We're just a few days away.
Does anyone here have an premonitions or psychic foreshadowing of us slipping into the top 3?
I'm predicting Thunder, Knicks, Wizards finish 1,2,3 (http://bobcatsplanet.com/wp/early-results-from-the-2009-fixed-nba-draft-lottery).
Somebody give me some reason to feel like we are going to beat the odds.

I think there is a 97% chance we will wind up with the 12th pick. 2% chance of the 1st, 2nd or 3rd and 1% chance of the 13th or 14th.
I'm just not optimistic enough to even entertain anything other than 12th. Unless Larry Brown falls in love with somebody that falls to us, we could be looking at another situation like two years ago where we draft BPA and then work the phones all night to trade him for another team's vet.

We'll probably get the 12th pick, but I'm not worried about anything outside the top 3 anyway so it's fine...
How about starting the day after the draft lottery, we make a BCP mock draft, pick by pick starting with the top one. Each day we make a poll and see who we all think is going to be picked?

I have this wierd feeling that the Grizzlies will win the lottery or be the team that moves up the farthest...I think we stay at 12, we've never gotten all that lucky, doubt it happens now...
Who are we sending to the lottery anyways? I think that decides our pick. We need MJ up there kicking Sterns ass to get us a top 3 pick

How many lottery balls did Chicago have last year?
I thought it was something like a 10% chance they would get the #1 pick.
I predict that we pick at the 5th spot.........:hypo:

The lottery is only for picks 1-3. After that point, the teams are placed in order of record, from worst to best.

The Clippers just don't get it. How can they send Baron? I guess its better than Dunleavy. They should send Billy Crystal or at least Eric Gordon. Someone who didn't torpedo the team.
I still don't understand why the Maloofs don't use their Vegas ties and send the Blue Man Group. Don't they know a mentalist with a show on the strip that can change the outcome in their favor?
I like DJ going. Would've preferred MJ or LB but DJ would've been my next choice. Although I'd enjoy Crash getting interviewed just so the whole world can enjoy his undecipherable baratone (sp).
It'd be cool to see DJ in a Katt Williams-esque green leprechaun suit :D

Next thing you know the Pacers will be sending Tinsley!!

As Ziggy stated, you are correct. They draw for the first 3 spots only and then go in order of record after that so if we aren't revealed in the 14, 13, or 12 spot, then we get the 3 or higher.

I just so dont want to be bumped back to #13, meaning someone behind us jumped us, and if we dont hear our name at #12, I will be elated. Anything in the Top 3 would be awesome and a big help. But landing the grand prize of Griffin, that could be a turning point for this franchise and make us a contender for many years to come. Hopes and dreams alive for a few hours at least. I just have that feeling that when #12 gets called, it is gonna rhyme with Charlotte Bobcats. I'll be tuned into ESPN and praying to the Basketball Gods all day until 8:30 pm.

I think if we landed #2, we would likely trade that to someone back a couple spots for their pick and their next year's First. Why? Because we wont need Rubio, and there are a few teams that want him in a major way. We could still get our SG from Arizona State James Harden AND get someone's First from next season. That would be almost as good as getting Blake Griffin. If we get #3, we grab Harden and be happy. But alas, if we pick #12 or #13, we just shake our heads and wonder why the Basketball Gods dislike us so much.
And yes, if we land #1, #2 or #3, I think we are Playoff bound next year - barring injuries.

"I want Balboa! I want Balboa!"
Now Knicks picking Danilo Galinari makes more sense. Somebody should told them the fact he's an Italian doesn't mean he doesn't know what pain is. Still there is no Drago in NBA...
Anyway if pacers (13th pick so far) would sent Tinsley and won the first pick I would like to see both Tinsley immediate reaction and faces of their front office:biggrin:

You're right about that. Ziggy and I are talking about the last 20 years of them basically being a terrible organization. They had a brief glimmer of hope a few years ago, but have returned to being a complete screw-up of an organization.

I don't see anyone but Griffin picked number one; no way. If the Clips decide they don't need him; then they HAVE to trade down.
Good news is that the Clips probably will go with Griffin and then have an abundance (a veritable "dnbman dearth" hehe) of big men on the roster. Maybe ripe for the Cats to move in and trade for one.
Better yet, maybe the Cats can deal that #1 pick away from the Clips. THAT could be sweet.
If the Cats couldn't land #1, then the Clips gotta be the next best choice. Kinda funny too.
i would like to see us trade the pick. the mocks have us with gerald henderson. although i think he is a great player, he can't shoot from deep and we don't need another penetrator. we already have wallace, felton and diaw. i would like to see us draft d. blair if he is there. tough, offensive rebounder. perfect for larry. will add toughness and offense to our second unit and can be added to the starting lineup against bigger tougher teams.
murphman
05-19-2009, 10:34 PM
Henderson' lock down D will be very enticing to Coach Brown. Unless he explodes or tanks in workouts, it seems like good fit.
Trading always sounds great but we need the cap space for Felton and I just don't see many teams lining up to take Nazr off our hands. With all the specualtion about trading that will occur, I am starting to believe that our team will look very close to last years plus our three draft picks and minus Singletary and C. Martin.

Wow! He is their Sam Vincent.
No, he makes Vincent look good. Vincent got us on a 5-game win streak and had two guys who could go off for 40 points any night. Dumbleavy has a 3-lottery streak and 5 out of 6. And he has one guy who can go off for 40 punches. (Zach Randolph, a former Jail Blazer) Their owner is just as incompetent. I feel bad for anyone in LA who doesn't want to watch the Lakers, because the Clippers suck. I know Simmons talke dabout Clips fans (wearing their Brand jerseys) avidly rooting for the other team for a week until the Clips actually did something...
