Regardless of if the Bobcats make the playoffs this season or not, what do you hope happens this offseason?

Sign Iverson?
Resign Felton?
Acquire extra picks in the draft?
Trades?

I for one am on the Iverson bandwagon. I think it would be amazing if we could get him, trade Felton to a team looking to dump a role player and a draft pick (if that is possible given that we have to resign him first, im not very good at all those rules) and then just continue to develop Ajinca and the rest of the bench. I think if its possible to get another draft pick without having to give another future pick away, that would be great, even in a supposedly weak draft (which i dont think it is. Weak in terms of superstars but i see a large amount of good role players in this draft). Even if we dont do much this offseason, i think a training camp and offseason workouts will help us become at least a 6 seed next season.

Now, seriously...

- Alexis developing his upper body and gaining some weight
- Sean finally getting into shape
- Someone running Richard Jefferson over with a car (this one's for those who hate his guts)

Resign Felton to a reasonable contract
A backup blue collar PF who can rebound, preferably a veteran
Draft pick: a very athletic 2 or swingman who can hit from midrange or outside.

If we do that, I think we'll be in pretty good shape. I don't even mind if Ajinca takes another year to develop.

As much fun as this year has been with all the trading I think we're ALMOST done... that said this summer we should:

0. (Comes before 1) RESIGN JUWAN!!!
1. Resign Ray to a movable contract (ie not 5/6 years, not 10 mil) I say movable in case something happens where he is disposable, I like flexibility.
2. See how cheap we can get AI.
3. Make decisions on our 3 disposable rookies best to worse (Dontell, Cartier, Singletary).
4. Make Sean May a low end short term contract offer instead of QO.
5. See if we cant sell Nazr for a late 1st round pick or early 2nd rounder.
6. Try at least once a line like this in Training camp -> DJ, Bell, Ajinca, May, <your choice of 5>

There are more, but I dunno, this would be great (even if it were 3/6).

Not sure what will happen this offseason but i think it will be exciting.

I m sure like this past and previous offseasons we will find good and bad but some of the things I would like to see OR think we will see.

1) They will sign May to a minimum or QO
2) We will go for an all-star caliber player Possibly AI
3) We will not bring back Cartier or Johnson
4) Ajinca will stay in the D-league
5) we will bring Singletary back
6) We will try and offload Nazr
7) I think we will try and offload Diop ( if May stays)
8 ) A possible Felts or Okafor Shop
9) If we miss the playoffs we will have 2 2nd rounds and a 1st so this will come into the mix if we do try and trade up allowing others to free capspace which i think is going to be huge this offseason as the Cap is going to be huge. A lot of teams are going to be way over Cap with the economy tanking the way it did.

All in All we will only get better

1. Resign Felton (who is better than dj and way better than ai)

2. Make Diop shoot 1000 shots every day during the offseason (if he can get a touch he will make his free throws and he always plays better if he scores a few baskets.

3. Teach Oak to play the power forward spot so we can go with a starting front line of Diop and Mek to bruise our way to the league lead in rebounds next year.

4. Trade Vlad to any team willing to take his contract, we don't really need anything back just get it off the books.

5. Cut Martin and Jefferson unless they really show somthing.

6. Bring back Sean May unless it is obvious his knee is totally shot....we should know by now one way or the other

7. Find a backup PG and a backup SG who can defend if Jefferson and Martin cannot be that guy.

8. Bring Back lil Sean

Sign Ray at a reasonable price....7ish works for me...3-4 years would also work...

Forget McMay (since he is in my McGinnis book of never want him near our team again)...I'm not going to wish the dude ill but I'd just as soon not see him in a 'Cats uniform again...ever...

I'd take a reasonable draft...that would be nice...not saying last years was a bust but I'm not giving it a ringing endorsement either...

