Who has the better season . Who was the better draft pick.

What is your expectation of each?

I go on record now saying UPS breaks the rotation in the first regular season game.

I all so say we see Hendo playing a lot of NBDL ball this season. Trying to perfect his shot

Thoughts of each?

I think both will be major part of the team this year, and we'll see a lot of both in Charlotte.

Lexy will be the one in Portland...

I don't see Hendo breaking the rotation behind Bell, and Murry
UPS has much better odds as a back up power foward. I think he beats out AA and Vald
He don't have the competation Hendo does . The kid all so has a chip on his shoulder something to prove.

I think it would be good for him to play first 4th of the season in the D league'. I think the playing time would be better than just watching Flip and Bell.
I would say if he could beat out either player and play in the rotation then and only then we should keep him up.

Hendo & Brown both see a lot minutes, I see Bell & Wallace really taking these two under their wings. Lexi is in the D-league or maybe trade fodder.

Brown >> than AA and Vald
Hendo << than Bell and Flip

Brown has way less comp to get in the rotation.

I think UPS is going to get more playing time after what Brown said about AA yesterday. UPS is a hard worker and does the little things to get on the court. Henderson is fighting minutes with Murray and Bell. UPS will also see more playing time in the preseason now that Diaw is hurt and Chandler unable to play for two weeks. I predict UPS starting in some of the preseason games.

Henderson will start slow but should be a major part of the rotation when Raja is traded.

Brown, The low post is a better place to rack up stats. Closer shots, more fouls which means more FTs.

I have no idea. If anything, I might give the nod to Brown because of his versatility. However, if Henderson strokes it during the season like he supposedly has over the summer, maybe he'll get significant minutes.

I hear what you are saying but Henderson isn't a guy who sits outside and just hoists up shots. He is more of a slasher who has a real good first step and drives the ball to the hole. He will get his share of foul shots as well.

Also, there is no way Henderson plays in the D-League this year. Has everyone read Brown's comments from yesterday's first day? He said that Henderson has been well coached and plays the right way...That kind of endorsement means Brown is very high on Henderson. As long as Henderson plays hard (which I know he will), he will get plenty of burn.

Comparing Brown and Henderson is all about value to me. Henderson will be a very good player but he should be at the #12 pick. Brown may be regarded as better value though as we got him in the second. Ultimately, Brown will probably be the best 2nd round draft pick ever by this franchise.

The depth chart has Brown listed as Diaw's back up. Since I honestly don't think LB plan's on using Ajinca as a PF, Brown will get more playing time. If not Brown, then Diaw has no back up. Derrick is 6'8 230,basically the same size as Diaw.

Derrick Brown will have a better season then Mr. Elbow from the sky

Hendo get's to play some and makes a good impression on LB setting off a chain of events that get's Hendo some major playing time come All star break.Brown....................at best does all the blue collar work that a coach like LB just adores but can he play in LB's system?

Those blue collar working are the ones the get the lose balls, exrta rebounds, tip in shots. This team is filled with blue collar workers so I'm guessing that means he'll fit into LB's system. Ajinca on the other hand is clearly not a blue collar worker. Thats why he is still struggling so much.

Ajinca has the size and skill set that makes you like him. Oh a video game he would be nasty. But Ajinca has zero work ethic. Ok, maybe thats rough, I'll just say he doesn't play he right way. Sounds like a whole year later and Lexy is still lost. He still seems weak, right now the boy ain't worth two dead flies smashed on a windy day. In these Preseason games he needs to finally show up.

I still think UPS will have a better rookie season then the Macho Man (elbow off the top rope)

I think Gerald Jr. will have a great career with the Cats, But adding flip was a good idea for the "Payoff Bobcats"

Future line up: DJ, Henderson, UPS, Ajinca, random center

Henderson will get limited minutes because of the players in front of him, but would get more minutes if say, Bell were traded which has been hinted.

Rumors continue that we're shopping Bell...I guess if he brings in a quality back-up at the 4 it would work...less than that I'm not clear as to the "why"...if that happens and is one of the reasons we signed Flip then Hendo will get more playing time from the get-go...if Bell stays he gets less time...

