I completely agree, and he damn sure plays better than Diop.

It's sad, I really like the guy, he deserves better. Hopefully he can get us Jamal Crawford.

This may actually hurt his trade value. If other teams know we're willin to trade him then they wouldn't give as much back in return. I doubt it would make much of a difference in Nazr's case, but you never know

Nazr is frustrated, and rightfully so, but I just don't see many viable trade options that are mutually beneficial. I'd love to swap him for a 2nd rd pick, but the teams that have available cap space aren't going to spend it on him. We could probably work a deal for a guy with a contract of similar length and size just to allow him to move on, but that doesn't really help our situation at all.

The bottom line is we never should have traded for Diop, and Nazr should be our back up center. Hard to question much that LB did this year, but I don't get why he was so hung up on trading for Diop. Nazr was very adequate in that role. Diop is a little better defensively but Nazr has far superior offensive skills. At best it's a wash so there was no need to make that trade. I have to question us giving up an expiring in Hollins and, despite all the griping, a pretty favorable contract in Carroll for and over-priced Diop. Having nearly $14 mil tied up in two mediocre back up centers defies logic. Since we knew were to going to try to move Nazr this summer, he should have been playing heavy minutes once we were out of the playoffs to try to up his value. He showed he can still play a little bit in the Orlando game. He'll obviously be much easier to trade once he's an expiring, but barring a miracle, we're probably stuck with him, and him with us for at least one more year.

Maybe the Bobcats can add another productive player or two with rough contracts in favor of instant cap freedom.

But honestly I love Charlotte. I had a great time here. I was hoping when I got here that this would be my last stop."I love the guys, I love the city, my wife loves the schools, the weather. I was really hoping to be here and be part of building a good team."

Gotta love that though. Nice to see people really like the city and the team and want to be here. Might affect some of the big names' decisions when it comes to considering Charlotte as a possible destination

Charlotte is a good place to be,the Hornets players all seemed to like it here when they were here well except Alonzo Morning but thats another reason I think...

I doubt that, the Hornets, as popular and attractive a place as they were, were never able to sign any big names from what I remember, they had to draft everyone or trade for them. Except for maybe PJ Brown. But I don't think we'll be FA players anytime soon anyways.

I think you are wrong there the Hornets had Vladdy from LA in the Kobe trade (Kobe had places like LA or Chicago in his eyes) Baron Davis came here in trade, Athony Mason, Mike Gminski... Maybe not Larry Bird, James Worthy, MJ, Scotty Pippen and several others, but all those guys were already on their teams and wernt going no where. One thing though charlotte may never have the type pull a LA, Boston type team has on players in this league, thats the stuff the salery cap supposed to take care of....

How else do you get players? They really didnt need that much from free agency...

we've tried to trade him

I told him we tried to trade him, and we had some possibilities fall through. With Nazr’s contract, in these economic times, it’s not easy to move."

“It’s not something that I take lightly,” Mohammed said Thursday. “If I’m back here, I want to play. If that can’t be facilitated, I don’t want to be back.”
----

Well we have to unload Nazr or Diop this summer, but Nazr if he is displeased I say dont let the door hit him in the ass on the way out.

The Nazr trade wasn't the best. I say we ship his ass back to detroit, they need some more help. I would rather keep diop. But it is clear one of them is gone with the FO and LB saying they are more than likely keeping May and Felts.

So we get rid of say Nazr ( could be diop ) , Cartier, Jefferson. And we have 1 1st and 2 2nd rounders in the draft. I would think it want be to hard to move nazr and let him go warm the bench somewhere else but we may have to package a draft pick or 2.

I think Nazr will be traded but hard to say, but LB likes Diop so I dont see him going. To trade Nazr I see a package deal in order to move him....

which would be either the pick, Bell or DJ. Those are the only assets that are available to give up (assuming we wouldn't dump Crash for that).

Unless it either gets us significant cap relief or a a better player I'd prefer just to let him hang for another year...if he wants out that badly he can always just exercise his option.

it is a shame, i dont understand why some people have a negative attitude about Nazr, but he has proven that when he gets play time, he can contribute. He is just not a Larry Brown player, mostly because of his defensive short comings. He is a good player, and i think we should have played him more, especially at the end of the season. After we were eliminated we could have showcased him, but we didnt. This will effect what value we can get in return. And before that, Nazr could have been useful if given the chance. I still get chills down my spine remembering Diop on the court towards the end of games and getting the ball, getting fouled, and air balling free throws. Nazr would not have done that, however since he is not such a great defender, LB refused to play him. I wish things worked out differently, but oh well...

Scenario by Kings' fans if they get the No. 1 (they have the worst record)...

DJ/Gana for Thompson/Udrih

Thompson turned out to be a very good pick by the Kings:

Jason Thompson:

08-09 Season (Rookie)

11.1 PPG
7.4 RPG
1.1 APG
0.7 BPG
0.6 SPG

50% FG
70% FTsThat was in an average of 28 mpg. Very good rebounder, he's got some decent range out to about 20 feet.

I suggested swapping Nazr for Gana (I doubt LB is ready to give up on him yet) and them adding in a 2nd or two for the year in salary savings.

Thoughts?

I think it would depend on how well Ajinca's development is going. If he's not improving at the rate they want, then I could see the trade happening, but I'd much rather use Augustin's value and bring in an high level to elite SG (someone like Jamal Crawford) and possibly bring back Brendan Wright or Anthony Randolph in the same deal. I'd take both of them over Thompson, and I'd definitely take Crawford over Udrih.

That would leave the door open for us to draft a PG again with our first pick and get someone like Ty Lawson or Eric Maynor
