I really think we have a great chance of winning...We are playing really great recently...Winning 5 straight, and the Knick have lost 10 of their last 14 games...I think we can win this and set our franchise record with 6 wins....I say Bobcats win by 8...102-94
ohara831
03-07-2009, 02:12 PM
I really hope we can keep the momentum and make it 6 in a row. It will be hard going to San Antonio next, and the confidence of a 6 game win streak will be very important. Plus is would get us to within 1 game of 8th. If we lose, it is back to 2 games. Cannot afford to go backwards at this juncture in the season.
Raymond has to score over 20...we have to score over 100

we're in the zone and the knicks are in the opposite place. yeah they need this win on their home court but we've fared well there. lb will have extra incentive to show his former employers and town what he's doing in charlotte. i say we shatter the win streak record and make it 6. we've had a lot of rest since our heavy road trip and i think our bench will show up tonight and spread the wealth of stats. i think dj is due for a 20 pt performance as well as our frontcourt will be clicking on all cylinders.

Lets go for #6 against these NY bums... I feel we have the better team over all and that if we are hitting on all cylinders we can blow these knickerbockers out of their own city... Just hope we arent too tired from last night...

Kind of worried that the knicks had three days off, and we are on a back to back with the starters playing heavy minutes last night. We only used 8 players last night.

I'm so excited about the way our guys are playing. I can't wait for tonight. I am kinda worried about how much the starters played last night. I thought LB would rest the starters a little more sense we were up for most of the game. With that said, I still think we should win. I'm going to go with 110-105.

We are a totally different team now than the first 2 times we played NY... we lost both games... Nov5-08 98-101 and Dec 30-08 89-93... so I dont see a high scoring game in this. I do think we can win it (we should win it) but more of a 90-85 score....

I must admit, these guys are funny. Just browsing through their game thread there are references to Raymond Felton looking like a crack baby and Emeka looking like the big forehead guy from Star Trek.
We need more Knicks insults... +1 for anybody that gives me something funny.

Lord...Harrington's been smoking us all night and then he gets a wide open look at the end of the quarter.
Not bad considering we're on a 2nd night of a back to back and the Knicks have had a couple of days off. At least the offense is working; we can still tighten up the D.
ohara831
03-07-2009, 08:44 PM

Started off great got slow in the middle as usual. But I can see a way to win as long as we don't come out flat in the 3rd. We need something off the bench. DJ has 5 pts but he isn't looking to score anymore. :( We need some energy in the 2nd half badly

When Boris arrived in Charlotte, first games he played he had good rebounds stats. But know, I see he has so much assits than boards. I guess it's no good for a PF, isn't it?

It works because Crash is such a good rebounder at the 3.
Didn't realize this, but we're one of only 7 teams where all starters average double figures in scoring.

Ok but I think that it means that there is a miss in the rebounding presence. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm thinking that if the PF don't take enough rebounds, the center has to do twice more.
Great end to the third, and Arcandia, not in our case ;)

Oh ok, that's right Gerald has a good presence. That's an important thing.

These starters are so solid. Gary Payton can kiss my ass if he doesn't want to give the Bobcats the time of day.

Really? Steve Martin's supposed to be the "director of broadcasting." Surely he would have some say in the matter.
It seemed to me like Ala (sp?) was trying WAY to hard to be a fan in order to get the job, which was annoying.

Sure he gets input, but Fox selects him, too. And I think its Alaa, but I don't know. Never heard of him. Didn't listen to him, 'cause Fox and Charter can't agree on what the Bobcats are worth, and because neither of them give a damn about me.

I had hopes for Mugsy because I loved him as a player and as a radio announcer, but he was boring as hell when he did the commentary. I did lol at him comparing Diaw to himself though.

Yeah, "He looks like Muggsy, but taller" says Muggsy. That was classic, but overall he was kinda tough to listen too. I thought Alaa was better, but he didn't seem comfortable.
Fox may have hired Steve, but he had the same position before the 'Cats were on FSCarolinas.

I think Gminski would be the best choice, though I haven't heard Will Perdue yet. Martin and Gminski worked well with the Hornets a couple of years ago and he has the nice local connections and a nice delivery overall.

What were folks problems with Alaa? I enjoyed that he addressed various details within the plays.
I feel like the broadcast normally is on a script while glossing over a lot of what happened.
It's like "get the ball inside to Emeka................Ford Tough play--Gerald crashing........Defensive play--Gerald or Mek block............The Bobcats have to make sure to get the ball inside to Emeka..........Man, so and so ended up with a double double......The team certainly plays better when they get the ball to Okafor."
Tonight, I felt like Alaa (who I was not a fan of growing up) actually did a good job of commenting on the various aspects of play. I have felt like in general if a detail contradicted or didn't fit the pregame script set by our crew that they have tended to ignore it.

"We've been playing at a high level," Charlotte coach Larry Brown said. "There's a lot of people in that locker room that I think are playing great. There's nobody defending better than Raja (Bell). Gerald (Wallace) has played at a high level. Raymond (Felton) gets better every night and Boris is a special player. So we have a lot of guys that are playing terrific."
High praise from LB.
"It's not over yet," Diaw said of the streak. "We're seeing if we can get to 17 (games).
Heh...and we thought some of our predictions were optimistic!

Wow...we're looking like contenders. You're so right. I'll tell you, while the last few minutes of the 4th were going on, I couldn't help notice that this is a legit playoff contending team. It's the body language of the team out on the court exuding confidence on each other as individuals and teammates. Obviously, this is the pinnacle thus far of the Bobcats, but for some reason, watching these guys, it's like they've been doing this all along. I can't really describe it at all...the whole thing is just very surreal.
A win against the Knicks shouldn't've made me feel this way, but still, watching the guys close it out all cool, calm and collected (ie. the non-Bernie way) I was just suddenly hit with the realization that this franchise has turned the corner and become relevant, not the good ol' Bobcats who can pull of an upset once in a while, but otherwise languish in humbling losses to mediocre teams, but a team that has to be reckoned with each time it takes the floor.
