If you could pick any player in the NBA to be a Bobcat who would it be and why?

My pick would be Chris Paul because not only is he the best PG in the league IMO but we grew up in the same city, Winston-Salem NC.

He does a lot for the community and I loved watching him at Wake Forest, I guess you could say he's kind of like a hometown hero to me.

Dwight Howard.

You can't win without a big man, and he's got plenty of good years ahead of him. Great guy, too. And we can forget about Mek, as well :p

But it's all wishful thinking, so why not LeBron?

Why not this..

CP3
Wade
Iverson
Allen
Kobe

James
Bosh
Garnett
Stoudemire

Nowitzki
Shaq
Gasol

we would have it all....

Fred Williamson

To be realistic, Brandon Roy or Joe Johnson. That's the kind of go-to-guy I want on this team, and this would also bring us to the next level.

Augustin
Roy/Johnson
Wallace
Diaw
Chandler

Contender.

If I could choose any player with no strings attached, it would have to be Lebron.

CP3 and Howard are very, very, very good but Lebron is on an entirely different level that only him and Kobe occupy.

Not only is he on another level, but I think he really fits our team too. With Lebron, we trade Felton for a great backup PF and let Augustin man the point. That team would be pretty sick.

Of course, adding a healthy Garnett would be equally as amazing.

depends on the position of need, since we are weaker at PF, I'd say Tim Duncan

If we went PG - Chris Paul, SG- Kobe Bryant, SF - Lebron James, C- Dwight Howard

I say Kobe. Great guy, maybe the best player ever..........He would get our team to an elite level and we would stay at that level because we would know how to win even without him once he retires. We would have alot of experience. He could also work with his suppossed "Twin" Gerald Henderson! haha

If you mean select one player to add with the current roster intact without giving up anyone...it's a no brainer.

LeBron James!

Not only would he be the superstar that the city of Charlotte needs and bring instant fame with him, but he's a big time player that does it all on the court. He'd become our go to scorer, one of the best rebounders on the team, and definitely the best passer with best court vision around. He'd make guys like Felton and Wallace step up to another level while guys like Radmanovich and Chandler would benefit from all the attention James and Wallace would create. He'd also be very welcomed in Charlotte because he can essentially play 4 positions, so Larry Brown is salavating.

clearly lebron, imo. considering he's the next in line for the kobe, jordan, etc. talk, i feel like the talk starts and ends with him. young, just entering his prime, leadership qualities, scorer, shooter, and all around sells tickets wherever he goes. the next tier for me would be dwight howard, chris paul, brandon roy or lamarcus aldridge.

Manute Bol....he shows how tall, need-to-eat-a-sammich players can have SOME impact from the get-go....Ajinca needs a kick in the pants to get going

If not him, then Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje...because a Boumtje-Boumtje Bobcats jersey would be priceless

Lebron would be my choice without considering anything else. When you really look at our roster though, a SG would be the best fit. Obviously Kobe but someone that hasn't been mentioned yet is Wade. He is a warrior and someone that the community would have no trouble getting behind.

For me, my top 3 would be Lebron, Dwight Howard and D-Wade.

To echo davcbow, MJ was just the same, and LeBron is on the same plane as MJ, so if college is all you care about, why isn't Vinsanity or Ray your top guy?

I just don't like guys who act cocky when they have 0 rings to show for it, Kobe is a cocky S.O.B. but he's got 4 rings so that's why it's okay IMO.

Skill. LeBron has far better character.

And he'll get a ring, don't worry. MJ was this cocky before he won, and he hadn't won a ring at this point in LeBron's career either.

I agree, LeBron doesn't want it bad enough because he's already being called the greatest player in NBA history by some and had 0 rings to show for it. MJ was a different animal, he brought the NBA to a new level that it will probably never see again. LeBron isn't even in the top 25 greatest players IMO, gotta win a "ship" before he can even be considered.

WAM9

I agree that when you compare MJ's whole body of work with Lebron at this point in his career, it isn't even close. However, that's comparing apples and oranges.

Let me qualify this next statement with the fact that I think MJ is the best player to ever play the game, without question.

Lebron has more natural athletic, basketball skills already than Jordan ever had. Lebron, in my opinion, is probably the absolute best physical basketball prototype to ever play. Wilt Chamberlin would be the only other person I would argue.

What Jordan had was a mental side to the game that is unmatched. Combine that mental side with his awesome physical skills and you have the best of all time.

If Lebron continues to grow and mature, he has the potential to be in the discussion with the best of all time. I also agree that he needs to win some championships to be in that discussion but those will surely come. All championships will have to go through Lebron (in the finals or conference finals) for the next 10 years. He will eventually get his.

When all is said and done, I think Lebron will be considered a top 10 player to ever play the game...and that is one hell of an acomplishment. He may not be #1 but being in the discussion with guys like Wilt, Magic, Big O, Bill Russell, Bird, Kareem and the like is something to be extremely proud of.

I was lucky enough to follow Jordan's career from his first game at UNC and now, I feel the same about the ability to watch Lebron's career play out.

LeBron choked because he couldn't overcome Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and a bunch of other sick role players with Larry Hughes, Zydrunas Illgauskas, Drew Gooden, and Daniel Gibson? Are you joking?

Doesn't want it bad enough? Maybe Kobe didn't want it bad enough against the Celtics two years ago?

LeBron wants a ring more than any other player in the league right now. He wants to be the best ever, he knows he's not yet, and that it requires a few rings to get there.

Tell me, how many rings did Jordan win without Pippen? And who has LeBron had that is his Pippen?

Big Z actually posted his best numbers the year BEFORE they drafted LeBron, and has been in a steady decline every year since.

Delonte had better numbers playing for Boston than when he went to Cleveland. Hard to say anything about Boobie as he's been largely inconsistent since they drafted him. Big Ben has been garbage ever since he left Detroit and Varejao has grown progressively better but I wouldn't necessarily attribute that to LeBron as much as it is typical big man growth.

Delonte had better numbers in Boston because he was a bigger option. But he's a better player now is my point.

Z had better numbers for the same reason, and he's still a factor becuase of LeBron, and LeBron only.

Big Ben was garbage but he still was well regarded because of LeBron.
