Anton Babchuk scored in overtime, giving the Hurricanes a 3-2 win over the Penguins at the RBC Center on Saturday, clinching a playoff berth and a franchise-best 11 straight home wins. :cool:

Id NEVER stop loving the Mets....Not saying I wouldnt pull for the Marlins but the Mets are my baseball team... I grew up in Va Beach right next to Norfolk where their triple A ball club the Tides play....Ive seen them and the Mets play numerous times.... I have a baseball with Tom Seaver's and Jerry Koosman's autograph on it... Na I love the Mets....:biggrin:

Very proud of the Canes...that OT goal was sweet! I can't believe they have such a strong record here in March...and what, 11 win home streak now? Heck, just a couple weeks ago they were borderline playoff and now they're around 4th/5th seed!

Well the Hurrianes ended up in the 5th spot and are playing the 4th spot New Jersey Devils. We lost game 1, 4-1 and tonight we won game 2 in OT 2-1, the series is tied 1-1 and coming to carolina for 2 games. Go Canes....:cool:

Well we lost game 3, 3-2 in OT and we won game 4, 4-3 and tied the series 2-2. The Canes play in NJ game 5 Thursday night 730pm...

Well we lost game 5, 1-0 in NJ then tonight was game 6 at the RBC and the Hurricanes won it 4-0 so that leaves the series tied at 3-3 and a game 7 in NJ Tuesday night at 7:30......:cool:

Well Hurricanes played and won game 7 in New Jersey 4-3. They were down 3-2 with less than 2 minutes remaining in the 3rd. At the 18:40 mark Jokinen scored to tie it up at 3 and at the 19:28 mark in the final minute of the game Eric Staal scored his 5th goal of the series to win the game 4-3. They now advance to the conference semi finals and take on the #1 seeded Boston Bruins.... Go Canes.... Go Bobcats!!!!!

Oh boy...Boston looked good from what I saw. Got your hands full. But I'll be rooting for the 'Canes. Melrose said that if Staal played anywhere else he would be on cereal boxes and tv ads. Superstar much?
