My friend stumbled across this article because he wanted to do some research of his own to determine how good the Bobcats have been lately. He's a big Bulls fan himself, but I got him to watch a couple of the feeds and he's really liking the team. ANYWAYS, This article talks about how improved the Bobcats are and I feel you all will enjoy this read.

Although it’s not clear that Brown is responsible for Charlotte’s improvement, it’s clear the team has improved

he was good until that right there. No way in hell anyone but LB is responsible for this. Unless you want to say Mek, Gerald, and Ray got better on their own, Raja and Diaw asked to come to Charlotte, and Carroll asked to leave ;)

agreed...it was LB who came up with the idea to bring in Diaw.

Anyone who isn't giving LB complete and total props for this teams improvement simply just isn't paying attention.

More likely, they are an outsider who is just now jumping on the bandwagon and haven't watched the Bobcats play a single game before a month ago.

We aren't there yet guys, we have a lot of work to do to get into the playoffs. Yeah I know we are only 1/2 game out of the playoffs but we have to play good consistent basketball, for the rest of the year, to get into the playoffs.

Even if we don't make the playoffs, we are still a much improved team.

and we'll (likely) post the best record this franchise has seen so far.

I'm going to tell you this though. If we do make the playoffs, it's going to be interesting to see how the city reacts. I'm 95% sure we will sell out the playoff games and be as good a crowd as we used to be when the Hornets were in the playoffs year in and year out until the end at least. The last memory of playoff basketball here in Charlotte for most of us was the Game 6 where we could have closed out Milwaukee and made the Conference Finals for the first time. That night was the death of the Charlotte Hornets here, because the city had finally got behind them after sweeping Miami and headband mania took over the city. People had let go of Shinn and were fully invested all over again. I lost my voice that night in the upper deck yelling at Cassell, Allen and Big Dog Robinson when they wouldn't miss in the 4th quarter of that game. Of course the next year was the final one when NJ knocked us out in the second round, but by then the playoff games weren't even close to selling out and the city was done with the team.

All that being said, if the Bobcats somehow pull off a first round upset, I think you will see this city behind them just like they were back then. People will forget about what Johnson has said about needing strong financial commitment and whatever other stupid things he's said and come out and support the team. Winning cures all ails, and even though the Panthers have this city's heart, basketball can thrive here as long as you're winning consistently. I have no doubts that we can be a top 10 place to play again as long as the front office shows we're committed to building a winner.
