What will we call him??? We already have a DJ!
Welcome Dontell. Play well and you could be that taller 3rd PG and that taller defensive combo guard that Coach Brown and Spectre, respectively, have wanted for so long now!

why a PG? I am very happy with Sean 'Singleberry' Singletary. I want a Power Forward. Juwan is a leader and i got much love for him, but i want a player.

From what the article says, his specialty is Defense. Sounds like a LB kinda guy.

Like I said on RGM, I love this signing. Combo guy with he size to play both, and he has great handles and plays defense. Our problem seems to be offense, but I do love the defensive guys.

Damn right. I'll take a hard nosed defender and go to work

Like Mek in the article I posted earlier, bring your lunch pail and your work boots. This is a working man's team. Defense, big for a PG, D-Leaguer...we'll see how he pans out. Does anyone know if he came in for a workout with the rest of the rookies? Didn't Larry basically work out everyone that would come?

From what i just read, I'm fine with this guy. He will most likely back up Raja. I like the idea of a bigger SG type instead of Felton always being on the court. Makes me wonder a little bit about Martin's role now :g:
He hasn't play'd to well lately and i think thats cut his playin time.
I think LB is saying with this that Sean is done and Cartier is a maybe...depending on how this guy turns out.
I like the move, we need depth, and thats what we got. And it gives Sean an opportunity to showcase himself if we don't keep him.
Welcome to the playoffs, Dontell! Even though you can't play in them :p

He'll probably take Singletary' or Ajinca's spot on the bench. I'd like to see him play, but that's just what I think will happen. Maybe not since he's more of a backup SG than anything we have right now.

Ajinca probably...Lil Sean hasn't dressed in the last ten games. Martin has looked lost a little on defense lately. He looks over hyped and way to excited out there. I understand that feeling. I remember my first few games playing basketball. I can just imagine if it was actually on the NBA level, Something I've dreamed of my whole life. I'd be a lil jumpy out there too in the few minutes i'll get. I hope this new guy isn't jumpy....

We have to hold the NBA franchise record for the most signed D-leaguer's in NBA history.

Actually since Dontell wasnt on a NBA roster as of March 1st he should be available for the playoffs....

According to basketball-reference 51 players have played in a game for the Cats in their history, Dontell could be the 24th this season.

yes we did...

i don't think it's "official" until we come back from the Spurs game...as Bonnell points out, it woudln't make sense to lose some of the days in the 10-day contract
someone mentioned about cartier being done. i don't think that is the case. LB has simply tightened up the rotation, giving PT to those with more experience at this level
cartier is good, but raw. he lacks the experience and LB probably doesn't want to gamble
not sure why juwan howard isn't playing.. but maybe it's because Vladi is more of an offensive threat and a bit quicker on defense

Yeah it dont make much sence to sign a guy if you arent going to use him... Maybe this guy can score some points and play some defense for us, we need both...

His contract is up today, does he sign tomorrow or not? He hasn't played at all...IMO no point to keep him if he's not going to play any...
playoffs...PLAYOFFS?

yeah don't think they keep him..unless he fills in a spot at practice?

There was an article or blog from Bonnell that said they were planning to bring him in another 10 days... Maybe he'll play tonight... but I think they'll need all avilable big men as Okafor fouls and fouls. Maybe against the pacers they'll sit Nazr if they keep him.
