Well its kinda got me scraching my head of why everyone is thinking were making a BIG move this offseason :g:. The only person I would even consider moving is Felton, Nazzi (and May but thats a diffrent story >:(.) Honesly I like our lineup the way it is. Ray may not have the best shot but he Is getting alot better (thanks to LB.) DJ14 although undersized, has a Crazy, Orgasimc (insert randsom comment here) shot (and don't Charlotte teams have a tendency to get undersize players, a la Mugsy Bouges) Raja is a great leader and CLutch player (along with Diaw.) Crash is just a beast, and Mek is averaging a double-double (just noone in the NBA community exept for us seem to notice how big a deal that is.) Overall just keep it the way it is and let LB do his thing. That concudes my rant for today.

Does anyone else notice that whenever anyone talks about Mek its always the same 2 things discussed about him. 1) he is too soft 2) He averages a double double...

Guys, what we fail to realize is that even with the new cast, we only had a .500 season. Sure they're going to grow some due to the Brown Effect--but we're not going to win a championship with our current roster. Our team is good enough to make the playoffs but I'm not comfortable with just making the playoffs.
We need to deal either Mek or Diaw and bring in help at nearly every position. Sorry if I would much rather do it in the offseason where guys can get used to eachother without having to do it during the season and potentially lose games in the process.

They were also hurt and played a ton of road games with the roster as-is. But I agree we aren't championship material with this core, and that has to be the goal. I doubt Mek will ever win a ring, and Ray or DJ will be gone if/when we win one. But we should aim for being the 4th seed this season and winning Round 1, which would be a huge step for the franchise. And to do that, nothing dramatic should be done...we need ot learn how to win before we go out and get the major changes. And we can definately help our depth in the draft, so that should propel us farther. No projects this year...I hope.

You never aim for the 4th seed.
That's like Olympians saying, "Yeah, I'm going for the Silver today"

The ultimate goal is a championship for sure, but it's a significant step for this team to make the playoffs regardless of the seed. When the season starts how many title contenders are there seriously? Typically no more than 5 (and thats being generous) and while building toward that and hoping for it are legitimate wants, to enter the off-season expecting that a team can flip a "title contender" switch is unrealistic. Hope for the best, but enjoy the fact that in a league where several teams have a negative outlook, this team is on the rise.

Um, you do if you're realistic. We aren't title contenders and we know it. We shoot for what we can do, and that's 4th. don't see whats wrong with that...

That's why we make the necessary moves to put us in the position to be title contenders. Thank you for proving my point ;)

Yes, but we can't do all that in one offseason. It'd just be a mess. It takes time...

You do remember what the Celtics did last year, right?
You do remember what the Celtics did last year, right?
And it took 3 years of drafts to acquire all the players they traded...plus the picks they had in that draft?
Tell me how we become a contender this offseason. I've got plenty of time...

I would love to see if we could move nazr and or mek during the offseason. But the fact is we would more than likely have to package nazr with a pg.
I also would rather see it done before pre-season as it would give the team time to get into the gym with one another and help the new members into the system. There is several bigs like mek that will be dealt in the off season i think, we may not get a double double but maybe one with a bit better offense and passing and more tough around the basket.
I am reading a lot of posts in various boards on real gm about one of our PG's and Nazzy,, or for Mek and a 2nd.
I agree with Dav, we are a bottom 4 playoff team,, which means we need to make a move. yes we were a 500 team after the all-star break but look what an injury here and there did to us.
I say we keep felts, wallace, diaw, bell as our core.
decide if may and vlad and DJ remain or trade
Shop Mek, Nazy, Diop, with possible trade ups or outs with our draft picks
johnson and cartier let them walk
And then see if we get a decent few FA trades. The core is what we need to build on, no need to keep the others around if we can get players that compliment the core and contribute.
We want to restructure now instead of after the all-start break so we do not have to let new players learn the system during a push to the playoffs.. let BJ sell to MJ and have a great season.
