Ok before you all burst out into hysterical laughter and say "whats your problem Dcarnys?" What is his legacy? One thing a co-worker said to me Id thought you like. The one thing Bob Johnson did right was make George Shinn look good.

I would take Johnson over Shin. I really don't see what people are griping about. The mistakes the Bobs have made are: 1. drafting Sean May, 2 drafting Morrison, and trading for Naz. I don't think Bob was the one that pulled the trigger on any of that. You can't say the guy has been unwilling to spend because we have spent a lot more then we had to. The J-Rich deal and the Naz deal are two examples of spending more money in an effort to make the team better. We have given out big contracts to Mek and Wallace to retain our tallent and we offered Ray the qualilfing so we are going to sign him one way or another.
People might say he is cheap because he doesn't want to go into the luxery tax to sign AI. It might be a good basketball decision to leave him off the roster regardless of the money. I don't want AI unless he is willing to be a team player and he hasn't made any statements that lead me to believe he would be.

You are right in saying that Bob (a non-basketball guy) has been willing to let basketball people make basketball decisions. However, Bob the business man has made way more mammoth mistakes than May Morrison and Mohammed. All of the TV deals, not having or making ties with the local community, childishly attacking the local businesses when things didn't come easily to him, etc have hurt this team at least as bad as the 3Ms did.

The Jumper Classic?
As far as the Bobcats team? Nothing TOO terrible. As far as the Bobcats organization? Acting like a prick.

At least he brought the NBA back to Charlotte. Despite all else, he did do that. And without that, we'd have no team.

+1
At least he brought us a team. Put aside his intentions of just trying to make something that would make him a profit, the fact that without him we would have nothing is good enough for me.

Ok I can see what you are saying with the TV deals and such. I know living out of town and not really being a big fan of basketball bothers people.
The reason there has never been much support has everything to do with the city's experience with the Hornets. Shin got a ton of support from the fans then spit in our faces. That isn't Bob Johnsons fault and as owners go he could probably be better but he could also be a whole lot worse.
ohara and betcats - The city of Charlotte was promised a team whent the Hornets left. It was just Bob that was the highest bidder.
GoBobs - It's not necessarily that, it's poor marketing, and lack of a good product.

Regardless, Bob WAS the highest bidder and he was the owner of the expansion team that came back to Charlotte.
I think his legacy is better than Shinn's. Bob is nowhere near the cheapskate like Shinn was. The Hornets started collapsing because Shinn refused to pay to keep the core together. Johnson gave the go ahead to lock up Okafor and Wallace and he let Larry bring on some guys that took up some more space in order to bring a winner. It just didn't work out for him, oh well.
