Last year LB said that Alexis would be a lottery pick if he had waited one more year to go pro.
I'm curious, Where do YOU think Alexis would be picked if he were being picked in this year's draft?

I actually think he probably would be a lottery pick this year. So, even though he didn't play much, it's probably not a bad deal for us.

Ajinca could take 3-5 years to become a rotation player and the pick still look brilliant down the road. The kid is super young and has great skills as has been said many times. He reminds me a bit of Aldridge for the blazers, who didn't do much his first year but then looked great down the line.
LB said the only thing Ajinca lacks is strength but he does not even NEED strength to be an effective player he just needs savy and experience. If he could develope some strenght that would be great but he will get rebounds and blocks just by being tall anyway. The main thing he has to do is learn not to foul so much.
Easily a lottery pick - maybe even top 10.
He's got more upside than Thabeet IMO, and he's going in the top 5.

i have no idea. If we didnt take him at the pick we did last year, i think he would have gone about 27th. This year i would say 9-15 based on his potential and teams in need of a big man with a shooting touch.
I definitely think he would be a lottery pick this year. He wouldn't be top 5 or anything unless he had a breakout year in France but I could see him going in that 6-14 range for sure.
All in all, I still think it was a good deal for us full of long term potential.

Other then Rubio, Who are the other over sea's players?
I still think Ajinca is a project but well worth it if he actually pans out. No offence but he's too French, We need to force feed some toughness to that string bean. He runs the floor well, But not with the same energy as Ryan Hollins. I wish we could see the 2nd years and the rookies play in summer league this year.

What can we blame Obama for?
What are the predictions for Ajinca next year? You think he will really get some playing time? Other then garbage time. I think LB really like this guy. I think he'll see the same minutes Ryan Hollins started seeing before he was traded. I actully turned into a Hollins fan this year, But Diop is ok. I just want to see him play, see what he's doing wrong and what he's been working on.

^I think he'll be in the DLeague again at the start of the season & then Coach Brown will call him back up mid season (I thought we should have done this last season). I would hope he could contribute more than Diop as a back up.
Weak draft for bigs pushes him in the 9-15 spot like BETCATS said.
What can we blame Obama for?
the whole spending more than we need to and not being fiscally responsible. I could go on, but I'd rather not until we see if he's repeating history or this is the first time his policies will work (other leaders in the past have tried them, to no avail). Just so you know (I'm not saying this seriously), the definition of insanity is trying the same thing and expecting a different result :p

I want to see him play more than May, but he'll still be beind Vladi and Diop, but if he keeps working he could be in the starting rotation a few games. But it all depends on his progress. And the number of protein shakes he consumes.

Great question but tough to answer. If he wasn't drafted, he likely would've gotten more time playing somewhere overseas and people would have a better feel for what he can actually do. The only new information that we really have on him is that he didn't seem to put on any weight, played ok in the d-league when he wasn't in foul trouble and he has a good sense of humor.
Without any new real info, why would he be a significantly higher pick this year? I'll buy maybe a 15, but not the lottery.

Because it's a crap draft with even crapper big men.
Hell, BJ Mullens is being talked about as a potential lottery pick and I'd take Lexy wayyyyyyyyyyy before I'd take him.

I think he will get more pt b/c we will be leading more games and giving our starter rest. I think he will have a game where he hits 5 3s and goes off for about 46 points. Then in year three I think he will start average like 5.4 blocks and be the defensive MVP

I think if LB can get Ajinca to move his feet and stop playing defense with his hands he could be a pretty good shot blocker in this league. I think in the begining of the year he'll see alot of time just so LB can see what he's learned. But if we get into a playoff push :g:.
I'd like to point out even though ajinca was sent to the D-league this year, He still play'd more NBA games then Sean May.

I actually think he moves his feet pretty well already. What I see a lot of guys do to him though, even smaller post guys, is get a shoulder past him and then go to the other side of the rim so he can't block the shot. We need to make sure that Mek or Gerald is there to help only if his guy goes to the other side of the rim, otherwise be ready for the rebound.
