View Full Version : Pistons' fan's 3 team trade idea.

I'm a Pistons fan, and what would you guys think about this 3 team trade?

Pistons get:
Carlos Boozer and Emeka Okafor

Jazz get:
Jason Maxiell and Pistons 1st round pick.

Bobcats get:
Rip Hamilton and Pistons 2nd round pick.

I'm sure the Pistons could throw in an additional 2nd round pick, or a future 1st round pick, or perhaps an Arron Afflalo.

What does everyone think?

dnbman

That's pretty terrible for us. Hamilton makes almost as much money as Okafor and would provide a lot less for out team. Okafor is one of the only real inside presences we have. Not to mention, Okafor is still entering his prime, while Hamilton is going downhill.

Affalo or a pick would make it interesting, but I'd have to say no.

BTW... teams aren't allowed to trade consecutive 1st rounders. So, if Utah got next year's 1st rounder, we'd have to wait to '12 for ours.

Yea, i've been thinking about it, and what about this?

Pistons get: Okafor, Gerald Wallace

Jazz get: Rip Hamilton and Pistons 1st round pick

Bobcats get: Carlos Boozer and Tayshaun Prince and Pistons 2nd round pick

How about that?

No thanks on the first deal. Not much of a deal for anyone but Detroit, huh?

Also, why would we want to basically trade Oak and Wallace for Boozer and Tayshaun? Especially when Boozer may just be a 1 year rental. Silly.

Both trades absolutely suck for us...but Dumars would love them!

I read on realgm some cat proposed Diaw for Boozer, then did a 3 way with Cats, Detriot and NO Hornets.
Our lineup was

Dj, Rip, Wallace, Boozer and Okafor. I could live with that but somehow we would need to keep Felts for starting pg and backup sg.

since this is the room for crazy ideas:

Bobcats get:
Carlos Boozer
Utah's 2nd round pick

Utah gets:
Okafor
Bell

then we sign iverson to a mid-level or minimum (whatever, as long as we get him) / find a way to keep Raymond (ie trading one of our centers to Houston for cash), then sign some D-League prospects for depth and make Lexy earn his cash...

you guys got a problem with that:paddle:

Other than Houston being over the cap and couldn't trade for one of our centers without a third team being involved to take some salary or giving us salary back....

great move for this year. but, if he doesn't resign with us (which he probably wouldn't when high market teams will be offering good money) next year we are screwed.

Raja, Crash, 3d, Ray, DJ (to an extent), Nazzy, Mek (sometimes), etc.

But I like Diaw's style of play more for us than Boozer's...and Diaw is smarter.

I'm not talking about for us. And even if I was, Boozer is still probably better.

You always say Diaw initiates the offense. If we're going to be paying Felts $6mil + we need to let him do his job. Boozer is a 20/10 guy. You don't pass on that.

(That said, I'm not advocating a trade for him as we're all aware he's going to bolt after this coming year. I'm just arguing for the sake of arguing)

How much we pay Felts is irrelevant. Diaw is a POINT Forward, Boozer is a POWER Forward. And no, I'd take Diaw over Boozer even if Boozer was healthy and signed to a long term deal for the 'Cats. Sorry.

schnitzel: what good is it to have our 4 threading the needle to mek who couldn't catch H1N1 in Mexico City. we have no post scoring at all. plus, don't forget that boris had plenty of games where he had 4 or 5 or more TO's

Boozer also has a lot of them.

C'mon guys, you all know how much LB loves Boris and Gerald. I think both of them have an "untouchable" status and the only guy I see, who can be traded for Boozer, is Mek.

THE QUESTION IS:

Who is better?

not

Who is better for our team?

I'll repeat. I'm not saying I'm wanting him on our team. All I'm saying is that he is BETTER. There really isn't any argument there. It's perfectly okay to like our Bobcats players more, but please drop the homerism and open your eyes

You can't compare them, because on most team's Diaw's a SF or even a SG on the Magic or Cavs. Their different players. It's easier to compare Crash to Boozer than it is Diaw. Diaw is a big 3 and Crash is a small 4. And 20/10 depends a lot on his teammates too...he's never really been on a "bad" team that I remember.

And Chef, I take that as a compliment...people said the same things about Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, and even at times Larry Brown.

Shaking hands on an agreement to pay you well below what you're worth is stupid.

If Ray shook Rod's hand on a 4 yr, 16 mil. contract, that's stupid. But Rod believes him. Then Ray goes out and signs a 4 yr, 40 mil with Portland...that's Ray backing out.

RIP Mr. Cronkite. Back then when we listened to Cronkite we knew we were hearing the truth. Either times have radically changed or we were all fools for believing the media would tell us nothing but the truth ever...but he was highly respected nontheless.

Give me 3D any day and every day. Boozer puts it in the basket so most are going to lean his direction...but give me smart players who can initiate the offense (yeah I repeated it!) any day.

In regards to paying Felton 6 per or any other PG not named Paul or Nash...unless a team is filled with players having high BBIQ and good passing ability a PG isn't enough to make the offense flow. Boris & Crash are a perfect tandem; if you bring in Booz then IMO we need to replace at least 2 if not three of the starters to make it work.
