We are pretty much gonna end up in this range, so who should we expect? My guess would be Tyreke Evans. Not a great 3-point shooter but that is something that he can pick up in a few years in the league. Everything else you need to be a successful league SG is there. Demar Derozan would be about the same type of prospect with less defense.
If Ed Davis comes out, I think he has a chance at playing for us, but that is a long shot, hometown guess.

I'd say we're going to work out A LOT of SGs both who will go in our range or ahead of us and behind us, and in the 2nd round...and we'll probably take whoever is best in Larry's eyes when it comes our turn. 2nd round I'd think a SG and maybe one of those "over sized" PGs that Larry likes, but it all hinges on what we do with who we have over the summer too.
I can see Maynor and Budinger both having some appeal for different reasons...I think if they are brought in for workouts Lb will like Maynor (has size and some abilities that LB likes) but Maynor is drafted only if LB has decided to move Ray or DJ...
I think MJ will like a lot of what Budinger brings offensively...if LB sees him as a player he can develope into an average (or not a liability) on defense he would not surprise me either....
Last...I would not be surprised if we picked (ours 11-15) for someone else and got a vet back...J. Crawford comes to mind in this scenario...this is the one I think most likely to happen unless someone (LB or MJ) falls in love with a player we bring in for a workout...as in AA last year....but those are my best guesses in the 11-15 range...

Hey guys. No thread yet on Jrue Holiday of UCLA. He's listed as a PG, but also has the ability to score. To me, I think he is similar to Russel Westbrook, but I haven't seen enough to know if he would have the same abilities once he gets his NBA legs underneath him. Still, lots of upside to the kid. I have to think he is ahead of Warren and Teague on my Guard list if he stays in the draft. What do you think?

I kinda like Holiday, but I don't think he's quite as athleticas Westbrook is. He might not be as big as Westbrook too, I've seen him listed at 185 earlier in the year (although it was early on). I wouldn't mind him, and he's definitely over Curry, Teague, and Warren.

He's something like 6'4 195 now? Don't quote me though.
All the times I've seen Holiday, I see him as a more polished Westbrook. He's not the same physical specimen as Westbrook was, but he seems to have a bit more intelligence and plays a grown up game.
I wouldn't mind us taking Tyreke Evans at that point. If not, then hopefully we go for a big boy like James Johnson and shore up our frontline. But I wouldn't mind one bit trading the pick for either a higher spot or a vet like Crawford.

I like this kid...
DeMar DeRozan
Shooting Guard (Rank: #10) | 6-6, 200 | Age: 19
USC (Freshman)
ESPN has Holiday at 6'4, 200
I like Tyreke or Demar, or even Stephen Curry, but I'd rather see us go after someone like Jamal Crawford first, since that likely gets rid of Nazzy's fatass contact too.

I like the idea of taking a SG - can't imagine that we'd draft another PG with our first round pick, even if we do lose Felton. Augustin has yet to prove he can start at the NBA level at the 1 and we wouldn't want to have two guys that young as our only PGs anyway. Thus, we either sign Felton OR get a PG in free agency and draft either a true big man or go after athletic shooting guards to pair with Raja Bell.

Well right now I think that we are most likely to get a pick between 10 and 13 because a team from the west will probably get the 14th due to having a better record (PHX is the one I'm talking about). This all depends on how the lottery balls fall, but that is the most probable area we will be selecting in. It's really close between the top non-playoff teams in the east right now.

Very interesting because it could mean getting (or losing) a guy like Evans, Henderson or Derozan at SG and are projected to go top 10ish.
I guess we draft the best 2 available and hopefully sign one hopefully really good free agent and probably a veteran with one more good year left in the tank for the minimum to add depth. We're good thru our first 6 or so guys. If we draft well and sign a couple of guys for depth we can make a pretty good run next year no problem.
