Noticeably absent from Tuesday night's first preseason home game was team owner Bob Johnson. Also, noticeably absent is the sale of the team that was supposedly close to being done over the summer to an ownership group from Houston. In, fact people close to the inner workings of the Bobcats say the "deal's dead", and, that Johnson, who reportedly lost passion for the team last spring and was committed to selling, is now "re-engaged", a word floating around the halls of TWC Arena.

defeninatly a old article. When u click on the link and look in the url bar if u look closely it says 2009-08-20 which u can prob figure out is august 20 which was 2 months ago so yea it is old nice find though!

This news is about the same as Bell being out for a long time. Both are bad news.

I know it's the news on Raja that is affecting me right now, but, I swear, I have such negative vibes both long term and short about this franchise........it's just.....I actually dread the season at this point :(

Ya Beags I'm pretty stoked. It's super-duper to know the team owner has re-newed his enthusiasm for this gig. I was getting worried the team would turn up on Ebay.

It would've been cool to say "I bid on the Bobcats" :biggrin:

But, I think as long as he gets mercilessly booed when he shows up, he'll lose that passion.

Yeah, Fox Charlotte, the tv station...random, reported that they're off the market. Unnamed sources, which are always the most reliable because you can make them say whatever you want them to, same unnamed sources that reported they were sold, then not sold, then jordan didn't have a shot then they were about to be announced to the Houston group...? I dont think anyone knows here in Charlotte, unless Bob happens to be in town.
