Higgins talking about the draft and saving money scares me.
My first thought was we trading Mek for a scrub just to save money. With all the Dally rumers around.

For some reason i don't trust thease statments.....................?
dav...both of the "trade rumors", GSW and 76, would have saved us some money...if the subtle message to other teams is "we're willing to trade but not take back more money" then I really have no problem with this approach...I'll only have a problem if we go into fire sale mode...

Word on the street is that Higgins will be on WFNZ's Mac Attack tomorrow during the 8 o'clock hour.

These kind of statements concern me as well. The best thing that can happen for this team is for Bobo to sell the team quickly. The longer it takes, and the longer the team stays in the red, the worse it could get.
When my sales rep called and talked with me about ticket renewal I specifically asked him about the team being sold...and I'm paraphrasing from memory..."The word in-house is that the sale will be completed within 2 months (this was 1-2 weeks ago) or it will be put on hold and not happen this year".
What I took away was either MJ puts a group together and gets it done quick or they wait for the season to end so it is not a distraction...

Fire sale, is what im sceard of. I start thinking things like the Dally trade . What if we thinking of trading Mek for expirings after trading for Dally. Things has all ways kinda kicked us in the tail , And with tight pockets BOB , thats cause for concern.

First, I think the plan is to save money but still try and make the playoffs. The Raja for GSW stuff was reconfirmed by ESPN today as being an offer from US and GSW are the ones who shot it down.
Personally I think that would have hindered our chances more than help...but that could be just me and my Raja homerism.
Second, in another forum a poster alluded to a sale happening soon (about a week ago) but wouldn't elaborate. That poster isn't one to just throw stuff out there, but that is all he offered up.

We should have a good idea after tomorrow night. Hope we still trying to make the playoffs.

I watched/listened to the Higgins press conference from the other day, and I thought it made sense, and didn't come away from it scared about a fire sale.
The point he made was that he's not going to Bob to ask for money to get near the LT unless we're a title contender. He says it would be a hard sell to go to Bob and ask to add to the payroll if the current phase of our organization is to become only a playoff team.
Don't get me wrong, I want the sale done tomorrow, but until I see evidence that we're altering the roster ONLY to decrease payroll, I think the organization is just fine.

And yeah, the GSW proposed trade was a system shock, and I'm a Raja homer to, spectre, as you know, but his incessant injuries really started to have me worry about his future productivity as the season closed down, and I think Azubuike is the real deal. Still, very glad to have Raja for the time being, and hopefully he's got the injury bug out of his system.
