There's still nothing new on the official bobcats homepage, but Jeff Elder, who writes for the Charlotte Observer, posted 2 videos on his blog. Cool stuff:

I wonder if there was a rule against him panning down so we could see the new uniforms again?

Also, I wonder what the rookies are going to have to do this year to embarrass themselves and entertain the veterans. Last year's backpacks were great. I don't know what might top those.

You guys see Bonnel's blog? LB trashing Ajinca to the media isn't a good sign for him.

He's putting it all in Lexy's hands. Time for him to be as bad or as good as he wants to be. I personally hope he cares enough about his team (or at least his paycheck) to get the attitude right.

DNB's right...Boris looks down right sleek!

I love Derrick's expression...and it's the same in every shot! I really hope he plays big this year.

Comedy these days SUCKS!

How in the FUCK? was that Wallace (creepy close-up) video was funny.

That sucked!

Try Again

p.s. the Magic called, they say we suck and they want their jersey idea back.

observations from the various links....

as if he wasn't already one of my favorite players ever, gw reinforces it with his views on twitter and popeye...

love that raymond stays true to his southern roots by pronouncing the word 'cement' as 'see-ment'

love larry dressing down lexy to the media...he wouldn't be so pissed if he thought lexy doesn't have the skills and talent to be special....how he reacts to this will likely dictate his career.

love the photo of our new starting 5.

love the jerseys.

love that raja inquired about an extension, and though i understand, i'm still disappointed the f.o. brushed him off.

and of course i loved gw's comment about The Biscuit!!! it's like that whole year was a confusing, surreal haze for him like it was for us.

boy, can the season start already??? i'm pretty damn pumped!

maybe its just me but Lexy actually is starting to look like a legit big man instead of a really tall and skinny SF. I like our squad this year i think we could be legit. My hope is that we keep who we have and just play some fabulous D while the offense continues to progress each and every game. That quiet Flip Murry signing is really going to help our overall offensive production especially late in the game

LB venting his frustration to the media about not being aggressive enough in getting a backup PF.

I wonder what he thought of the Bobcats not being interested in talking to Raja about an extension?

He must be a Carolina Panthers fan like me, my life is full of negativity because my team has yet to win in 2009 (1 playoff game, 4 preseason games and 3 regular season games)... or maybe he's still not over the Bobcats trading Adam Morrison last season lol.

He also went on to say that they had to wait on Ray before signing anyone.

And as far as a Raja extension, I wouldn't do it. And I l-o-v-e what Raja brings to the team.

And why wouldn't you extend Raja?

I audibly heard it somewhere, I don't have a link, sorry. But he did say it.

I wouldn't extend Raja because he's entering the twilight of his career, and after last season as a GM I don't know how much he's going to play for me. Plus, with his expiring contract I can make a play for something at the deadline. After the season, however, as long as nothing horrible happens, I'm open to resigning him for sure, as long as he doesn't want a lot of money. But good move by the FO.

I agree with you, Teej. I love what he brings to the team as well, but looking at it from a FO point of view, if you extend his contract you probably take a little bit of luster off the trade value he has. He is a little older, but can still knock down shots and defend...all that with an expiring contract going into FreeAgentPalooza 2010. That would be appealing to many teams, I'm sure. I think adding years to that would make it harder to move him if the opportunity presents itself.

I agree we should extend Raja unless Henderson plays really well as a rookie and proves that he can be the starter next season.

I think it depends on both Henderson AND Bell. If neither proves anything, I think we resign Flip and wait on Hendo. But if Raja can still play, we should resign him. But right now, that's not a good idea.

Is Flip starter quality? I thought he was just a role player who could give us a spark off the bench.

10 ppg off the bench, and started 20+ games multiple times, so he's better than nothing.

After thinking about it you're right about not extending Raja...but part of me regrets the thought of possibly losing the one vet leader we have. As noted in the "leadership" thread it's questionable that we even have another on the roster capable of taking over his role.

On Flip...he's certainly serviceable, but unless he makes a big leap I think we're in trouble if we have to resort to him being our starting SG full time. 6th man tho I think he's a pretty good choice.

Felton was the leader on the floor at UNC and he's been in the NBA long enough now that he should be a team leader.

Man, is it me or is there a lot less media coverage for the start of the season? Wasn't last year videos and interviews? I thought last year there was a new video up every day on Bobcats.com. Seems like all we have so far is a couple blogs. Maybe I'm just looking for more.

There are also revamping how they handle team news through the blog site. That could potentially be a lot better as we head into the season even if it looks like less coverage now.

They have had multiple blogs each day of camp.

Graham a solid asset for Bobcats (http://www.bobcatsbreak.com/?p=371)

Coach Brown called him “my George Lynch” referring to the versatile defender who played hard for him in Philadelphia. That's some mighty high praise from LB.

He stands about 6-3 but is strong and quick, allowing him to guard any position on the floor outside of centers. That's interesting. 6'3"? Dude must have some serious hops.

He’s really enjoyed camp thus far, attributing those feelings to positive team camaraderie (first- and second-year players sang and danced “Happy Birthday” to Tyson Chandler today, who turned 27 years old) and excellent coaching.http://www.nba.com/bobcats/photos/091002_camp_39.jpg

Notice Crash's expression? Wanna bet he's the one who instigated this?

The Bobcats are really pleased, if not surprised, that both Graham and Murray were available just days prior to training camp. They acquired assets without yielding any. There ya go! Assets!
