Indiana Pacers at Charlotte Bobcats 3/21

By the time I lay my head down on the pillow tonight, the Bobcats could have possession of the #8 spot in the east. All we need is a win tonight against the Pacers and a Chicago Bulls loss later this evening against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Pacers are struggling lately and we'd like to keep it that way. They are 3-7 over their last 10 games including losing their last 5 straight. Please Oh Please let their suck continue for one more evening.

Seriously though think about the Hawks when the fans were saying that they should just lose so they can get a top 10 pick in the draft but lil did they know the Hawks almost caused the upset of the century by beating the Celtics.I'm not saying the Cats will be successful like the Hawks but i would rather make the playoffs than trying their luck of landing a star in the lottery,and who cares if they get blown the f**k out by the Cavs or Cs it's progress and making the playoffs would give them that experience of the playoffs atmosphere and ultimately make them a better team for the future.

Not big minutes, that's for sure, but 12~15min/game seems feasible, he seems willing to give it a go, why not let him(?), especially now that the chances of reaching playoffs are growing slimmer (both Mil & Chi are up).

I was going to suggest benching Ray, Crash, Okafor, Diaw, Boris and DJ. Say they are all hurt. I figure with 12 games to go, we can get back into the Top 5 of the Draft. LB said on his post game conference that he learned as a young coach that every season you win 3 games you aren't supposed to ..and you'll play 3 games that you lose and will leave you dumbfounded.

obviously this is one of them.. i hate that it happened right now when there is so much at stake. terrible loss, but every basketball team will drop one of these.

whatever the outcome is at the end of the result, nobody can deny that we have made significant progresss and there is a lot to look forward next season

Try watching this thing and then driving 2 1/2 hours alone while dwelling on it. Thanks to Keetch for a great time even tho we lost.

The guys just didn't have the legs...they looked worn slam out. They stopped our drives pretty early on, the outside stuff wouldn't fall and everyone got very frustrated...and it seemed everything they threw up was nothing but net. At one point we were hoping LB would pull Raja he was so agitated, and then he got the intentional.

I felt sorry for the guys. They knew what this game meant and you could see the pain in their faces. LB works the starters a lot and in this game it just caught up to them. Lack of real depth had to come calling eventually, and it came with a vengence tonight.

Them's the breaks.

You called it PERFECTLY. Folks can act like no one cared, but there's a reason the only guys who played well were guys who hadn't played much at all (save Boris). LB has done a wonderful job with this team, but I have continually felt that he has not done a good job of managing the minutes of many of our starters considering their responsibilities.

The Bobcats just finished playing 6 games in 9 nights. The average minutes in the first five games (in 8 nights):

Crash - 41.2 minutes (42 vs. Toronto)
Felton - 35.4 minutes (42 vs. Toronto)
Raja - 37.2 minutes (40 vs. Toronto)
Boris - 34.8 minutes (38 vs. Toronto)

In that stretch Crash almost tore his knee off, Felton had back spasms and Raja couldn't lift his arm over his head.

i trust larry and everything, but he plays all the other starterts massive minutes, when okafor he sits in 7 minutes periods. today was an example, even tho we shot horrific we started losing in the 2nd quarter once mek was out til the 5 min mark. i know larry likes diop, but when we need scoring at least mek can try and do something. diop is like a waste of a possesion if he gets fouled bc he cant shoot ft. this was probably the most painful game for me to watch ever in bobcats history.

It's not so much the overall minutes to me, i mean the bench is a little weak and we can't give them a whole lot of minutes. It's the timing of the substitutions. Like LB forgets he just sat GW down and then Boris gets foul 3 and 2 mins of real time Gerald is back out there. It's frustrating when they don't get in a real game flow and these guys really haven't over the last few weeks. It's like full accelerator then brakes at the end and then it finally adds up to a horrible game last night. Instead of looking at the starters and going, there's something wrong tonight, just something "off" and you guys need to sit down. It couldn't have been worse in the 3rd, why not just do a line change? Last night the wrong guys were out on the floor for too long.

I think LB sat Okafor when the Pacers played Troy Murphy alone without Foster or Hibbert. During those times, we went with Diaw and Radmonovic without a true center. Maybe LB was worried about defending Murphy's long range shots, and probably for good reason.

When Foster or Hibbert were in the game, I'm pretty sure that either Okafor or Diop were in there too.

I'm not sure that's the best strategy; but seriously I don't think it mattered. The game was won by the Pacers finding open shots for Jarrett Jack who was red-hot. After early shooting problems, Rush, Murphy and Granger tuned in for their own damage as well; but overall, it was just a night for Jack.

Well, it's almost a week later, but I just had to put it on record here amongst my Bobcats brethren that I set an alltime record (for myself at least) for leaving early. Admittedly, I was getting worked up during the first half trying to keep track of the Tarheels while watching the Cats game which obviously got worse and worse as the game went on. By the time I saw the Heels finally pull it out, I saw where Jarret Jack was reliving his Ga Tech glory days and we were trailing, and he continued to put on a run and we were down by 8 at half?!?!?!

Well, even though the Heels won, my nerves were still on edge so I was stewing all during halftime about how the Cats game was going....and then the 2nd half started and well, with 6:55 left in the 3rd Larry called a timeout and it was a 17 point difference, and not being a masochist, I got my sweet ass out of TWC.

I guess one could look at it like I bailed on the team, but it was obvious it wasn't happening, and if the Cats had any say in the matter, they would've left early too.
