Do you see circles or spirals?

I call bullshit on the first one. Squares A and B aren't the same shade, unless my monitor's color is whacked out; A is clearly darker than B even though B is shaded by the green cylinder.

On the second, I see circles though, if I look for it, I can see the spiral effect; but circles jump out at me first.

Beagle, both A and B are of the same colour, try testing it in MSPaint, use the pick colour tool or simply crop those two. (it's something about the eye perceiving the colours within context or such nonsense)

As for the second illusion, I see spirals, even though I know they're circles.

Beagle, all I did was draw a solid colored line through both boxes on paint. You see that they are the same color. Bing is correct, it has something to do with the way your mind perceives the colors. Yadda yadda...

The second one is circles.

^That's crazy. Even the line looks like it changes shades.

^ is the lady spinning clockwise or counter-clockwise? Damn, that is freaky as hell!!! She "changes" directions, at least for me, when you look down at the shadow. At first she was definitely going counter, then I look down at the shadow, look up, and she's going clockwise. WTF?!?! Plus nice nipple action  Good stuff, bing!!

As for the squares, I'm still skeptical, but I'll defer to the rest of y'all, though I still don't think they're the same shade, they're probably close enough (as Swedd illustrates) that it doesn't matter.
