Why would we want to sign Flip Murray?

I always did like Flip Murray. As a backup, which he would be here. How tall is he? That could be the reason. I mean, for all the free agent guards out there, we could do a lot worse.

He killed us I think when we played the Hawks. I like him. We'll see. We had already signed AI, too. Don't believe ANYthing you read.

I'd rather have McCants. Murray seems like even less of an LB player than him and at least McCants has some respect from Tarheel fans. I think he'd be a much more popular signing even if Murray's O is bit better.

think I would just rather resign felton and go to camp

before camp all i want is 3 things:

Felton re-signed

New owner

Trade to bring in a backup or starter 4-5 that can help us improve our team

If we could get an offensive scorer like murray or mcCants that would be great if we could get the 3 things up there dont two.

If we got two of those three I would be overjoyed. Adding Flip or McCants on top would be like the two cherries on Sean May's ice cream.

What happend to the Bobcats getting close to signing McCants?

I think it would be good because he's already got chemistry with Felton... and he's a Tar Heel!

It brings all the boys to the yard.

...What?

Murray would be a nice little offensive punch off the bench. I remember seeing him for the Hawks and couldn't help but like his style of play for some reason. He'd be a nice little fan favorite

Muttley: I'll spell it out for you

1. I like McCants better as a backup guard
2. He is a Tarheel, Murray is not.
3. Murray does not play Larry Brown's style.
4. Murray is has better pure offense than McCants, but I think that McCants would be an overall better fit.

That make more sense?

Somewhat.I won't argue with your opinion of him as a player though I don't necessarilly see it that way, however point #2 is ridiculous. Besides, Murray went to Shaw in Raleigh so he'd get just as much support as someone who went to some other school, right?

Flip has some handles (better than McCants), so if we're looking at him LB is thinking about that 3rd tall PG type of guy.

The dude seems to always bust our chops. If he's on the team that should be good for a win or two just because of that.

I would rather have McCants. He has the potential to be a nasty defender and he isn't nearly as selfish as Murray. McCants doesn't make his teammates better or anything, but Murray would kill our ball movement which is key to our offense right now. But more importantly we need to solve our backup forward problem before we start looking at these guys. Everything I keep reading about our team is AI, McCants, now Murray. I hoping this is because management has a trade for a forward in the works, but who knows?

Murry has all ready been offered 1.3 mil. McCants is a minium deal at less than a mil . Management is not going to offer him the 1,9 like he wants .

I think the Bobcats would be stupid to not sign a former 1st round draft pick for just the league minimum.

Heck it could turn out to be a steal if he fits into LB's system and gets some good minutes off the bench.

^ who also has a history of moodiness.

Flip has at least proved he can play in the league.

Really tho...I'm assuming whoever will get almost no PT barring an injury, so it's not that big a deal either way to me.

Yes that is true but Roy Williams learned how to control that and turned him into a pretty good player.

It might be good for him to be close to home (Asheville, NC) instead of another state without his family.

Larry Brown ain't Roy Williams.

Kind of ironic, but when he got drafted I was hoping he wouldn't get picked by us at 13th because I thought he'd do better away from the state. Right or wrong he got a lot of flack while at UNC, so I figured he could use that fresh start. That looked to be the case, but with Garnett going out I think he might have lost a mentor and then with the injury he seemed to regress.

Minny fans were very high on him his rookie season.

I've always liked the guy (the year they won the championship was the last year I followed college bball; before then I was a UNC fan from like 5 years old), and we might could help him gain something of his career back.

On the flip (pun intended)...Larry Brown's short fuse could very well end it for good.

Regardless, my main priority is who would be the most help for the Bobcats.

True...but can he stay focused to play consistently?

As I said, I'd not be upset if we get either one. It'll probably end up being McCants...doubt we'll beat out Denver for Flip.

Spectre, why did you stop watching college basketball after UNC won the championship in 2005?

If you were a Duke fan I could understand why but you said you were a UNC fan which is why I can't understand.

I'm a bigger Bobcats' fan, they play 82 games and I don't miss any of them (be it radio, online, etc.), I'm married and only get a certain allotment for sports (kidding!)...whole bunch of reasons.

I tried to keep up with both the first couple of seasons but it was just too hard. I'll still catch a game if the Bobcats aren't playing, but to me there is no choice when both are on at the same time.

Man you and I are completely opposite, I like the Bobcats a lot but I love the Tar Heels and it's no question for me if they're both playing at the same time... TAR HEELS! I'm sure I will become a much bigger Bobcats fan when we do make the playoffs which will make people quit calling us a D-league team. Right now you just can't watch any better basketball than watching Roy and the Heels dominate on the court. The Heels won't win the championship this year but they will always contend with Roy as our coach.

LB is a better coach than Roy. Roy is a player's coach, LB is a coach. A real, bona fide, coach. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Tar Heel born and a Tar Heel bred, and when I die I'm a Tar Heel dead, but the 'Cats are gonna go farther than the Heels this year. And I watch the 'Cats live because there are more Heels highlights, so I get the best of both worlds. That, and I like the pros better because it's the best of the best.

Real gm has posted that we may offer Stephen Graham a training camp roster spot. Any thoughts on this move.

That's the beauty of DVR, you can watch one game live and then watch the other game and fast forward through all the commercials.
