So just got done listening to Bill Simmons podcast with Chad Ford talking about the draft -- no mentions of the Bobcats (except a minor Bob Johnson mention in the crappiest owner discussion) until the VERY end, when they had an interesting discussion, here's my make-shift transcript:

Bill Simmons: I forgot to mention one thing to you when you brought up the Bobcats. I think Iverson is going there, I have no inside info, it just seems like a natural fit, Larry Brown, Michael Jordan, they need kinda that alpha-dog scorer type, they don't really have a guy like that. And not only that, but I think he's going to have a huge comeback season. This guy has been counted out at every point of his life, and every time you think hes done he comes back. I can see him having one good season for them.

Chad Ford: Maybe, I think Larry Brown is the only coach who is willing to coach Allen Iverson right now. And I do think Larry prides himself, and I think this is partly the Terrence Williams thing, he prides himself on saying I can take strange difficult players and I can get them to all play together as a team, and thats part of what I do as Larry Brown. And so I can definitely see the appeal of being the guy that gets Allen Iverson back on track in his career. But he better only give him a one or two year deal.

Bill Simmons: They sign Iverson, they draft Terrence Williams, with the guys they had last year, thats a pretty interesting team.

Chad Ford: Playoff team probably, lets just pray Michael Jordan doesn't give Iverson 80 million dollars to do it.

I was thinking bout Iverson possibly coming to Charlotte next season and i know ever since he left Philly the teams he has played on has somewhat fallen short of expectations especially in Detroit............BUT the whole Iverson would play better with LB cliche isn't overrated.I think Iverson will play well with LB,playing alongside better/ pgs(Felton,DJ) will also benefit Iverson. How does that play out in relation to what we get in the draft though

If we really do get Iverson (which I'm against), then I'd trade Raja to the team that drafts Jordan Hill and somebody else. Then we get 2 lottery level talents and whoever else makes the salary match for Raja and fill our two biggest needs.

Ray / Augustin
Iverson / Williams
Crash / Vlad
Diaw / Hill
Mek / Diop

Pretty good with 2 talents at every position. Add in our two other draft picks and the rest of the guys we ready have and we get a pretty damn solid squad.
Pretty good

If LB feels like he could get us over the hump by all means sign him. I agree with Swedd though Bell would have to be moved.

I doubt AI will play for free...and for a team that does not want to spend money I doubt AI plays for them...and the only way we get cap space is if a team with it wants one of our mediocre (read bad into that) wants it for nothing in return...or...we give a player away (read fire sale) that we need to make a playoff run with...

This is very interesting, indeed. I've went back and forth about this...AI is definitely a high risk/high reward type of player at this point. He could really bring the scoring punch and a few more whistles that we're used to. Or he could blow the place up. I guess I lean more towards getting him (If he's willing to play for less money) due to his ties with and respect for LB. And to steal a line from many here...In Larry Brown I Trust.
