...not only do Boris, Lexy, and Gana have a French Connection, but Boris and Gana have a Senegalese Connection.
Boris' father, Issa, is a lawyer in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. Boris half-brother Paco was born in Dakar, and came to the US to play college basketball (he started at Georgia Tech, then transferred to Lee University) Boris runs a charity "Babac'ards" in Senegal, mainly as a basketball camp but with the abilty to grow to other means in the future. Boris vacations in Senegal a lot as well due to his family and charity.
Gana, obviously, was born in Senegal, speaks French like most Senegalese (I'll get to that in a minute), and shares the same last name as the last two mayors of Dakar.
For those of you who don't get the connection (like me), Senegal was a French territory until 1960, and still has major French influences. Until the euro was introduced a few years ago, their money was related to the Franc, and their government is still based off of the Parisian model.
Just a few interesting notes before I go off to start my day...I'm really hyped about this team!
