***the Official Bcp Group Outing 4/3***

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I haven't gotten EVERYTHING squared away but I have preliminaries for our hopeful group outing on 4/3.

Time Warner Cable Arena, Bobcats v. Miami Heat on 4/3 at 7 pm, doors at 6.

I am aiming for $20 upper bowl seats as this game does not qualify for the midweek specials they have been advertising due to Friday and Miami. Most likely $20 will put us exceptionally low in the corners (Rows C-D-E-F in 204 is one block I have been offered) or a bit higher (J-K-L-M) closer to center court.

I'm working on the perks, minimally we will have bobcats rally towels, which despite my constant begging I've still managed to not get one this year. But I'm working on either an arena tour or perhaps (based on group size) a player meet and greet (they cant/wont promise which player, so don't bitch at me if we get Sean May).

What I need to know is who can go, how many tickets they want, and would they prefer higher center court or lower corner seats. (I will try to judge based on the number of seats which way it goes, so it'll be semi-democratic). When I put up the nonrefundable deposit the ticket agent will set up a website where everyone can go buy their tickets, or the agent may make up a flier like a previous attempted get-together had, and then each of you would call the ticket agent and she would set you up with your own order in our block of seating. Either way this is good because you don't have to mail me your money and I don't have to play the middle man :) everyone is happy.

Either PM me or reply here and let me know so I can get the block set up. There will be more seats in the block than we can use so a last minute person needing 4 will be fine, but if i tell her 40, and there are 38 sold, someone cant come last minute and get 10.

Lastly, those of you who are season ticket holders. I was told by the rep I'm working with that if you want to sit in our block of seats, your best bet is to either sell your tickets, put them on ticketexchange or return them to your account for credit, and buy group tickets through this offer so that you are assigned a seat within our group ticket block and get to sit with the most insane cats fans in the house.

Okay everyone, I've got a situation...

If I can guarantee (and that means I buy any extras if people don't buy tickets, which I don't want to do) 50 tickets, the Bobcats Community Relations Department has agreed being we are the utmost supporters of the team, they can arrange a Player "Meet and Greet" before the game (I'm assuming before, as they just want to go home after). They can't promise which player, and I'm sure the more of us that attend they will try harder to bring someone out who we want to see. Just so you guys know what a "special case" this is, the ticket rep told me they don't normally roll out perks like this without at least $10,000 in ticket sales.

There is a game tonight, so traffic on the site will be better, she really needs to know by Monday or Tuesday if we're going to be able to hit 50 or not so she can move forward making plans for that.

Also, she wanted to let season ticket holders know they can return the tickets to their account for credit, and buy tickets with the group so that they could sit with our group.

Again, please post here with how many you can bring, and don't be afraid to ask friends etc, we need a good turn out to make this happen. Any questions via PM.

Alright, thats 10 on here, i've got 4-6 depending on family, ppl I know from other games and mom-in-law's work are another 14, i've got 7 from the neighbors for a total of 35, possibly 37.

I'm going to a cookout with some of the ppl I bowl with, and that could be another 10, so we just need a handful more :)

Also, know that 50 is the minimum, so even when he hit 50 we can still keep going.

I'll be calling Melissa to put down the primary deposit in next day or so, and tonight I go bowling where there are going to be at least 5 more who want to go, I wouldn't be shocked if we end up near 60ish. I'm not sure of a cutoff, I'd think worst case it'd be a day or two before the game just so the tix can be in will call for those who bought last minute and so they can have the right number of rally towels etc. I'm just looking forward to knowing who we get to hang with...

Ticket rep emailed me and she can not do the meet and greet, which has me VERY steamed right now considering it was promised. She can do an arena tour and get us in before the season ticket holders so we can get autographs and the like.

My wife made a good point, they were probably going to let us have a meet and greet with one of the 2 Seans, and with May being on the active list due to Lexy and Singletary being in South Dakota, they don't have "junk" to toss at us.

Needless to say the group event is still on, and I'm going to see if she cant toss something else in (who knows, even a sharpie is like $3 in the store). I told her she needs to make it worth our while because we all know how to get decent tickets for a fair price and quite frankly $20 for these seats isn't the best deal, but the perks were making it worth it. :) I'll keep you all posted, but feel free to call if your still interested.

I just got off the phone with Melissa and I am one PISSED OFF cat's fan...

They cant do ANYTHING AT ALL for us. They are aware we are the biggest fans, and said they would try to do something for us next year, which frankly is a year away and far from my mind.