Drop both Seans, (and all 500 pounds of one of them!), since May has no respect with LB; drop Jefferson, since he doesnt listen in the huddle
resign Juwan, he is the best leader on the bench
resign Ray, DJ isnt ready yet and Ray has improved a lot, just keep it cheap
go after AI or Jamal Crawford, or some sort of 2 guard to split time with Raja in the draft
keep Cartier if LB wants to, if not use the 2nd round pick on a swingman if we dont in round one or in a trade.
Hire Stephanie as the full-time analyst if she wants it, if not G-man.
Let MJ buy the team from the horse lover Bob Johnson

Doesnt mean you have to put that one event smack in the middle of the playoff race for your 500 million dollar toy. He promotes the horses more than the 'Cats. Just wrong IMO. Schedule it after the season. And show up to some games to watch the game.

He made no eye contact with LB or Raja when they would tlak to him on the sidelines and looked totally disinterested (He should be licking their balls for having a chance to even be on an NBA floor)

During huddles he is starting off into space

On another note i like a lot of these lists but we better not move Vlad - He is a solid pickup and will just get better next year. Part of why we lost to detroit is because LB did not use him in Q4. He has been a very solid addition to the team.

I also am on the resign Juwan bandwagon, anyone that goes to these games in person can see the heart and commitment he brings to this team and i am still convinced with minutes he can really contribute

I also have come around to the resign Felton side of the book after much protest. DJ is a much better scorer but he is not ready to be our starting PG yet, i see that after these last few games finally

I also do not want AI - 2-3 years ago maybe but he is done' he will be injured a lot and just be a PITA. Even Bells durability is in question in my mind, he has 3 injuries in half a season. We need a real pure SG, not AI

1) Trade Nazr and not pick up a long contract
2) Keep Crash, Okafor, DJ, Diaw, and Bell, and don't trade them at all!
100) Re-Sign Raymond Felton for 3 years
101) Re-Sign Juwan Howard for 1 year
102) Re-Sign Cartier Martin for 1 year
103) Draft Well (Hopefully a SG, but I'd be willing to go BPA)
104) Let Diop enter the School of Free throws and hope he'll have a turnaround like Crash
105) Let Jefferson, May, Singletary all leave...
106) Sign a defensive PG

1. Get Lex to hang out with May's trainer. He needs the weight.
2. Re-sign Ray, just don't give up the farm
3. Make Mek take 1000 jump hooks a day
4. Make Ray take 1000 18fters a day
5. Somehow get Diop some coordination and a tiny bit of an offensive game (I don't even know where to start...catching the ball maybe? FTs are clearly too advanced)
6. LB needs to work on the spacing of the 2nd unit. It just turns into a jump shot routine.
7. Draft a raw, athletic SG/SF...someone at least 6'5" with a jump shot. I don't care if that's all he can do. Larry will mold him.
8. I'm fine w/ resigning Bling as long as its to the league minimum (ala Hollins)
9. Sign May to a 1yr deal (yes, I said it), league min again
10. Get a hyperbolic chamber for Crash, he needs to heal every part of his body

Okafor and Diop go to Jerry Rice school of catching and Olajuwons footwork academy so they can stop being so damn clumsy. Trade felton and Nazzy to move up in the draft if we don't get the top pick to whomever has the top and draft Blake Griffin.

here is my ever changing list:

1. Sign a starting shooting guard (who it is can be debated, but i prefer Allen Iverson)

2. Re-up Raymond, and if he wants a lot of money, sign-n-trade him for a center/power forward

3. Give May a minimum contract, make sure he eats the salads at McDonalds and not the employees.

4. Teach Diop the art of shooting a free throw

5. If Raymond stays, draft the best player on the board OR trade all the picks for a star player who is on a team that needs to dump salaries. If Raymond is gone, draft Lawson/Rubio/Jennings with our first round pick.

