money/pick.

Unlike Ammo!

Yeah I think we learned our lesson with Ammo, how does Psycho T even get two pages of discussion on here? He's not NBA material. Period.

i see him as at worst an upgrade on Juan Howard who has been pretty damn good for us this year. Ammo made his living with jumpers and never went to the line Tyler makes his living closer to the basket and loves contact. If teams try to play guys like Rudy Gay on him he can eat there lunch in the post.

I admit i am a UNC fan.
So feel free to disregard what im about to say but..
if your making a second round pick. 90% of the time a team is looking to get rotation players. So why not get Hans with a 2nd. Everyone on here talks about Dudley and Brown and all those rotation guys we had who played hard but didnt do a lot. Hansbrough has that. And when you have a guy who loves the game that much and works that hard, i find it hard to completely write him off before he even plays a game in the nba. You pay the guy minimal money to try-out for 2-3 years. Unless there is a great potential guy there i dont see why not? its a low risk high reward situation.

But if the bobcats have the number 1 pick they would definetly pick tyler number 1 overall.

First of all.

Hansbrough will not be glued to the bench. He will not be a star but also not worthless.

Second

A little optimism and trust in LB and our FO which cannot do anything without LBs consent would be nice.

Third

I am not disillusioned. I just find it hard to believe with the amount of skill he has he will be worth nothing at the next level.

Except that he doesnt even have that much skill at the NCAA level...he is overrated now, not that I mind

LB doesnt like small white guys anyway, so I'm only concerned if MJ gets a mancrush like he did when he was recruiting the kid, or if LB retires
