To play with the French National Team for the rest of the summer. I talked to him yesterday at the Fantasy camp and he was pretty excited about going back to France. He looks like he has bulked up a little bit which is always a good sign.

If Bosnian National Team advances to the final round of the additional qualifiers for the EuroBasket they just might face Boris (I'm not sure if he's gonna be playing for France) & Alexis... that'd be neat.

the french national team will play against Italy today.
The game starts at about 8pm here in europe, which should be 2pm for you guys? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway, I don't know if this game will be streamed, but if it will you can find a link here:

It's 8:30 gmt, that'd be 3:30 for the east coast.
If no streams crop up, http://www.eurobasket2009.org/en/default.asp will prolly have a gamecast or such nonsense...

^ sure, I just hope Bosnia manages past Italy/France for that last spot in the final tourney... which is nigh impossible.

Yes, man, to be realistic, Bosnia's chances are very slim (even if Domercant and JR Bremer are included). Today's game, Italy vs. France will be crucial on the winner of the last spot of the EB.
But Bosnia will very probably get past the group stage.

We have no naturalised players on the roster for the additional qualifiers, which kinda sucks, we could really use Domercant seeing as one of our SGs is injured whilst the other one had visa/passport problems. Teletovic refused to take part because he's fatigued after a long ACB season (what a pansy), so we're pretty much screwed.
... we're goin' OT... derailing imminent.

Diaw finished with 15 points, 4 rebos, 4 assists. Not bad at all...
France now has a huge advantage for advancing EB.

Hey all!
I saw that some of you watched the game yesterday.
What did you think of our national team?
Without Tony Parker, they did a great job. Boris was very good to lead the team. He was the captain had a very good game.
Batum was our best player, he's so talented, I dream of having him with Boris in Charlotte.
What about the French team if you add Noah, Parker and Mike Pietrus.
I just hope they'll get through this and go to Poland and Euro09.

France is the most unorthodox team of the Europe. Thanks to the athletic players, who are originated from Caribbeans and Africa, France has the potential to be a very unEuropean but great team. Although France has some good outside shooters, such as Diaw, Pietrus, Batum etc, none of them are pure shooters once France had too many. If Antoine Rigaudeau or Laurent Foirest were a few years younger, I think at the moment France would be in the tie with Greece for the 2nd best team of the Europe spot behind Spain, considering the collapse of Serbia.
France will definitely be one of the most exciting teams to watch in Poland, but to be honest, I don't see them going beyond semis, even if M. Pietrus and Noah are included, which I highly doubt, especially about Noah. He just played in exhibitions.
Anyway, France has just beaten Finland at home, 82-72. Boris Diaw put another modest, but solid performance with 10 points and 4 assists, in limited minutes.

Yes I agree it's not yet a great world basket team, but I'm pleased to believe that the future of this team will be great.
Thanks for your opinion.

Ok, first I'm sorry for double post.
I didn't knew where I had to post this, so in the french team topic it's more appropriated.
I read a french article (which is taking the information from the french most read sports newspaper - L'équipe) says that Larry Brown (who helps french national team) is intrested by a french player. It seems that Florent Pietrus (Mike Pietrus's brother) interest LB. "Coach Brown" asked if he can have the tape of Italia-France, to learn more about Flo Pietrus.
It's just a rumor and maybe that guys who wrote that, just dream about it. But I wanted to tell you that.
My opinion, Flo Pietrus is a good player who can defend well. His problem seems to be his height, too little for an interior. But I like this player and I guess it could be good for the 'Cats.

Florent Pietrus might be one of the best French player outside NBA. He might be as helpful as Walter Herrmann once was. He's experienced and athletic. Considering that our options are very very limited at this point, he might be an option as a backup.
But I still think our major need is a "real" back-up PF, Pietrus is way too undersized for a PF.