6. If Raymond is gone and we did not draft a point guard, sign one (aka Ramon Sessions)

7. Do not even think about trading Gerald Wallace.

8. Enter training camp and prepare for the playoffs.

1) Resign Ray to a 3 to 4 year deal for about 7 to 8 mil.
2) Sign free agent to be Channing Frye who can play pf and center
3) Sign May to a 1 yr min deal (if the knee is well and his commitment is there)
4 ) Trade Diop for Crawford from Golden State which gives us a 3rd pg and 2 sgs
5) We need a big with some low post scoring potential. I hate to say this but trade Nazr to NY for Curry.
6) Sign Gerald Green from Dallas

Lineups look as follows

Ray Dj Crawford
Raja Crawford Draft pick
Wallace Radman Gerald Green Draft pick
Diaw Frye May
Okafor Curry Ajinca

ok here is my list and i see that many of us have the same wishes.

re-sign Ray Ray to a respectable but decent contract
re-sign Sean to 1 or 2 yr contract for a deal that should be brokered where it is incentives for him getting in shape and being healthy (oh this not the NFL)
trade Nazr for Jamal Crawford
let Cartier, Lil Sean, Dontell and any 2nd round draft picks play for any remaining spot at summer league
re-sign Juwan
draft well, a defensive sg/sf (future clutch/closer)
trade the two 2nd rounders for a mid 1st rounder
have Diop take ballet lessons or something
ban Sean from the buffets

Felton/Augustin/open spot
Crawford/Bell/draft pick
Wallace/Radmanovic/open spot
Diaw/May/Howard
Okafor/Diop/Ajinca

draft choices (barring lottery win James Harden)

Tyreke Evans
Gerald Henderson
Stephen Curry
Terrance Williams
Earl Clark
Al-Farouq Aminu
Wayne Ellington
Tyler Hansborough
Danny Green
Jodie Meeks
Dejuan Blair

If we can't get Crawford or even Ben Gordon, package Nazr and the 2nd rounder for Channing Frye and Martell Webster

Or just go ahead and sign A.I.

EVERYBODY STOP SHOWING MAY LOVE JUST BECAUSE HE PLAYED FOR NC!!!!!!!!!! Here's my wishlist:

1.Do not re-sign Sean May,come on seriously if he can't get in shape to play 15 minutes he won't get in shape at all
2.Re sign Felton and trade him either to move up in the draft to get G G G G Griffin or for a quality sg who can close out games for us(Iverson would be nice)
3.I trust LB will make good use of our mid-level
4.Keep the orange colour as our road jerseys
5.Train hard in training camp

Thats crazy.

Why get rid of felton for Griffin? Who we going to run the point with? DJ?
Felton can play and he has improved a lot over the past year under LB, everyone agrees he isnt and should not be the go to guy at the end of games but I see no reason not to keep Felts.

May isn't really getting love, people here or simply saying if he can stay healthy he would be that post scorer we need. Eveyone has said put incentives / conditions on his minimum contract. If he can be healthy it is a smart move, if not we have a 1yr contract to get rid of by the trade deadline.

We look to be having 2 2nd rd picks and a 1st we will hopefully get rid of nazr, and we do not resign the 2 10 day contracts. Would free up 3-4 slots plus the possibility of not keeping the singletary contract and who knows if Howard will return or not ( i like him , and hope we keep him) but we have the possibilities to do some good trades and I am pumped. We will only be a better team regardless.

We will be a .500+ team next year, no doubt about it. I just think trading felts is not even thinkable at the moment unless we were able to get a deron williams style PG

would you seriously rather put stock in Sean May possibly returning next year healthy ready to play? How many years in a row is this with May? 3?

I don't see how you can pass up on someone like Griffin. I love Ray more than most on here, but if bringing in Griffin and the potential he brings and money we'd make on jersey/ticket sales, then I'd gladly trade Ray and go with DJ.

At the same time, we could even trade DJ instead of Ray. I guess it just depends on what you want, more defense (Ray) or more offense (DJ).

I feel that he wants to prove himself and he did drop from 305 to 262 and wants to be at 255 by camp. He knows he is running out of options, and the fans know he can play IF healthy.