Last year I brought a group of 20 (still a group) and seriously all they did was put the name of the group on the board. This time I've got between 800 and $1000 worth of tickets and they don't want to do a darn thing.

There are cheaper tickets available still via the 72 hour sale, and I'm going to see if I can fish up any other deals.

I'm sorry this ticket rep ruined this for us and I will be making Bobcats Sports and Entertainment aware of what they have lost.

We'll revisit a group game for the board for next season when the schedule is released, and at that point I'll find another rep to deal with as Melissa is not getting credit for anything I do with this team from here out.

What I'm going to do is find myself a friendly ticket agent when I'm at the Kings game. Hopefully I'll find one of the upgrade ladies and get to speak with them regarding this issue as they work directly for Fred Whitfield and if anyone can get shit done he would be the man. I've got 21 myself as it stands this very moment, maybe as high as 30 depending on my maybes...so I can get a group and have them tag on so you guys can add tickets to the group and pay directly (get tickets via email or whatever). So I'll let everyone know. I'm just beyond beyond pissed that they cant at least do something tiny for us.

Oh I'm not mad at the cats, I'm mad at the ticket agent who told me "get 50 and we can make it happen" (regarding the meet-n-greet). The typical meet and greet requires $10k in tickets sold, which would be 100 great lower level seats, or a small suite or something, so the players have probably done meet and greet and things like that for large groups. I got the run around from Melissa about the meet-n-greet after I told her i had 50, then she came back with "oh I think we can do an arena tour instead" then called me up and said "I can get you and a guest into <something they are doing tomorrow at the arena where there might be a player or two around>" Like, I've gotten LOTS of things and I'm happy, I was trying to give back to the group more or less and get something better than what anyone could just call up and get tickets for. Needless to say the seats will probably be better than what you can get on ticketmaster but that and the rally towel appears to be it. Ill keep everyone posted.

Okay, the bobcats group sales manager contacted me and has made the following offer.

The Good:
$30 face value seats low in the corners (rows A-I) for $15
Tee shirt for all group attendees.
Rally towel for all group members.
Doors at 5 pm (tip at 7 pm doors open to season ticket holders at 5:30, 6:00 for the public.
At 5 pm we will be met by our ticket rep, and escorted to section 114 where we can sit and watch the shoot around prior to the public entering the building. At 5:30 we will be escorted to the player tunnel for autographs (and generally the players are very happy to say hello and chat that early).

The Bad:
All $$$ must be paid by me, so I need everyone to pay me. I know I had 10 seats "interested" so what I'm going to do is give my paypal info so you guys can paypal me the money. I'll work out the tickets, probably via email. I need a head count by Monday so please let me know, and I need to pay for the confirmed head count by Wed the 25th.

My paypal is chrisnif@gmail.com. I don't have the high end paypal so I can't take too many credit cards, but try it if you must, otherwise the instant bank transfer is good.

I'm just waiting to get this in writing from the ticket rep. Once I do we'll be set to go.

Hey, just wanted to update everyone, I would like to get a final head count tomorrow (monday) and if possible start seeing some of the paypal action then too. My rep is able to leave the tickets at will call under different names ( ie we get 30 tickets, and john doe wants to pick his 4 up the day of the game, then he just goes and shows ID and they give him his 4) I'll be picking up the 24 people I'm bringing and giving them their tickets as I see them over the course of the week before the game, but at least anyone coming from a distance can leave their tickets at the box office and grab them the day of the game. I've had 5 people tell me about 15 or so seats, so please everyone either message here, or PM me so I know how many to tell the rep when she calls me tomorrow, and once everyone's paid I'll call the cats up and get this party paid for.

Also, if anyone has any questions regarding parking, directions, how to get their tickets at will call, how much a soda or a beer costs, is the arena food decent etc. Ask away and I'll be sure to answer so that this can be as fun for everyone as possible.

I found out recently that I've got an ulcer in my throat where it connects to the stomach, so i have a myriad of "dont eat, dont drink" items so it heals, which could be 6-9 months depending on how well I follow the instructions :)

Hopefully I can enjoy a tasty beverage when we start next season.

Well, besides losing raja then the game, a fun time was had by all... I will keep everyone updated on draft night festivities and depending on the date I was thinking about the home opener for next season, those are always awesome games.

This is late, but I wanted to publicly thank Tats for setting up the outing. The lady and I got to Charlotte from Raleigh WAY too late for any perks outside of meeting Teej, Tats and Tatswife. All three very cool, nice people. I recommend introducing yourself to them if you see them at the TWC next season.
