of coach of the year if we make the playoffs?

Well,
No coach has won it with a sub .500 record since 1967, so we might have to finish the season with a 13-6 run. Or make it to the 3rd round of the playoffs

From what I understand, COTY is a terrible curse on the coach and the team, so maybe we'd rather not.

Yeah, and I'd rather let us fly under the radar anyway. What Spoelstra has done in Miami is amazing too, rookie coach with a rookie PG and no big, looking at home turf? Let him win! And let us beat them if we play them!

He has a energized D. Wade though. LB if they are honest has turned his team around more then any other coach this year. He'll have to see how the season ends, But with a nice run to close the season LB is a sure canidate

Spoelstra and Brown have both done very good jobs this season. They are both to be commended. Yes, LB has had to do more than Spoelstra, but they both have done great jobs. I wouldn't complain if either of them won.

i am a huge fan of flying under the radar and causing some havoc in the playoffs. if we can finish with a .500 or better record and pull a 1st round upset, i'd say lb would be worthy of it. honestly, if this team just makes the playoffs, he's worthy. however, as small market as we are, i think we'd have to knock of the champs or lbj to get noticed.

Same here, though it'd be great for Larry to get the award. I could say it every year, but I think Popovich is deserving if not Larry....I mean, Roger Mason Jr. and Matt Bonner as starters?!?! Pop is the man.

Pop is always finding these players and helping them achieve their best. It's really amazing.

How about Rod for GM of the Year?

More like GM who gets his balls back when LB retires

If Larry Brown can take this team to the playoff's....Win or not...He should get it. First year with the team and our first winning record. First playoff in team histroy. Taking the team to the playoffs after having a horrible losing season in NYC , where everyone said LB was done, "lost it". LB got rid of half the team and might still get into the playoff's. IF LB can do this which i honestly believe he can , He has to be the coach of the year. If not how are they really grading these coach?

They are grading them by market size, just like everything in the NBA

But we aren't going to have a winning record I don't think.

I think if we can win 1 of the next 2 games or both we will have a very good chance at a .500 + season.

If you think we can win the next two games in any world, then I need some of your "plants"

although thatd be freaking awesome and ESPN would write about us more.

Larry deserves some votes at the least, but like everyone else he won't win it unless we get over .500 or go on a super long winning streak that grabs the attention of the NBA and ESPN crowd. Even though we're at 6, Utah has the world's attention with 11 so we're still under the radar.

You just brought up another guy, Jerry Sloan, who has done wonders with his team. He's had a ton of injuries, no real playmakers, and he has on of the better teams in the west. As long as LB gets a few votes I won't feel slighted in the least. There are plenty of great coaching jobs in this league this year, we just found the right one for us.

Unless you guys want a Ham Biscuit?

Deron Williams? Thats a pretty good play maker since he was on the Olympic team. Wasn't Boozer on the same team?

Again, If they are voting on what Coach made the most difference with his team. Larry Brown...easy. The teams you all have named have allstars and Olympian's. What do we have? Just a bunch of hard workers. What the league would call role players. If Larry Brown by the end of this season isn't in the running I doubt I'll have any respect for who ever they finally "pick"

Williams and Boozer have been hurt?

And we have Gerald...

There are plenty of guys worthy of COTY

i wonder when larry decides to move on (which i don't want anytime soon) if he is the type that would like to move into a gm role. i thought i remember he was in a similar role in philly (not 100% sure). jordan buys out bob, higgins gets sick of being lb's puppet and moves on, while larry moves upstairs and facilitates these moves that he has been a huge part of this year. not trying to get ahead of things and would rather just enjoy our playoff push, but curious what others think.

I think ultimately, those are the steps that make this franchise successful. Having LB and like-minded individuals in decision-making roles will be paramount to success for the post-Coach Brown Charlotte Bobcats.

I think when LB is done with the Bobcats He'll be done with basketball for a while. He talks about how much he misses his wife. I think she still live's in Philly. He said his daughter is down here. I think it's a great idea to have him in the FO. But sadly i'm pretty sure he'll call it quits...hope not though
