And we have a few to spare. Should we try to trade one of our C's to the Rockets?

Take them. For free. We don't want them. PLEASE. Take one.

Man you beat me to the chase, I just saw the article and i immediately thought we should offer diop away. Look his contract is much worse than nazr. Look its been reported that nazr has worked his butt off this offseason so i will take that work ethic plus the less expensive contract anyday.
i dont think a trade can be had right now, but once free agency starts i think diop for barry and carl landry would work for both teams

We can't trade for Landry until Sept 25th since we signed him to an offer sheet last year and the Rockets matched it.

Maybe we could send Bell and a center for Tmac...

That salary doesn't even come close to matching up.

How much does he make? We could throw in radman too.

Why not take a chance and trade Mek to them for a good 4, a back up 5, and their 1st for next year? I know am I crazy? No I'm not crazy at all. I really think Nazr and Diop could handle it along with a back up 5 and use the extra 1 to draft a 5 next year. Just throwing it out here to see everyone's reaction, because I really feel we will never win a championship with Mek at the 5... I doubt anyone would go for it but not a bad gamble....

Well I'm a Nazzy backer, he has similar numbers per36 with Mek, and he won a championship, so yea, but I'd rather trade Diop.

Diop can be traded whenever.

Thank God.
Him and his exorbitant contract.

Dude, I would trade Mek for Landry and a first next year no doubt.
Does anyone understand how ridiculously, insanely, stupidly deep the draft will be next year?!

Not really, your our scout along with Slam, but I'm guessing it is deep what this year was weak?

A trade that works salary wise is Mek for Landry, Barry, & Cook.
Landry is who we'd want to keep while Barry & Cook both have contracts that expire after this season.
The snag is that we can't trade for Landry until Sept. 25th.
Anyone have an opinion of that trade from the Rockets point of view? Personally I have a hard time seeing them doing it.

It's not fair how deep it was. It's going to blow the 2008 Draft out of the water.
EDIT: Nevermind, new thread!

It'll take more than that to get Scola again

Mek? Mek's far better than Scola.

Mek? Mek's far better than Scola.
Mek = 13/10 for 9.5mil this past year
Scola = 12/9 for 3.3mil this past year
And Scola doesn't have to be reminded to be a man.
I'm not saying Mek sucks or Scola is the best ever, just that Mek is clearly not "far better" (if at all)

Exactly my point about trading Mek, but we would want their 1st because next years draft is gonna be huge........

I agree with rsxnova. Bell + a Center and some other spare change for t-mac will work out well for the bobcats, but i don't now if they'll be willing to pay T-Mac 22 mill.

In order to complete such a deal, we should send them at least +18 million contract back, cause T-Mac's contract is $22.4 million.
Rockets now have 13 players under guaranteed contracts+David Andersen (who will defintely sign soon)+James White (non-guaranteed)+Chase Budinger (draft pick who will likely make the team). For such a deal, we have to send at least 3 players, this puts them to 15 guaranteed players plus 3 other players. They'd have to release 1, maybe 2 players and we also have to include some cash in the deal.
Theoratically, Nazr+Radmanovic+Bell for McGrady works. And Rockets really have no real centers at the very moment. The critical point is, if we put Diop instead of Nazr, this deal "might" not work. In this case, we could add non-guaranteed Dontell Jefferson and still can make deal happen. Unfortunately either way, we don't have so many tradable aspects and I really can't understand why Rockets whould accept such offer. They don't need Radmanovic, they have Cook and Andersen as shooting big men. They absolutely don't need Bell while Ariza is there. Unless we add Diaw or Wallace (which we will never do), our offers will be problematic.
McGrady's contract will be an invaluable chip in February, they can gather much better offers. And they don't have to hurry now, they will need a true center in playoffs, not in regular season.
