We need a backup two. Thoughts? Honestly even though I am completely sracastic, I wonder if he could. I heard he occasionally practices with the team. How old is he anyway?
He's 46, hasn't practiced in a year and a half, and was just inducted to the HOF..I don't think so.
Backup 2, Anthony Parker is Bonnell's favorite, but I'm gonna wait to see whats out there first.

not gonna happen. He is too old and just got into the HOF, he is done.
However, we do need a scorer, and i think their is a certain player we could use.

You don't like Jordan. Understandable, but what about Julius Peppers. UNC guys love him. He was a beast downlow for the tarheels. Still in excellent condition and in a stalemate with the Panthers. Like Josh Childress jumped ship to Greece he could jump ship to another sport. Who likes this idea?
I like Jordan as a GM, not a player :p
I'm a UNC guy, and as far as Peppers, pardon my French, but I fucking hate that worthless biich who can't play more than half-ass for a fucking season and doesn't give a shit about the fans who've followed him his entire damn career. Fuck Him, Fuck Julius, Fuck him. I don't want him. On the Panthers or the Bobcats. Because with him, the team loses 90 levels of manliness. Fucking asshole. Whining about being paid 18 million. What the hell!!!

well being that I am from DC I already lived through on MJ comeback so I am good on that front. I was really big on the A.I. deal but then I realized that he would stunt DJ's growth, kill Diaw's pride in ball movement, and completely expose Okafor who could not replicate an old 2001 Dikembe Mutombo. Not to mention we would have to get rid of Raymond who may turn out to be a solid level headed pro who can step it up on offense and win a few on his own... (think C. Billiups or early 90's Robert Pack)
If we had a shot at the 26 year old Iverson I would be down, becuase that guy could win on his own. This 33yr old AI would just set us back 3 more years.

Actually, he would provide a place for Diaw's ball movement to go, and stop the shot clock violations and excess unfoced turnovers. I don't quite get your point on Okafor, but that's becuase I didn't watch Deke in '01. We would keep either Ray or DJ and start them at point, AI would be the two guard and split time with Raja. I think that's what most people don't get...AI wouldn't be our 1, he'd be the shooting guard. And when we played Kobe, D-Wade, etc. Raja would get the nod to start for defensive purposes, and AI would get haevy minutes at backup 2, which he said he's fine with.

yeah he would give Diaw ball movement to go... a black hole. Diaw had the whole team buying into moving the ball and that would stop with AI. Also I went to about 90% of the home game and can only recall maybe one Shot Clock violation. Larry Does not play that foolishness, last year under Sam I could see that though.
We need DJ to develop and he would not get his fga's with AI on the squad... he would alomst get pushed out of the line up cause AI plays the whole game.
What I mean about Okafor is that he lacks the toughness of Deke. He would not provide that defensive stability. Now that may be because he is a 4 and not a true 5, but far too many times I have seem him take one in the chops...and be done for the night.
I am from DC and really do love Iverson. We claim him like a son because of Georgetown. But he's just past his prime and I really like what I see out of the guys we have now. We can make the playoffs with one more solid SG to back up Raja.

The rest of the team would still buy into the ball movement, the problem last year was there were multiple times were they ran down the clock and had to force shots because there was TOO MUCH ball movement. Getting someone who isn't afraid to shoot in AI would relieve some of that. And I watched a lot of the games and I saw more than a few SCV's, none of them pleasing to LB.
DJ would still play the backup 1, and he could rest Ray, who played the 5th most minutes in the league this year. Plus Raja or AI is liable to be hurt, and he could be a backup 2 while they were out. So he'd still get minutes.
We've all complained about Mek's pussyness, even LB has. Just look at his quotes on the wiki. I want him to man up just like you, and I think everyone here does. I can only think of maybe two people here pleased with his performance, and they might have been on "performance decreasers" at the time. :o
I understand where you're coming from, I just thing you aren't seeing how AI would be used. But that seems to be a sommon theme...

There is a huge difference between ball movement and guys afraid to take the big shot. I agree that we need "the guy" who is looking for the big shot and not afraid to fail. Right now the only guy is Raymond, and quite frankly other than that shot in Detroit he missed all other opportunities to win (at home)
Thinking long term I just feel that A.I. would not be the solution, and he has not proven that he can mentor anyone as of yet (which would have been a huge plus). Maybe he gives us a few 40pt games but I have seen this act when I lived in DC with MJ and it would not end well.
Overall we need either a starting SG that is dynamic, or a solid reserve with size and decent talent. I hope we get that before the start of next season. Better yet, I know we will make a move, I am just very interested in what it will be.
