CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Jake Delhomme (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=1693) is still Carolina's starter -- even after 11 turnovers in two games.
Coach John Fox defended his beleaguered quarterback Monday, saying his status "hasn't changed" a day after he threw four interceptions and lost a fumble in the Panthers' 38-10 loss to Philadelphia.
The team did add some experience behind him, however, reaching agreement with free-agent quarterback A.J. Feeley (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=2704).

philly signed jeff garcia i wish we could of got him instead. Im just upset that fox is still defending jake.

Feeley? geeze he sucks the big one.... what is wrong with playing Matt Moore? geeze he is clearly the best QB we have at the moment....
I think JR needs to step in and straighten out Fox because he clearly hasnt got a clue... I think Fox keeps defending Jake because he talked the FO into the contract extention in the first place, he is trying to save face as the Japanese say...

Feeley is not a cure to this problem. Delhomme needs to get his head together, and the line needs to protect him a little better.

Garcia was my preference too, but he is gone to Philly. What tells me a lot is that Philly did not even reach out to Feeley, who had been with Philly. They know something that Fox and Hurney obviously dont. This is not good.

Matt Moore played well the last few games from a couple years ago when Jake was hurt. But the guys on NFL Radio say he really regressed last year. That is the whole reason they went out and traded for McCown last year. And of course he is now on the IR and done for the year, and they just dont have confidence in Moore. He's a 3rd string emergency QB.

Extending Jake and guaranteeing him $20 mil this offseason was just ridiculous. They should have used the extra money to pacify #90 and keep him happy. No wonder Peppers is so disenchanted with Fox and Hurney and wants to leave Carolina. But I have a feeling that if the team has lost confidence in Jake and they play like they did vs Philly, this season is history. And since Fox and Hurney saw fit to trade next year's 1st round to San Fran, I'll lay money that if this season goes downhill, so will the job security for Fox and Hurney. The one thing that Big Cat Richardson cannot afford is to have unhappy fans in a down economy not get excited and not come to the games. And you know full well that with people like Cower and Holmgren out there, bringing in one of those will excite the fan base and increase ticket sells. Not making any predictions, but I'm just saying....