Griffin, yeah he may help sell jerseys, but so did Oden. To me big guys are hit or miss. Oden missed his 1st yr due to injuries. I am not saying griffin is bad, I am simply saying why would we trade felton for him? No reason to, Okafor is decent and although he cant play against the howards of the league, with him we get double doubles.

I dont see us trading felts but i could be wrong, but if we are going to rely solely on DJ i think we will have issues at the point next yr.

A lot of players we could bring in to sell jerseys and tickets, I am just not sold on Griffin being that answer.

1. Sign Rasheed Wallace. Likes playing for Brown and fills a need either in the starting lineup or off the bench. He has won everywhere he has been. Use the mid-level exception
2. Re-sign Juwan Howard. Guy is a team leader. Go back and watch the transformation of attitude from the bench after he came
3. Re-sign Raymond Felton if reasonable. If not, unload him to somebody that will give us a decent 1st round pick or a SG to back up Raja
4. Find a starting caliber SG to make things easier for Raja. Guy has done a great job starting for us, but we need somebody who can spell him defensively and limit his minutes so he remains effective down the stretch.
5. Keep the nucleus intact. Wallace,Diaw,Okafor,Augustin,Bell. Add to those pieces

With that said I don't think the Pistons problems begin and end with AI. When Chauncey was there this season the Pistons were not looking real good. That team needs to be imploded and rebuilt imo. Anyway AI may relish a chance to play with LB again but I am not sure LB wants that headache at his age. A younger Larry could deal with AI's immature nonsense but Larry is not going to want a selfish snot ruining the chemistry of this team. Maybe if AI still had vintage skills but not now.

I agree about resigning Felton to a long term and getting rid of May.

All the talk about getting rid of Okafor, resigning Felts, trade this, should that. Our playoffs was lost because of the simple fact of Raja's health, sg position and a Wallace fill in at sf. If we had a backups for them our position would have been stronger. Remeber when they were out early and we lost some games that we could've won. With all that beeing said I change my stand from my earlier wish list.

1) Resign Felts
2) Get the low post threat we need in mid level excep Rasheed Wallace.
3) Resign May, talent can't be taught it can only be taught up. A 1yr incentive laced deal with a later option to buy.

6) Draft a sg and and best avaliable

Tell me where can you find out there in free agency a player with May's talent and hands that you could sign for as little as we could sign him for. I would be willing to take a 1yr low cost risk before you over pay. Our contracts are heavy and we have little cash. We can't go wrong signing May to a performance incentived based 1yr deal. If he gets down to 255 he will be lighter than he was his freshman yr of college and if that makes his knees hold up better then he can remain healthy.

A lot of players never come back from that knee surgery so thats the risk.

But if he can get healthy and conditioned where he can play at the Early 06 level he played at where he was scoring and grabbing boards then I am all for it.

The question is, Jordan likes May , and I am not sure if LB does, although Brown does have a high respect for Mays skills on the court when healthy. So we will have to see. Hate to see May go somewhere else in the east for little to no money and come play in Charlotte and drop 20 /10 on us in our house. :)

We keep felts, wallace, dj, raja and diaw... try and shop Mek, Nazr and Diop. Find solid backups in place of the 2 10day contract guys. The 10 Day DJ seems like an arrogant prick. And Cartier just not sure if he is ready to full time it for us.

I agree with what you say on May completely.

I don't think we necessarily shop Mek, but if we get a decent offer we listen. Dontell may be a prick but showed tonight he has some real ability, and the same for Cartier. ILBIT 100% on whether or not we bring them back at this point. Lil Sean is a no from what I can tell, he's done nothing and was inactive tonight below Dontell...Diop is LB's mancrush because he has done nothing but rebound and he plays wayyyyyyy too much. But oh well, he's here for awhile so hopefully LB can work some magic, Lord knows theres room for improvement.

We just need to try to bring in Jamal C or AI or someone...
