Does anyone know if any good fishing spots in the NorthWest Charlotte/ Huntersville / Lake Norman area. I've taken my son a few times and he enjoys it, but I'd like to try somewhere where we might actually catch something.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

No, but I know if you come on up the road to Lake HKY you'll catch some stuff, they have tourney's on this mess all the time. Just don't plan on going swimming in it...ugh.
But as for Charlotte, none that I know of.

Well its about a hour north east of Charlotte but just south of high rock lake and north of baden lake is high rock reservoir, some people call it tuckertown reservoir, but it has great catfishing there Ive caught many many many catfish there. Just go along the bank if you have no boat and fish in the shallows along the rocks where the birds like to stand. If you have a boat you can put in at any of the "wildlife" boat ramps... LOL if you need a tour guide I work for free, I love to go fishing and so does my ole lady.....

I used to hit Tuckertown with my Grandpa when I was little. Great catfishing out that way

Try Sean May's navel....you're bound to find one or two whale sharks up in there.

High rock and Tuckertown FTW. I caught a few Crappie at High Rock this weekend. You can also fish at the dam near tucker town.
