I've personally never thought much of Nazr...and I get the feeling that LB doesn't think much of him either. I don't think LB has ever said anything to that effect or hinted it, I just get that impression.

In reading the latest Observer article, I think it's great that Nazr is ticked off (http://www.charlotteobserver.com/bobcats/story/976503.html). He's looking for more minutes and both him and Diop need to improve themselves to become reliable back up centers.

Anyone think that Nazr will take over the back up center?

I don't see it happening due to him stepping up..but rather Diop not doing too well..

I love Nazzy, he was the best player the Biscuit had, and I think he got stuck under LB's grindax for some reason. I see no reason he shouldn't be ahead of Diop right now...

Nazz can play . He says hes in the best shape of his life . I could see him and TC on the court toghter. I think we see more burn out of him this year. Brown even said he should have give him more burn last year.

I don't know why i think Nazr has a lazy attitude...but maybe he just needed to added motivation.

i do think that nazr playing 10% better than he did in 2007 is a way better back up than Diop

If Nazzy plays like he did in 07-08, then we don't need to worry about a backup PF, because he and TC have the center and Boris, UPS and TC have the PF...

I think we'll see Nazr earn more playing this season. At the first glance, he seemed to have gotten complacent last year, but then never got a chance to show that he deserves a spot on the floor because he didn't get to play. So, it's hard to say what was really going on.However, when he first came to Charlotte he played very well. I think we'll see even better than that this coming season. He's seemed focus and single-minded in his desire to excel with this team. He should do well.

I don't think he is amazing, but I was always surprised at how little LB played him. I don't know why LB doesn't like him. He made him ride the bench in Phili too. Nazr played pretty damn well for the Spurs in 07 and he is not that old. Bottom line he can defend and rebound well enough to get some playtime. Whether LB puts him in or not is up for debate. I think alot of it depends on Diop.

I've never been a big fan of Nazr either. I had the impression that he was a little too slow and I don't remember the numbers but I believe his free throw percentage must have been horrible. I like hearing him being "fired up" though.

One positive-- after stating he was frustrated with the direction of the team, he had this to say on media day:

“I think we’ve got all the right pieces here to do something special,” said Mohammed. “But since we don’t have that superstar, we’ve got to listen to everything that Coach Brown tells us. Coach is our star.”

Much more positive, though this comment does come on a media day shortly after the NBA placed restrictions on Twitter use. Still, I'm glad to hear he's at least wearing a mask of positivity.

I think LB is looking for a way to get Chandler some time at PF and the only real way that can happen is if both Nazr AND Diop are relatively productive.

I actually expect this to happen and actually have more confidence in Nazr than I do Diop at this point.

I think Nassy can/will be productive...Diop and AA I have real doubts about...I know LB said indicated after the season that a "5" does not have to be particularly "smart" (as in BBIQ) but I totally disagree and think his blast about Diop and AA recently also indicate his rethink on the subject....I feel good/fine with Chandler and Nassy together but I have real worries about Diop and AA....the main reason I do not want Nassy traded...I think we have very little to nothing behind him...just my opinion...

I agree completely with yuo. Diop has not been very impressive..

What I don't really understand is that LB typically preffers veterans..but for some reason he doesn't believe in Nazr's ability. Instead, last year we had to play Diop, who is god aweful at FT and not really a presence offensively. I really don't understand it.

I go back to Nazr's attitude perhaps, this is the only reason I can think..laziness, apathy, complancency with mediocracy, who knows
