but I've seen him play, and just like his teammate Gerald Henderson, he's got potential.

He is the son of former NBA player Derek Smith, he is a combo guard at Duke, and can light it up on occasion. He has a quick first step, solid midrange jumper, can lock it down on D, and has a great work ethic. He was heavliy recruited out of Oak Hill, and while he hasnt been an allstar at Duke, like Henderson I think he's been held back a little by Coach K and can be a great player, and should be a second rounder when he comes out in a few years.

He is averaging 8.5 ppg, 2.3 rebounds, 1.6 assts, and .9 steals off the bench in 21 minutes per game, though he started games earlier in the year

For those who have the time, I strongly suggest reading http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/eticket/story?page=nolan , it's a great OTL article, and it shows a little of his talent, more of his drive, and its got a lot of great reporting plus the added bonus of Juwan Howard stories.

I'm personally not too fond of him. He was only like a 3 star recruit out of oak hill so I didn't think he was that heavily recruited... He's a pretty good facilitator and plays solid defense. But other than that, he doesn't necessarily do much for the team. He's going to be at Duke until he graduates so this is definitely a little early lol