Bottom line trading for a p/f helps the team . Gives Hendo more playing time. And at the same time cuts in to the burn UPS and AA gets. Im cool either way. Though i know what Bell can provide . So we can't just give him away for trash.

We need to keep Raja Bell, I know he has an ayyractive tradeable contract but He's still the same man that clothes lined Kobe. I want that type of firey player. These young guys need to see that every game. Bell is old, But still plays good defense. He's smart and can still shoot. Last year alot of the time is was " As Raja goes, so goes the team". Other then DJ he's still the only reliable shooter. Maybe Flip, But it's to early to know what he'll do with this team.

Look the trading of Bell might happen but i dont think it should. Yes Henderson needs time but look, Bell is done after this season Henderson can try to start next season if he is ready. Bell makes this team better now as does Felton but both could(should) be gone next season. I think we need to keep both for JUST this year so that we have our best chance at making the playoffs. THEN next season let the young guys fly (Augustin and Henderson)

I know a lot of people were curious as to what the rookies' initiation bags are. Remember last year when DJ had the Little Miss Giggles and Ajinca had the My Little Pony? Nazr recently tweeted what Bo and UPS will be wearing for the upcoming seasons

Does anyone else think Gerald Henderson will be the shooting guard version of Gerald Wallace? Super athletic, hops out of the gym, loves to dunk, solid defense, decent jumper but needs a little work on perimeter game, all-out hustle, etc. I don't know if it's been mentioned on here yet, but after reading about him in practice and out of college, it seems like a decent fit.

Hendo could be real good , He plays tough defence . Can jump out the gym . He needs more work on his shot selection and his jumper. I think a good pick .
Brown after two games continues to impress . His defence is decent . He can get up and block shots. He runs the floor well . He can jump out the gym all so . His jumper is smooth. He could be the pick of the year. This kid has tons of up side.
Im going to put Lexy in hear too. Hes starting to look like a first round pick after the first two game . He still has a lot to learn but i think is ready for rotation at the p/f .
Given playing time he has the tools to be special . Not now but he could turn into longer KG type . If he sees rotation listens to Brown . By next year we might be able to start making comparisons. But the kid has to listen to Brown.

I think he's a good fit...needs work on the jumper (and I think he will) as well as his free-throws...but I think he has the work ethic and desire so I expect him to become a better all-around "2"...

Agreeded , As UPS has showed hes ready for rotation play now.

Just like DJ so far . Thats another one thet will be lucky to see 10 mins a game??

Just kiding hes looked great. But not as good as Felton , lol
Truth, i see a big inprovement in his game . One can tell he has started trying to work on the defencive side of the ball. His biggist weakness. Hes got stronger all so. His size he can't help.

SWedd523

I don't know why anyone is surprised. Henderson has never had an outside game. He's always relied on his athleticism to get to the rim as a slasher and occasionally takes a mid range jumper (which if you've noticed, he's pretty good at).

He's not going to be a good outside shooter for a year or two, if at all. But he's in the NBA now and he's going to be forced to work on it so we'll see if he's able to develop it or not (Hello Felts)

Henderson did seem like Crash jr. out there. His head looked extra big too, Was I the only one that noticed that? I saw some good things out of him but he seemed to be playing to fast. I still thiink he'll turn out to be a good back up,probably not a starter or all star. I think I have a foundnew player to hate on :D, with his extra large head

Ajinca, I'm so proud , My lil baby pony has turned into, Well he turned into a more talented pony but it's atleast a start. I doubt he'll ever be the Tim Duncan type horse we can ride into the playoffs but he did show signs of being worth a NBA draft pick. I'm so happy he didn't play like a girl scout.

This being my first time ever seeing UPS play live basketball I was very impressed. I still say he will have a better year then Henderson. UPS has a nice jumper, long arms and he gets off the ground pretty quick. I did see alot of rookie mistakes but this is preseason, so I didn't expect much.
